Today we're going to bring both sacred seasons (Christmas and Easter) together by focusing on the reason the grace of God appeared.

It's easy for the present to become all-consuming. The Apostle Paul helps us to navigate this by looking back and then ahead in order to give perspective to our present.

As we move into 2023, we need to focus on the Word of God.
Main Point: Christian self-control comes from dependence on the Holy Spirit... 1. What is Self-Control? (Proverbs 25:28; 16:32, 2 Peter 1:5-8) 2. Where Does Self-Control Come From? (2 Timothy 1:5-7, Galatians 5:16-17, 2 Peter 1:3-8, Titus 2:11-14) 3. How Do We Cultivate Self-Control? Titus 2:11-14
Reaching the family with the message of Jesus Christ.
Reaching the family with the message of Jesus Christ.
Our American Christianity is telling us that grace is a means by which we can keep on sinning without consequence. Scripture teaches the exact opposite. Grace teaches us to say 'no' to sin and makes us eager to do what is good.
Have you ever taken the time to think deeply about grace? Have you ever taken the time to study God’s Word about grace? This is a journey for all of us to take together. Today, we will discover that God’s grace is more than forgiveness; he sends his grace to teach us a new way to live…a difficult but necessary balance between Grace and Truth.
Even though grace is the foundation for the Good News of Jesus, even those within the church are wary of "too much grace," believing it pushes people away from a deep relationship with God. Today, we see how grace, properly understood, is the best motivation for a life of true obedience.
We are all about creating environments where you can connect with people just like yourself, learn more about the God of the Bible, and grow in your faith. You will hear encouraging messages for everyone because we are a church for all people.

As we continue to look at how we can pattern our lives after Jesus, we see that He lived a life of self-control, which makes us realize that we need to pursue this quality in our lives as well. But self-control is difficult and uncomfortable, so is it worth the effort? And if it is, how do we pursue it in our lives today? Join us on Sunday as we plan to open the scriptures together and see the blessings associated with a life of self-control, and how we can pursue this quality for ourselves, and those around us as we grow together to become more like Jesus.

Sunday Morning Sermons (10:45 am)
If we have eyes to see it, God has a way of “showing up” in our lives. Scripture refers to such moments as “grace,” because they reveal to us God’s goodness and kindness–his desire to “save” us. But what do we do with grace? Pointing to the “appearing” of God’s grace in Crete, Paul tells Titus that grace is a trainer. Grace is God’s way of inviting us to “train” with him, to become more fully fitted to his purposes by becoming more uniquely his. This message will explore what that “training” looks like in our day to day experience of walking with God.

Three Characteristics of the grace of God that should motivate our walk and our witness. 1) The Saving Grace of God (Titus 2:11) 2) The Sanctifying Grace of God (Titus 2:12-13) 3) The Sacrificial Grace of God (Titus 2:14)

In the passages of scripture that speak most clearly about Spiritual Exercising, the focus remains clear; godliness, righteousness and a life that is pleasing to God. To sum it up, we'd say Spiritual Training is focused on practicing a radical, alien lifestyle modeled on the character of God and motivated by His grace.

2 Peter 1:5-6 "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;"
Grace is the power to live free and change our desires.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions...
Grace appears in the person and personality of our savior Jesus Christ. Salvation is available for all.
Having a hope for the future frees us to live differently, yet the lives of Christians look the same as the lives of others. How do we as Christians live reflecting the Hope we have?

“Do you believe in grace?” We talk as though we understand the term. The bank gives us a grace period. The seedy politician falls from grace. Musicians speak of a grace note. We describe an actress as gracious, a dancer as graceful. We use the word for hospitals, baby girls, kings, and pre-meal prayers. We talk as though we know what grace means. But do we really understand it? Have our churches settled for a wimpy grace? It politely occupies a phrase in a hymn, fits nicely on a church sign. Never causes trouble or demands a response. When asked, “Do you believe in grace?” who could say no? But Have you been changed by grace? Shaped by grace? Strengthened by grace? Emboldened by grace? Softened by grace? Here we begin a series based on Max Lucado's book "Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine"
