Graduation. Marriage. Parenthood. A new job. A hard diagnosis. An unexpected loss. Retirement. Every one of those moments turns our hearts toward the future and makes us ask what comes next. Now the answer may look different in different seasons. What comes next after high school is not the same as what comes next in retirement. But I believe there is an answer to that question that fits every season, every transition, and every circumstance of life. Turn with me to Hebrews 12:1–3.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:1-3

Many people think God is disappointed in them. Many people think they have to earn God’s love. Many people think they’re not good enough yet. But the message of Easter tells a completely different story. When Jesus went to the cross, He had His eyes on something. He had His eyes on YOU. In this message, we talk about what it means to keep our eyes on the prize, how Jesus has always had His eyes on us, and how understanding this changes the way we live, the way we run our race, and the way we see Easter. If you’ve ever wondered if God really loves you, if your life matters, or if you’re too far gone for God to care, this message is for you. This message is part of our Eyes on the Prize series as we head toward Easter. Scripture Referenced Hebrews 12:1–2 Luke 15 ABOUT FREEDOM CHURCH LOS ALAMOS Freedom Church exists to help people find freedom in Christ and live the life God created them to live. If this message encouraged you, make sure to subscribe and share it with someone who needs encouragement today.
As we begin another year, we are reminded from Hebrews 12:1-3 that perseverance in the upcoming months depends not on more effort but on more seeing—seeing Jesus clearly, trusting His strength, and following His perfect example. Let us fix our eyes on Christ!

The Bible gives us a lot of examples of men and women who had great faith- but is that same faith possible for us? It is, if you know how to run. God says that all of us are on a race trying to get closer to God: some of us are at the wrong starting line, some of us are running with extra weight, and some of us are wandering around in circles. Thankfully, God gives us the perfect example of faith through His Son Jesus Christ. Come check out the finale to our Footsteps of the Fatihful series as we look at Jesus' faith in the Father, and how to run unhindered.
Sunday, February 19, 2023 – We are still studying how to live a victorious Christian life and using Hebrews 12:1-3 as our text. Today's message title is "Run with Purpose – There's Joy Ahead." The writer says, "for the Joy set before Him, He endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right of the Father." There's a lot of 'meat' in this short passage. Our focus is understanding the "JOY" set before Jesus as He suffered on the cross. What was the Joy? How can He have Joy amid intense suffering? Can we have Joy amid our suffering? How did Jesus handle the shame of the cross? We try to answer these questions and more in our study. You're encouraged to listen in and learn with us…

Sunday, February 5, 2023 - The message today is "Preparing to Run the Race." Whether it's a 100-yard dash or a 26-mile marathon, running a race requires preparation. Being properly prepared is the key to finishing, let alone winning. Similarly, preparing to run the "Christian race" requires adequate preparation. It's safe to say that many people that have given up on the Christian race probably were not prepared at the beginning and were given proper expectations of what to expect along the way. That's what this message is about. Our text is Hebrews 12:1-3. The writer of Hebrews instructs the runners (you and I) to throw off the things that hinder and the Sin that so easily entangles - before - one starts the race. We will discover the differences between the things that "hinder" and the "sin." Hindrances make the race more complex and challenging; Sin is a disqualifier. And there's so much more to discuss regarding hindrances potentially turning into Sin and, just as importantly, becoming "Stumbling Blocks" to those watching our race. There's much to learn here, so you're encouraged to join us in worship and listen to the message. Once again, preparation for the race is the key...

All the characters in Hebrews lived their lives focused on the future Messiah (Hebrews 11:13). They kept their eyes fixed on the distance, and this motivated their faith in their present moment. As you move onward in your journey, firmly set your gaze on Jesus.

Sunday, January 29, 2023 - Due to computer issues, it took a little longer than normal to get Sunday's message online. This week we are talking about a topic that probably no one likes to discuss. "Accountability". When we read scripture, we see God created mankind to live a life of accountability. Yet, the flesh man in all of us rebels against the thought. We like to be our own boss, and that means we think that we shouldn't have to be accountable to anyone. If one is honest, accountability is the one thing that helps us all stay in balance. We should prayerfully seek out an accountability partner(s), and by doing so, we can help each other be accountable to God and in turn, have a full and successful life. Listen to worship and study with us.

Joy robbers: circumstances, comparison, confusion Joy restorers: renew my commitment, refuse to compare myself, realign my priorities
1st Big Question: Are you celebrating and living the life Christ Promised You? 2nd Question: Are there reasons you can think of that hinder you from celebrating this kind of life? Side Question: Are you being hindered from celebrating because of an issue in your life?
Five Questions For You to Ponder: 1. What is your long-term hindrance (v1-5) 2. What is your excuse? (v7)……….It may be valid or misperceived by you! 3. What do you need to do? (v8-10) 4. Who is hindering your advancement? (v11-13) 5. What specific sin can throw your life off the rails? (v14-15)
