This was something new. I did not look at the passage until I shared this with the people in our Facebook Live Chapel service. We walked through the verses with me asking questions. I didn't even have a title for the message at the time. Although I couldn't hear the responses, I asked many questions as we looked at each verse in Ps 141:4-10. It was a devotional-level study, not a deep dive. I had a few people message me afterwards with their thoughts and ideas. It was a good exercise. What will you learn? My friend Mark Schellinger came up with a great title, so I used it. "How To Crash Proof Your Soul". Excellent!

When God calls you forward, do not live looking in reverse. In this message, Pastor Nate unpacks the story of Lot's wife to ask a piercing question: in what direction is your affection? Learn why looking back drains your fruitfulness and how to flip the script by disconnecting from the world and connecting with God through worship, fasting, and prayer.
Pastor Jonathon Musser encourages us to never forget the importance of keeping our eyes on Jesus as we run the race of life. Sunday 11-2-25
Run with Endurance: Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus – Hebrews 12:1–2In this episode of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane unpack Hebrews 12:1–2, one of the most powerful calls to perseverance in Scripture. They explore what it means to throw off everything that hinders, run with endurance, and fix our eyes on Jesus—the author and perfecter of our faith. Through honest reflection and biblical insight, they encourage listeners to stay steadfast in their race, even when it gets hard, knowing that Jesus endured the cross so we could live in freedom and victory.____________________________________Connect with Jamie:Website: www.jamieklusacek.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacekConnect with Jane:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams
This podcast is a continuation of the teachings from God's word by Pastor John Donnerberg.
This week we fix our eyes on Jesus, running the race He's called us to with hope! Remembering that we have encouragement from those who've gone before us, we can let the baggage go that's holding us back and persevere until we reach the end of our race! Discussion Questions: In verse 1, what two things does the writer tell believers to “lay aside”? How do those two (i.e. every weight and the sin that clings closely) function differently in slowing us down in the race of faith? Verse 2 says Jesus is the “pioneer and perfecter of faith.” What actions of Jesus in this verse show what that means? (Look closely at the verbs). What do those teach us about what endurance actually looks like? In verse 3, we’re told to “consider Him.” Based on everything in verses 1–3, what specific things about Jesus’ endurance are we meant to remember, and how does that strengthen weary believers? In what ways do you sense you've grown weary or are growing weary in life today? Was there a particular vantage point that the Lord used to encourage you?
A message from Ant Rist at Forest Town Church, St Albans (UK). Ant continues the series "Faith for Uncertain Times" and preaches on "Fix Your Eyes on Jesus and Consider Him" (Hebrews 12: 1-3).
When we encounter suffering, Peter calls us to lift our eyes to Christ—the one who keeps, strengthens, and restores his people. In this closing message from 1 Peter, we are reminded that humility, faith, and steadfast trust in God are how we endure hardship and resist the enemy. The Christian life, from start to finish, is simply this: keep your eyes on Jesus and stand firm in his grace.
The picture of world events is becoming biblical. The tremor wars, the threats of the mark of the beast system, the rise of Ai and its power to shape reality are all keeping a world's eyes fixated on a coming end of times. Like the Magician, the world's eyes are being led to look where the magicians want you to look. What are they trying to keep your gaze away from? Its really quite simple... our relationship in Christ, the nurturing of love and forgiveness and the daily walk in our local communities to bring the light of the living God into the world. "Your great high priest, who is Jesus Christ, isn't waiting on you to do anything other than surrender to him." - Phillip Dow In this message titled "Keeping Your Eyes on Jesus," Phillip Dow challenges listeners to move beyond simply "having faith" to being intentional and strategic with it. Drawing from Hebrews 12:1-3, he uses a humorous personal story and a vivid anecdote about an entangled hunting dog to illustrate the need to "throw off" sin. Dow emphasizes that Jesus is our pioneering, powerful priestly, and persevering example. His sacrifice on the cross was a joy to Him because of the salvation it offered us, and it means our work is finished. We must fix our eyes on Christ, enduring misunderstanding and opposition, so we do not "grow weary and lose heart." +++++++ You can find our service times on our website: https://www.anctally.com/ You can find sermon highlights on Twitter here: https://x.com/allnationstally

When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can walk through life's storms with faith instead of fear. When Peter steps out of the boat, his eyes fixed on Jesus, faith carries him—butfear sinks him. This message highlights how God speaks to us and calls us to trust Him even in the storm.

Hebrews 12:1-3 - - Mar 1, 2015
When we don't grasp Jesus's power, we will live lives of fear and failure. We'll keep our eyes on our problems instead of fixing them on the Lord who can handle them. Jesus proved to be the Son of God through his power (not just walking on water and multiplying food, but mainly through his resurrection), and when we place our faith in him and look to him, we experience his healing and his saving.

Why is God letting this happen to me? In times of suffering, it's natural for us to ask questions like that. In Hebrews 12, the writer doesn't give us every answer we're looking for, but he does encourage us to fix our eyes on Jesus, who not only helps us understand the purpose of our suffering, but who suffered himself and promises to be with us in our suffering.

But there's hope. We don't run alone.
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” — Matthew 14:31 Have you ever walked on water? I have, but only in the dead of winter, when the ice on a pond has been thick enough to hold my weight. Even then, I've always felt uneasy, especially if I hear an ominous cracking sound. Miraculously, Peter did walk on water. But when he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. After reaching out and catching Peter, Jesus seems to scold him, saying, “You of little faith. . . . Why did you doubt?” But is Jesus really scolding here? After all, Peter had enough faith to begin walking out on the water—and none of the other disciples even got out of the boat. In this story Peter's walking on and then sinking into the water captures the highs and lows of his faith in Jesus. In some ways, we who follow Jesus have had similar experiences, haven't we? In our daily walk with the Lord, we all have moments of faith and moments of doubt. Peter began to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus and noticed with horror the howling wind and the rolling waves. We too begin to sink when we focus on the dangers of life's storms. When Jesus and Peter climbed into the boat, however, the wind and waves died down. Only Jesus, the Son of God and Lord over creation, can do such amazing things. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He will never let you sink. When life's storms overwhelm us, Lord, help us to keep our eyes on you, trusting that we are secure in your hands. Amen.
Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're hitting a hot topic: America jumping into the Israel-Iran war. And I'm just going to say it—I don't think we should've gotten involved. I've supported Donald Trump for years, but I think he got this wrong.Israel just said they didn't need us. This was their fight. Then suddenly, we're bombing a nuclear site and opening doors that didn't need to be opened. And of course, anyone who questions it gets labeled a “panican.” But guess what? The “panicans” are starting to look more and more like prophets, because now, sleeper cells are stirring, and American churches are already under attack. We don't need to be scared, we need to be wise. The Bible calls us to test the spirits, stay watchful, and seek peace when we can. (1 John 4:1, Romans 12:18). So let's talk about it honestly. Because loving your country (and even loving your favorite president) doesn't mean checking your discernment at the door and always being a yes-man.--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee
