Here You Are in Your Sins Without One Plea for Innocence; Would You Rather Plea for God's Justice or Mercy? MESSAGE SUMMARY:  We do not deserve it; but we are able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, to plea for His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am without one plea; have mercy on me a sinner.     TODAY'S PRAYER: Surely it is God who saves me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. For the Lord is my stronghold and my defense, and He is my savior. Therefore, you shall draw water with rejoicing from the springs of salvation. And on that day, you shall say, “Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His Name; make His deeds known among the peoples; see that they remember that His Name is exalted.”. Amen. This weekend we will be dealing with the questions: "Who is Jesus?" and "What does that mean for me?" During the ministry of Jesus there were many people who had questions about who He was, and what that meant for them. The same is true today. Jesus declared that He was the Messiah, the Savior promised by God to the world, and He showed that to be true by His words and actions. If that is true, then His words have implications for us today. He invites us to come to Him for forgiveness, life and salvation.  This hymn, written by Anne Steele, repeats that invitation. It reminds us that Jesus has invited us to come and never thirst, and it reminds us that we are also to invite others to come to Jesus as well. The hymn is based on several passages from the Old and New Testament that contain God's gracious invitation to sinners, but foremost it is based on Jesus' words in Matthew 11:28 and John 7. Jesus says: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28). And “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water" (John 7:37-38). What rich blessings our Savior offers to undeserving sinners such as us through this invitation! Thank God for His Mercy in Jesus! The Lord of the Universe extended His Mercy to me, and God saved my honor. || 1 || The Lord�s feet are forever peace-giving.  ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਠਾਢਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਤਾਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਰਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹੈ ਰਾਖੀ ॥ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਤਾਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਆ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਉਪਜੇ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਦਾਰੂ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਦਾਰੂ ॥ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਬਾਤ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਮਾਰਿਆ ॥ ਹਮਰਾ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗੁਣੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਭਇਓ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਾਖੀ ॥੩॥ ਬੋਲਾਇਆ ਬੋਲੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਾਖੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੫੬॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਠੰਡ ਵਰਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਤਾਪ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਲਿਆ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਦਵਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਦਾਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰ-) ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਕਹਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ (ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਲਿਆ) ।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੁਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਂ ਔਗੁਣ ਦਿਲ ਤੇ ਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ। (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਇਆ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਢਹੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ) ।੩। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਇਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਾਮੀ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।੪।੬।੫੬।  SORAT'H, FIFTH MEHL:  The Creator has brought utter peace to my home; the fever has left my family. The Perfect Guru has saved us. I sought the Sanctuary of the True Lord. || 1 || The Transcendent Lord Himself has become my Protector. Tranquility, intuitive peace and poise welled up in an instant, and my mind was comforted forever. || Pause || The Lord, Har, Har, gave me the medicine of His Name, which has cured all disease.  ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥ ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਏ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩॥ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੭੯॥ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ) ਆਸ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ (ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ) ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ (ਸੁਭਾਉ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ-ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਗਏ।੩।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।੪।੧੫।੭੯।SORAT�H, FIFTH MEHL:When it was pleasing to the Perfect True Guru, then I chanted the Naam, the Name of the Pervading Lord. The Lord of the Universe extended His Mercy to me, and God saved my honor. || 1 || The Lord�s feet are forever peace-giving. Whatever fruit one desires, he receives; his hopes shall not go in vain. || 1 || Pause || That Saint, unto whom the Lord of Life, the Great Giver, extends His Mercy � he alone sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. His soul is absorbed in loving devotional worship; his mind is pleasing to the Supreme Lord God. || 2 || Twenty-four hours a day, he chants the Praises of the Lord, and the bitter poison does not affect him. My Creator Lord has united me with Himself, and the Holy Saints have become my companions. || 3 || Taking me by the hand, He has given me everything, and blended me with Himself. Says Nanak, everything has been perfectly resolved; I have found the Perfect True Guru. || 4 || 15 || 79 ||

God is consistently merciful, this is His nature. We see many instances in the Bible. In the story of Nineveh, in the psalms David wrote; God is Just, slow to anger and merciful in spite of the inconsistent nature of man. The ultimate show of His Mercy is in the salvation story. Now in prayers, when we see how helpless and frail we are as humans, we must rely on the mercy of God.Listen to this teaching on the merciful nature of God and how it plays out in prayer.

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਾਰੇ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੋ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਟਿਓ ਭਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥ ਭਜੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਈ॥ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਤ ਆਵੈ ਕਤ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤ ਬੇਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥੩॥ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਬਿਗਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੩॥ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ: ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ । (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਕਾਮ ਕੋ੍ਰਧ (ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ) ਜ਼ਹਰ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕਠਨ ਹੈ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰੱਖ ਕੇ, ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ । ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਭਰਮ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ । (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ (ਦਿੱਸ ਪਏਗਾ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਸ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਹ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ) ਮੇਹਨਤ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਈ । (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਹਾਰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਸਲੀ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੇ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ । ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗਲੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ), ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ।੪।੧੨।੨੩।English Translation: SORAT'H, FIFTH MEHL: Sing the Glorious Praises of the Perfect, Imperishable Lord, and the poison of sexual desire and anger shall be burnt away. You shall cross over the awesome, arduous ocean of fire, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. || 1 || The Perfect Guru has dispelled the darkness of doubt. Remember God with love and devotion; He is near at hand. || Pause || Drink in the sublime essence, the treasure of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and your mind and body shall remain satisfied. The Transcendent Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere; where would He come from, and where would He go? || 2 || One whose mind is filled with the Lord, is a person of meditation, penance, self-restraint and spiritual wisdom, and a knower of reality. The Gurmukh obtains the jewel of the Naam; his efforts come to perfect fruition. || 3 || All his struggles, sufferings and pains are dispelled, and the noose of death is cut away from him. Says Nanak, God has extended His Mercy, and so his mind and body blossom forth. || 4 || 12 || 23 ||

 ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥ ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਏ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩॥ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੭੯॥ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ) ਆਸ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ (ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ) ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ (ਸੁਭਾਉ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ-ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਗਏ।੩।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।੪।੧੫।੭੯।SORAT�H, FIFTH MEHL:When it was pleasing to the Perfect True Guru, then I chanted the Naam, the Name of the Pervading Lord. When God calls us to walk by faith and not by sight, we want to know why. When he tells us to obey before we see what he is going to do, we insist that he show us first before we will act. When he asks us to trust him over our own strategies, we are inclined to lean on our own understanding. But Joshua 6 stands as a reminder to us of this fundamental truth: Victories in the Christian life are not won by human strength or wisdom, but by trusting the promise-keeping God. Sermon Outline:I. What does trusting God look like in practical ways in our daily lives?3. Jericho was devoted to destruction, yet Rahab and her family were spared because of her faith. What does this teach us about God's justice and mercy? How does Rahab's story foreshadow the salvation offered in Christ?4. Joshua's victory over Jericho pointed forward to Jesus' greater victory at the cross. How did Jesus' victory differ from Joshua's? How does trusting in Christ change the way we fight the spiritual battles we face today?

By God's mercy, God's people choose to worship Him together in reverent fear. Let Us Fearfully Worship God Together by His Mercy.

Here You Are in Your Sins Without One Plea for Innocence; Would You Rather Plea for God's Justice or Mercy? MESSAGE SUMMARY:  We do not deserve it; but we are able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, to plea for His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am without one plea; have mercy on me a sinner.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Surely it is God who saves me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. For the Lord is my stronghold and my defense, and He is my savior. Therefore, you shall draw water with rejoicing from the springs of salvation. And on that day, you shall say, “Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His Name; make His deeds known among the peoples; see that they remember that His Name is exalted.”. Amen. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Often we hear Grace and Mercy in the same sentence, however there is quite a difference in the meaning of Grace and Mercy! Grace is God applying His righteousness to sinners. His Grace is in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." His Mercy is God having compassion for us; overloooking our offenses and not giving to us what we deserve! Lamentations 3:22 "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not." Let us meditate this week upon this Triune God of Grace, Mercy, and Peace! 2 John 3 "Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love."

Beloved the Good News we proclaim today in a world divided by wounds, fears and innumerable barriers God's Kingdom still comes when we hear His invitation and surrender to His Mercy! Mercy that enables us to freely love our enemies. Not as a spiritual task but as a result of mercy being rooted in us.

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥ ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਏ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩॥ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੭੯॥ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ) ਆਸ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ (ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ) ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ (ਸੁਭਾਉ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ-ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਗਏ।੩।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।੪।੧੫।੭੯।SORAT�H, FIFTH MEHL:When it was pleasing to the Perfect True Guru, then I chanted the Naam, the Name of the Pervading Lord. The Lord of the Universe extended His Mercy to me, and God saved my honor. || 1 || The Lord�s feet are forever peace-giving. Whatever fruit one desires, he receives; his hopes shall not go in vain. || 1 || Pause || That Saint, unto whom the Lord of Life, the Great Giver, extends His Mercy � he alone sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. His soul is absorbed in loving devotional worship; his mind is pleasing to the Supreme Lord God. || 2 || Twenty-four hours a day, he chants the Praises of the Lord, and the bitter poison does not affect him. My Creator Lord has united me with Himself, and the Holy Saints have become my companions. || 3 || Taking me by the hand, He has given me everything, and blended me with Himself. ਬਾਰਹ ਮਾਹਾ ਮਾਂਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੪ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ਮਾਘਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂਆ ਧੂੜੀ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਕਰਮ ਮਲੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥ ਕਾਮਿ ਕਰੋਧਿ ਨ ਮੋਹੀਐ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਲੋਭੁ ਸੁਆਨੁ ॥ ਸਚੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਗਲ ਪੁੰਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਇਆ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਵੈ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥ ਮਾਘਿ ਸੁਚੇ ਸੇ ਕਾਂਢੀਅਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੧੨॥  ਅਰਥ: ਮਾਘ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਘੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਬੜਾ ਪੁੰਨ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਬੈਠ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ (ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰ, ਉਥੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ, ਹੋਰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਵੰਡ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ (ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇਗੀ, ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ। (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਕਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸੀਦਾ, ਲੋਭ-ਕੁੱਤਾ ਭੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਲੋਭ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਦਰ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਇਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰਮ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨੀ ਜੋ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਮੰਨੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ–) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ। ਮਾਘ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਆਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।12। BAARAH MAAHAA ~ THE TWELVE MONTHS: MAAJH, FIFTH MEHL, FOURTH HOUSE: ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU: In the month of Maagh, let your cleansing bath be the dust of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Meditate and listen to the Name of the Lord, and give it to everyone. In this way, the filth of lifetimes of karma shall be removed, and egotistical pride shall vanish from your mind. Sexual desire and anger shall not seduce you, and the dog of greed shall depart. Those who walk on the Path of Truth shall be praised throughout the world. Be kind to all beings—this is more meritorious than bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage and the giving of charity. That person, upon whom the Lord bestows His Mercy, is a wise person. Nanak is a sacrifice to those who have merged with God. In Maagh, they alone are known as true, unto whom the Perfect Guru is Merciful. || 12 ||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਾਰੇ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੋ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਟਿਓ ਭਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥ ਭਜੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਈ॥ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਤ ਆਵੈ ਕਤ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤ ਬੇਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥੩॥ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਬਿਗਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੩॥ ਸ਼ਨਿਚਰਵਾਰ, ੧੪ ਪੋਹ (ਸੰਮਤ ੫੫੬ ਨਾਨਕਸ਼ਾਹੀ) (ਅੰਗ: ੬੧੫) ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ: ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ । (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਕਾਮ ਕੋ੍ਰਧ (ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ) ਜ਼ਹਰ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕਠਨ ਹੈ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰੱਖ ਕੇ, ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ । ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਭਰਮ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ । (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ (ਦਿੱਸ ਪਏਗਾ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਸ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਹ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ) ਮੇਹਨਤ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਈ । (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਹਾਰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਸਲੀ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੇ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ । ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗਲੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ), ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ।੪।੧੨।੨੩। English Translation:  SORAT'H, FIFTH MEHL:  Sing the Glorious Praises of the Perfect, Imperishable Lord, and the poison of sexual desire and anger shall be burnt away. You shall cross over the awesome, arduous ocean of fire, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. || 1 || The Perfect Guru has dispelled the darkness of doubt. Remember God with love and devotion; He is near at hand. || Pause || Drink in the sublime essence, the treasure of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and your mind and body shall remain satisfied. The Transcendent Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere; where would He come from, and where would He go? || 2 || One whose mind is filled with the Lord, is a person of meditation, penance, self-restraint and spiritual wisdom, and a knower of reality. The Gurmukh obtains the jewel of the Naam; his efforts come to perfect fruition. || 3 || All his struggles, sufferings and pains are dispelled, and the noose of death is cut away from him. Jesus Followers' Personal Relationship with Jesus Comes from Humility as Sinners Through Seeking God's Mercy in Prayer MESSAGE SUMMARY:  We do not deserve it; but we able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, because of His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am; have mercy on me a sinner.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Pastor Chris preaches about biblical judgment.  When there is righteous judgement, that is when the Holy Spirit is at work.  It's not just about saying “I forgive you” and having reconciliation. Here You Are in Your Sins Without One Plea for Innocence; Would You Rather Plea for God's Justice or Mercy? MESSAGE SUMMARY:  We do not deserve it; but we are able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, to plea for His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am without one plea; have mercy on me a sinner.     TODAY'S PRAYER: Surely it is God who saves me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. For the Lord is my stronghold and my defense, and He is my savior. Therefore, you shall draw water with rejoicing from the springs of salvation. And on that day, you shall say, “Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His Name; make His deeds known among the peoples; see that they remember that His Name is exalted.”. Amen. In Micah 6:8 we are called to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly. What if I told you the key to understanding this mandate is found in the middle? In our previous message we explored what it means to Love Mercy. Loving mercy is a life lived through The Man in the Middle; Christ Jesus and surrendering to God's will for our lives. As we simply fall in love with Mercy we then have the ability to walk humbly. Once we understand what it means to walk humbly with God, we can then move on to acting justly. In this messaging we explore the danger of trying to act justly without first loving mercy and walking humbly with God. When we do, we find ourselves using Justice as a weapon against an enemy and forget that we were an enemy as well who God called out in our sin by His Mercy.

How God Used Handwriting, Graphology, to help me see I only knew about God and had not received Him in my heart for salvation! My Books: Amazon.com/Richard-A-Hardin/e/B09J2YHCVB *The Handwriting Analysis (Graphology) helps us separate our individual personal characteristics so we can understand better how or why we respond in certain ways. **Today I will share how God used (Graphology) Handwriting Analysis to help me realize that His Word (Christ) that I had learned through the 20+ years of going to church, and getting baptized at age 9 was not doing me any good and was not alive in my heart. It is hard for a person who thinks they are a Christian to realize that they only have head knowledge. I thank the Lord so much for sparing me in His Mercy so I could come to the truth to receive His Word, Christ, in my heart to perform the work of Grace for my new changed heart to become a child of God! Jesus Followers' Personal Relationship with Jesus Comes from Humility as Sinners Through Seeking God's Mercy in Prayer MESSAGE SUMMARY:  We do not deserve it; but we able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, because of His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am; have mercy on me a sinner.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. How God Used Handwriting, Graphology, to help me see I only knew about God and had not received Him in my heart for salvation! My Books: Amazon.com/Richard-A-Hardin/e/B09J2YHCVB *The Handwriting Analysis (Graphology) helps us separate our individual personal characteristics so we can understand better how or why we respond in certain ways. **Today I will share how God used (Graphology) Handwriting Analysis to help me realize that His Word (Christ) that I had learned through the 20+ years of going to church, and getting baptized at age 9 was not doing me any good and was not alive in my heart. It is hard for a person who thinks they are a Christian to realize that they only have head knowledge. I thank the Lord so much for sparing me in His Mercy so I could come to the truth to receive His Word, Christ, in my heart to perform the work of Grace for my new changed heart to become a child of God! It was totally His mercy because I sure didn't deserve it in any way! Romans 2:4 tells of the blessings of unmerited favor (mercy) that leads us to receive the Grace (God's Spirit) into our hearts for salvation, "Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God(mercy) leadeth thee to repentance?" and to receive Grace, God's Spirit, into our hearts .***It is very difficult to change a belief! Most of us must have something very drastic happen before we will admit we are wrong and accept a new belief. The Apostle Paul is an extreme example of a person who loved God enough that when he found out he was persecuting the people of the real God, Jesus, the first thing he asked Jesus was, "Lord what would you have me do." I hope what happened to me will encourage you to consider your own personal salvation and at least listen to some of my podcasts. It is very difficult to change a belief! Most of us must have something very drastic happen before we will admit we are wrong and accept a new belief. Saint Faustina writes in her Diary: “My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the First Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy” (Diary #699).What will it be like to contemplate the love and mercy of God for all eternity? To some, this might not at first seem that appealing. Won't it become boring if all we do for all eternity is contemplate God's mercy? If that is a question that resonates with you, then the reason this idea initially lacks appeal is because you cannot fathom how fulfilling and glorious this will be. Jesus said, “My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity.”God willed that this Sunday, the eighth day of the Octave of Easter, be celebrated as the Feast of Mercy. By placing this Feast on the last day of the Octave of Easter, God is telling us that the message of this Feast reveals the ultimate purpose of our lives. Easter is the culmination of the perfect plan of redemption. And Divine Mercy Sunday is the culmination of that perfect plan. Therefore, nothing is more important than trying to understand the message this Feast presents.By analogy, if you were given a new car but never drove it, the car would be of no use. Or if you won the lottery and the money simply sat in your account unused, what's the benefit? Or if you were gravely ill and were given a medicine that would cure that illness but you never took it, then you would remain ill. So also, if we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus, but never allow the Mercy that is given by that act to transform us, then we have missed the point. The Divine Mercy is the point of life. It's the only thing worth seeking. It's the only source of satisfaction and fulfillment. It's the only cure for our ills. It's the only source of true riches. In three short words: It Is Everything!When Jesus says that our eternity will be spent contemplating His Mercy, He doesn't only mean that this is something we will do after we die. True, the fullness of the revelation of His Mercy will be set before us when we enter into the Beatific Vision and contemplate God forever. But “eternity” includes today. It includes the here and now. Therefore, our contemplation of The Divine Mercy must be the single most important goal in our life today. When it is, everything else in life will fall into place in support of this goal.In order to make the contemplation of The Divine Mercy the most important goal of your life, you must begin to understand it. That's why we were given this special day, this most solemn Feast of Mercy. Therefore, use this day as an opportunity to deepen your contemplation of this Gift. Begin by reading about God's Mercy as it was revealed to us through Saint Faustina. Try to spend time reading Jesus' words, His explanations, descriptions and revelations about His Mercy. As you do, if you find that it remains incomprehensible, don't worry. It is incomprehensible! However, since Jesus promised us that our eternity would be spent in contemplation of His Mercy, then we must believe that the more deeply we enter into that contemplation now, the more glorious our lives will become. If we can truly taste of this Mercy, gain a small glimpse of its grandeur, and comprehend even a small aspect of its meaning, then we will truly find much satisfaction in this endeavor. Reflect, today, upon The Divine Mercy. As you do, humble yourself through prayer by admitting to God and to yourself that His Mercy is beyond what you will ever comprehend. Do this in prayer. Reading about God's Mercy is important, but it will only be through prayer that we begin our contemplation. And it will only be through this contemplation that we will begin to live the central purpose of our lives. Glorious Divine Mercy, pour down upon me; open my mind to Your depth and breadth. Help me to begin to contemplate You in Your fullness so that I can begin my eternity with You now. My loving Savior, You have revealed so much about Your Mercy.
