Leonard Muise is the man behind Gleneagles, the home of the San Francisco Open. He was on our live broadcast at SFO and he had so much fun he wanted another crack at it. With Krash at Delfest DC and Double A had a great conversation with Leonard about everything going on, we had to break into two parts. Leonard tells us all about how he got into disc golf, what discs sports were like when he played and how he got into a TD and course designer role. It was a great conversation about disc golf and where the sport of disc golf is heading. It was a fascinating conversation about course design and all that entails in it. The Bay Area and the San Francisco Disc Golf Club are lucky to have someone like Leonard in their corner. If you want to know more about Leonard and course design, find him at Whirlwind Disc Golf. Find us at OTBdiscs.com and on Instagram at @OTBdiscs and @JamminwiththeBest

SFO course designer and Whirlwind Disc Golf owner Leonard Muise joins us at the San Francisco Open. Leonard has designed one of the best courses in California in Gleneagles. It is a really top tier course designed for the pros. It challenges every aspect of your game and the pros really seem to appreciate it. Leonard has a mind for course design and really breaks down how every player will shoot and the scoring averages for each hole before the holes are even played. Leonard really dives into how he approaches course design and how he breaks down how to adjust courses to play the way they should. Check it out and stay tuned for more from Leonard coming soon!! This year for the first time ever disc golf had a major sponsorship from the Cannabis industry. Sean Jack, Tournament Director for the San Francisco Open, got together with Absolute Xtracts for a sponsorship agreement. The SFO had plenty of representation from ABX, you could see their logo all over, with tons of reps. We got to meet brand manager James Rowan and had one of the most entertaining segments of the evening. James coming from a comedic background killed it on the mic and we got a ton of good conversations regarding disc golf and cannabis. The relation between cannabis and society is continuing to grow and improve. This move helps both disc golf and cannabis feel more legit than ever. The event had an energy to it and you could hear the chatter about ABX just walking around the premises. With both industries on the rise, there could be a great pairing for years to come. Check out James on here and take a listen, the beers were flowing and the boys were a little loose and had some fun. Part 4 from San Francisco Open and we had a special guest, Chris Brophy. Chris works for Innova and was at the SFO representing the company as they were the title sponsor. Chris does a lot of work for Innova and travels around to a lot of the big tournaments. We had a chance to get to know Chris during the 2016 Tim Selinske Masters held in Stockton. We got to talk about some of the celebrities that are pushing disc golf, bands like Rebelution have been playing and we get some really cool stories about the factory. Check out everything Brophy has to say and keep an eye out for more from SFO. Check out our website OTBdiscs.com Follow our Instagram @JamminwiththeBest and @OTBdiscs.com
Nate Perkins, @perksofdiscgolf on Instagram, stopped by after his round on Saturday at the San Francisco Open and talked to us about the tour life. Krash, Double A, and DC dove deep into Nates views on what it takes to be a disc golfer and the effort and creativity required. Nate has one of the best selling tour series discs on the market with the Night Strike and Night Strike II, the color glow C-line FD. He has been pushing the sales of the disc and that has helped keep him on tour. We talked stamp design and some of the dope names out there making disc golf art. Check out more of our time with Nate and hear what he has to say about the gorgeous property that is Gleneagles. All while drinking a beer or two the Windjammer way. Here is a video of Clara Hsu at the Sacred Grounds Cafe, Feb. 09. Here is a little about Clara from her web site http://clarahsu.com : When she was a little girl, Clara wanted to be a hermit and martial artist living in the mountains of China. Life's mysterious path took her to the United States. In this reality, she practices the art of multi-dimensional being: mother, musician, philanthropist, activist, purveyor of Clarion Music Center (a world music shop of exotic musical instruments), traveler, and ultimately, poet. Clara was a nominee for the Pushcart Prize in poetry (2001). Some of her poems can be found in the Homestead Review, the North Coast Review, the Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, and the internet journal Red River Review. Her poem on censorship was published in 2003 by the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance. Clara gives feature readings at various Bay Area venues and benefit events, but her home is the Sacred Grounds Café (Hayes and Cole), where poetry reading happens every Wednesday night. In December 2005, Clara sold her music business of 23 years to focus on her art and her unusual performance ensemble Lunation, which combines Chinese and original poetry with Asian traditional instruments. She is also developing the concept of the Poetry Hotel, organizing free social activities for the poet community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
