While the Rambam's understanding of providence, revelation, and miracles was articulated through the science of his time, his goal was never to innovate a lone philosophy, but to express the timeless truths of the Torah's sages in the intellectual language of his era. Many assume that if the physics is outdated, the metaphysics must be too—but that assumption reflects a deep misunderstanding of how firmly Maimonides stood within the mainstream tradition. We explore how this unified worldview—shared by the overwhelming majority of the Rishonim—preserves the harmony between Torah, reason, and reality. The discussion also considers the role of Kabbalah as another mode of expression within that same continuum of truth, while recognizing how easily its metaphors can be distorted when read literally. The conversation culminates with some of the most challenging theological questions: Can God do the impossible? An acclaimed speaker, he's been stimulating audiences throughout Israel, North America, and Europe for over 40 years. For nearly all his career, he's been involved in adult education, principally as a senior rabbinical lecturer at the Orthodox Union (OU) Jerusalem World Center, where he taught for more than 36 years. For over 20 years, he also taught Talmud and Midrash, Biblical commentary, and especially Jewish thought and philosophy at various yeshivot in Israel. Témoignage consommateur de Nathalie & Daniel M., interviewés par Eric lors d'une Visio le 15 avril 2025.----  Nous accueillons aujourd'hui Nathalie et Daniel, un couple complice et fidèle à Kriss-Laure depuis près de 20 ans.En 2005, Nathalie, 31 ans, reprend un programme Kriss-Laure après une première tentative, avec cette fois l'envie de mieux s'alimenter et de préserver sa santé. Peu après, elle rencontre Daniel… qui décide lui aussi de se lancer.Pour lui, c'est un véritable tournant : obèse depuis l'enfance, il a connu les régimes drastiques, les frustrations, puis la chirurgie bariatrique. Avec Kriss-Laure, il découvre une routine simple, efficace, et surtout durable. Daniel perd du poids, fait retirer son anneau gastrique, passe de la taille 48 à 42, retrouve énergie, vitalité, et le goût de vivre.Vingt ans plus tard, Kriss-Laure fait toujours partie intégrante de leur quotidien. Une nutrition pratique et rassurante, qui leur permet de rester en forme, sans charge mentale ni privation.

Které předvolební sliby ekonomy děsí nejvíc? Hostem Ptám se já byl ekonom z think-tanku Idea při Cerge-EI Daniel Münich. Necelý měsíc před volbami do Poslanecké sněmovny většina stran konečně odtajnila své recepty pro Česko na příští čtyři roky. Naposledy v pondělí představilo svůj program opoziční hnutí SPD, které slibuje například levnější potraviny a energie, dostupnější bydlení i zdravotnictví a zároveň odmítá zvyšování daní.Ještě velkorysejší je ve svých slibech favorit těchto voleb. Opoziční hnutí ANO expremiéra Andreje Babiše v obsáhlém a velmi podrobném programu láká mimo jiné na zrušení změn penzijního systému, které prosadila dosluhující vláda, zvyšování důchodů a platů, obnovení některých daňových slev nebo snižování daní. Řada ekonomů upozorňuje, že pokud by ANO vyhrálo a skutečně by po volbách naplnilo svůj program, prohloubilo by to výrazně deficit státního rozpočtu a zadlužení státu. „V podstatě to bude poslední výdajová párty této země. Potom začnou této zemi vládnout finanční trhy a nějaká brutální finanční konsolidace, kde už se nikdo nebude ptát, jestli to bolí, nebo ne,“ shrnul možné dopady plánů ANO ekonom Daniel Münich v Ptám se já.  „Myslím, že ANO i dovládne, za ty čtyři roky se dá poměrně dobře utrácet. We sit down with Professor Berel Dov Lerner, finalist for the Rabbi Sacks Book Prize, to explore his phenomenal book Human–Divine Interactions in the Hebrew Scriptures: Covenants and Cross-Purposes. With a background in philosophy, Prof. Lerner examines how God's project—creating a worthy world—intersects with humanity's project of making life in this world more livable. How do divine and human interests become intertwined? How does God take human concerns into account? And how do we, in turn, project our own moral frameworks onto God, expecting to relate to Him on our terms? Our conversation ranges widely: from negative theology to the Ramḥal's vision of humanity's role in drawing divine abundance into the world through covenants and moral action. We ask whether God's plan would be acceptable if it belonged to a human being, and we explore how the Flood and Sodom narratives reveal God “tying His hands” with moral imperatives. Why does God honor His covenant with Avraham even when Sodom fails to uphold the Noahide baseline? And how does the Berit Ben HaBetarim (Covenant of the Pieces) differ from other, more reciprocal covenants? We tackle imitatio Dei (imitation of God) in the context of Korah's rebellion, and Rambam's provocative claim that we must emulate the God of nature—not the God of history—while still confronting the reality of destruction in the natural world. Prof. Lerner offers a close reading of the seemingly genocidal command to wipe out Amalek, revealing that it may not mean what it appears to. We turn to Jonah's inner conflict—his fear for Israel's future under Assyrian oppression—and consider whether God's use of the kikayon plant is a moment of divine sarcasm. Finally, we grapple with the Akeidah: Why does Avraham argue for Sodom but not for Yitzḥak? And what does his silence tell us about the real nature of this test? An acclaimed speaker, he's been stimulating audiences throughout Israel, North America, and Europe for over 40 years. For nearly all his career, he's been involved in adult education, principally as a senior rabbinical lecturer at the Orthodox Union (OU) Jerusalem World Center, where he taught for more than 36 years. For over 20 years, he also taught Talmud and Midrash, Biblical commentary, and especially Jewish thought and philosophy at various yeshivot in Israel.
