We know this is one of the things which Jesus said while being crucified. We might just explain this by saying that Jesus did what He was sent by His Father to do. This of course is true, but when we look at everything which Jesus accomplished and fulfilled in His life and death, we are again in awe of God and the purposes which He achieved in His Son Jesus Christ.

Worry has a way of sneaking in and taking over, but Ephesians 3:20-21 reminds us of something worry can’t compete with: a God who is able—able to do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we ask, imagine, or fear. When anxiety rises, God invites us to remember His power, His faithfulness, and His perfect track record. From parting seas to opening parking spaces to carrying us through life-changing moments, He proves again and again that nothing is too big or too small for His care. Highlights God interrupts our worry with reminders of His presence and power. Scripture anchors us when our minds want to spiral into fear. God cares for both the “small things” and the monumental moments of our lives. Nothing can thwart God’s plans—His purpose always prevails. We worry because our vision is limited, but God sees the whole story. Remembering past faithfulness strengthens our confidence in present battles. Goring Bible Reading: “ Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” - Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV “Why are you worried?” God interrupted my thoughts with this question to ponder before I could start a downward spiral in my mind. He then put the lyrics to a song I hadn’t heard in years into my head. The song “He’s Able” by Deitrick Haddon ministered to my spirit and lifted my thoughts heavenward. It was through the message of this song and reading Bible verses that support it that God breathed new life into me and reminded me that He is still in control. He let me know I can always take my concerns to Him. The Bible says we are to “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT). But how often do we keep our worries in our grasp and push God away? Perhaps we think that ruminating over our problems will somehow solve them. I’ve learned that way never works! The good news is that we have a Savior (Jesus Christ) who is exceptionally good at saving us from everyday disasters and ultimately, saving our souls (John 3:16-17) so we can make it into our final destination (Heaven). Over the years, I’ve learned that when worry comes knocking on the door of my mind, I need to remember who God is and let His Son (Jesus Christ) answer that door and send worry running away from me for good. I’ve found that when worried, it helps to remember Bible stories of how God delivers His people. One of my favorite scriptures to illustrate that point is the story about when God parted the Red Sea for His children (the Israelites) to pass safely to the other side then He drowned their enemies who were in pursuit behind them by returning the sea to its natural form! This is the same God who is alive today. The same Lord who is available to help us 24/7/365 because He never sleeps nor slumbers (Psalm 121:4). When worried, it is important to recall God’s faithfulness to us. He is Almighty, Sovereign, Faithful, and True to me and you. God is able to accomplish everything He has planned for our lives on Earth and in the world at large. No human or evil supernatural force can thwart God’s plans. His purpose always prevails (Proverbs 19:21). Nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37)! So why do we worry? I think it’s because we’re still human, mere mortals with finite vision. But the good news is we serve an Immortal God with infinite vision! The Bible says that God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). He’s planned out all the days of our life (Psalm 139:16), and He knows what He’s doing. God has a perfect track record of being trustworthy, and He does all things with perfection. God shows up for us in little ways and big ways. Such as the time when I needed a parking space in an office lot that is often full. Recently, as I prepared for an appointment, I prayed about this on my drive to that small space, and when I arrived, there were four empty parking spaces! This proved to me that God cares about the small things. When I was in my last few weeks of graduate school, our professor told us that if we made more than two mistakes on our final paper, then we would fail her class and not graduate. I asked all my God-fearing family and friends to pray for me about this serious situation, and God answered our prayers! I passed her final class and received my graduate degree. This proved to me that God cares about the big things! In closing, I’d like for you to listen to this song, “He’s Able” by Deitrick Haddon, then remember that God is a loving Heavenly Father who provides for all our needs daily. So next time you feel a wave of worry crashing over you, reach out to Him. He’s always there. Our Lifeguard (Jesus Christ) walks on water. He won’t let us drown. We just need to remember that He is able to rescue us, sustain us, and help us reach our true home (Heaven). This is a unique place in the law where the people cry out to God for mercy because there is nothing they can do to atone for the sins of the land. This re-enactment of an unsolved murder with a heifer demonstrates the inability to "fix" the problem of bloodguilt before God and asks Him to atone for them - which He eventually does for those who are justified by faith through His Son Jesus Christ.
God is still speaking today. In this address, we look into how god speaks to us and discover how He reveals Himself through His Word, by His Spirit, and in the person of His Son Jesus Christ — guiding, correcting, and encouraging all who listen with open hearts. STEPHEN'S DEFENSE (Acts 6:7 to 7:16) Stephen was one of the great men of faith in the new church. He was of honest report, he was filled with the Holy Ghost, and he was full of wisdom. He was a man blessed of God. The Apostles, and the new group of disciples, are proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the focus of the new religion now, and that the Temple, and the sacrificial based system of religion, has become irrelevant. It was, and still is, irrelevant because the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross has paid the penalty for all sin, once and for all. No longer do people need to bring their sacrifices to the priests to obtain forgiveness for sin. They can go directly to God through His Son Jesus Christ, and ask for forgiveness and obtain eternal life based on the grace of God, not the religious ceremonies put forth by the Temple system of worship. God is not restricted to speaking through any special person, place, or building. He doesn't need the Pope and the Vatican, a Jewish High Priest and his Temple, or a preacher in a Christian church building, to communicate with those He wishes to communicate with. God can and does reveal Himself when and where He wills, just as He did with Abraham. The Bible shows us over and over that there is a movement and a process in God's dealings with man, and it is seen in the different covenants and dispensations that God has made with man. As we go through this, I want you to think about what our own focus of worship is on today. Is our church building and the songs we sing, and the ceremonies we perform each Sunday, the focus of our faith, or are they the tools we use to worship the true, almighty, living God? "In him we live and move and have our being." When Paul quoted the Greek poet Epimenides at Mars Hill in Acts 17, the Athenian philosophers weren't confused—they knew exactly what he was referencing. Their council of gods. In this LIVE from Blurry Con preview, Dr. Joel Muddamalle explains that Greek philosophy included a divine hierarchy ruling over nations and territories, strikingly similar to what Scripture describes in Deuteronomy 32:8. When God judged humanity at Babel, He didn't just scatter the nations—He disinherited them, assigning each to divine beings called "sons of God." These weren't decorative angels; they were governing authorities with real power over territories. The Greeks called them gods. The Hebrews understood them as rebellious divine council members. Paul, standing in the intellectual epicenter of the ancient world, used their own theology against them: "That council you worship? They're defeated rebels. The 'Unknown God' you acknowledge but don't know? That's Yahweh—and His Son Jesus Christ has authority over every power you've been serving." Joel walks through how Paul's Mars Hill sermon connects to the entire biblical narrative of spiritual warfare: the serpent's Eden rebellion, Babel's cosmic judgment, Mount Hermon where divine beings (Watchers) descended and corrupted the nations they were supposed to steward, and ultimately Christ's victory reclaiming all territory and authority. This is why Paul could confidently quote Greek poets—he wasn't compromising truth, he was revealing it through a framework the Greeks already understood. Joel explains what the divine council is, why geography matters in spiritual warfare, where demons originate (not fallen angels—Scripture doesn't teach that), how territorial spirits function, and why missions and prayer look different when you understand cosmic geography. The Greeks believed in a council of gods ruling over territories. Paul said: You're right about the structure, but wrong about who's in charge. Christ has defeated them all and reclaimed His rightful dominion. This conversation bridges ancient philosophy, Hebrew theology, and practical spiritual warfare—showing they're not contradictory but complementary when understood correctly. Mark chapter 3 As you read about the crowd that followed Jesus, Mark turns his attention to those whom Jesus called out to be His disciples - and then listened them by name. Those twelve moved from the crowd, to the CALLED-OUT - from darkness to light, from death to life - and that is my prayer for each of you. Being called out means that you have been called INTO the family of God, INTO a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, INTO a new identity as a child of God, and INTO the meaningful, eternal work that the Lord has prepared before hand for you to walk in! But, Jesus also reminds us that we should “count the cost” of following Him - of moving from the crowd of interested and intrigued to the family of God. Think about what it costs those twelve disciples that we mentioned earlier - the eleven that stayed faithful to Jesus all paid a tremendous cost for their relationship with Him. But, as Peter reminds us in John chapter 6, there is no other alternative to following Jesus that makes any sense at all! As Jesus says in John 14, He is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE - if you want access to the Father, it is available through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son (John 3:16).
