Today is a special presentation where I bring you the first hour of the Erick Erickson Show from yesterday where I filled-in for his show. Across the nation, I opened with a discussion of New York City Attorney General Alvin Bragg's zealous attempt to prosecute the former president. On a three hour radio show, I talked about a lot of other subject, but for the purpose of today's episode, I wanted to just isolate that part of the discussion. I lay out the case, both in terms of the history of the actions, how it's gone past the original statute of limitations and is now being litigated as a fraud case. AG Bragg has twisted himself into a legal pretzel to try to find a way to make this stick. His star witness is former Trump attorney and now former convicted felon, Michael Cohen. The problem for Bragg is what happened on the stand Monday in front of the Grand Jury. Witness Robert Costello, a former attorney for Michael Cohen showed Cohen to be a habitual liar. He went so far as to say Michael Cohen couldn't tell the truth if there was a gun pointed at his head. What's even more devastating to Bragg's case is the testimony from Costello noting that hundreds of pages of documents have been turned over, but Bragg only used six total to present to the Grand Jury. According to Costello, this means Bragg is hiding exculpatory evidence from the jury. If that is true, not only does it prove the political witch-hunt this appears to be, but also could put Bragg in a position to be disbarred. Even left-leaning attorney Alan Dershowitz said Bragg can no longer hang his case around Cohen as a witness. As the show was airing live, it seemed there was a noticeable shift in the Legacy/mainstream media toward doubt as to whether or not Bragg would be able to bring an indictment forward. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but I reminded the audience that millions of taxpayer dollars have been used as hush-money payments for years for members of Congress and their staffs. It's amazing that it suddenly becomes a crime when it comes to Donald J. Trump. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. God's lovingkindness has a lot to do with that!

Even with the election mostly in the rear-view mirror, the issue of crime will continue to be a focus in New York as Mayor Eric Adams calls for changes to the state's bail laws and other reforms. Errol talked it over with Scott Hechinger, a former public defender in Brooklyn and the founder of Zealous, a national criminal justice nonprofit. He sat down with Errol for a lengthy discussion about the recent gubernatorial election in New York and what the results indicate about the emerging narrative around bail reform. When you hear the world "zeal" or "zealous" do you think of it as positive or negative, good or bad?  What determines which it is? Should God's people be "zealous?"

One of the easiest things you can do in life is be lazy.  Imagine if you had no responsibilities, had all the wealth you could ever want and could spend your days in luxury and relaxation.  This would foster a very lazy heart and it would also foster a very sad heart.  Rest is good, but excessive rest can turn into laziness and laziness ultimately becomes very boring.  This fact reveals the opposite truth also.  Namely, a zealous heart is one that finds great excitement in the activities of the day.  Though some may become obsessed with work, becoming a “workaholic,” an appropriate balance of rest and work produces the virtue of a zealous heart.  Are you zealous?  There are many things one can be zealous about in life, and not all of them good or within the Will of God.  But zeal for the salvation of souls, and the bringing forth of the Kingdom of God is a zeal we must all strive to foster.  In fact, our Lord wants you to have this as the highest priority in life.  As you grow in holiness and closeness to our Lord, He will send you forth cultivating the Earth with His Mercy.  Doing this with great zeal wins many souls for the Kingdom and produces abundant joy in your heart (See Diary #1548).Do you struggle with a lazy heart or a zealous one?  If lazy, look at the effects of this in your life.  The boredom and dissatisfaction you experience is a direct result.  If, however, you are zealous and diligent in life, what is it you are zealous for?  Reflect upon this honestly today and seek to grow in a burning zeal for the building up of the Kingdom of God. Lord, I offer to You all my work and my talents.  Use them for Your glory.  Help me to have true zeal for Your Kingdom and to work tirelessly for Your glory.  Jesus, I desire to be an instrument of Your perfect Mercy in the world.  Use me as You will.  Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: www.divinemercy.lifeCopyright © 2022 My Catholic Life! One of the best-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16! Zealous professing Christians have tried to publicize this scripture with large banners at nationally televised football games, and even on large boulders and billboards along the highway. This famous verse holds out awesome hope to all human beings whom God is calling. But few, even professing Christians, really understand the depth of truth enclosed in this profound statement. Jesus Himself stated this truth in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Hidden in this famous verse are eight vital spiritual truths. But for most people, they are eight hidden mysteries. Why? Because they read this verse based on human traditions rather than Christian doctrines based on the Bible!
