In episode #303, we're joined by former NHL Head Coach and upcoming presenter at June's TCS Live coaching conference Greg Cronin. Cronin was recently let go as the Head Coach of the Anaheim Ducks after spending two seasons with the franchise. He has enjoyed a remarkable and nearly 40 year run as a hockey coach, which began at Colby College and includes playing a role in getting the US National Development Team Program off the ground. After eight seasons with the New York Islanders organization, he returned home to Boston as the Head Coach of Northeastern University, the program his father captained. He returned to the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs and was named Head Coach of the Ducks in 2023 after a successful run with the Colorado Eagles, the Avalanches' AHL affiliate. You can catch Cronin at this June's TCS Live as he dissects individual skills on the forecheck. Listen as he shares the illumination of player development, his guide to creating reliable players, and insights into his forechecking philosphy.

Send us a textMorgan Geekie shares his journey from small-town Manitoba to becoming a 33-goal scorer for the Boston Bruins, highlighting the importance of resilience and embracing your unique development path in professional hockey.• From being drafted 90th overall in the WHL to 67th in the NHL after being overlooked in his first year of eligibility• Started this season as a healthy scratch before scoring more goals than NHL stars like Nathan McKinnon and Jack Eichel• Growing up in Strathclair, Manitoba (population ~700) and developing alongside his brothers, including Connor Geekie• The mental challenges of transitioning from being a fan to playing alongside NHL stars you once idolized• Importance of time spent in the AHL for proper development and appreciation of the NHL• How Boston's team culture, where "everything is earned," helped shape his professional approach• Balancing old school and new school hockey mentalities as someone who bridges the generational gapThe lesson from Morgan's story is powerful: everyone's development timeline is different, and the path to success isn't linear. Control what you can control, embrace where you are, and keep pushing forward - your ceiling might be higher than you imagine.

You try to follow the Qur'an and Sunnah—then you're told you're rigid. You quote the Salaf—then you're labelled a Wahhabi. And why do others accuse you of being extreme—for simply following what the Salaf believed? This lecture tackles these tensions head-on—through the words of early and authentic voices of Ahl al-Hadith. Study the book I'tiqad A'immah al-Hadith by Imam Abu Bakr al-Ismaʿili (d. 371H). With Shaikh Dr. Asim Al-Qaryooti, we explore how the true Imams of the Sunnah understood and lived their creed. The book dismantles many modern doubts and deviations by clearly stating what the Salaf believed regarding: - Allah's Names and Attributes - The authority of authentic Hadith in Aqeedah—even if it's Aahaad - Rejecting blind following when it clashes with the Qur'an and Sunnah - Avoiding philosophy, kalam, and speculative theology, and returning to the clear guidance of revelation - True loyalty to the Imams—by following their principles, not their mistakes This is the creed that stood the test of time. A creed based on the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the understanding of the first three generations. If you've ever struggled with the tension between following the evidence and adopting Taqleed… if you've been told that affirming Allah's Attributes means you're anthropomorphising… or if you want to know what the scholars of Hadith actually believed—this is the session to watch. Clear. Grounded. Unapologetic. This is the Aqeedah of Ahl al-Hadith.
