When love is tested by violence, trauma, and near-death—what keeps a marriage alive? In this powerful solo episode of Married Into Crazy with Snooks and Lovey, host Snooks shares the dramatic story that started it all: a blind setup that neither wanted, love at first sight (for him), eight days to fall head-over-heels (for her), and a violent assault by an ex that left her future husband with a stabbed heart and TWO open-heart surgeries—all BEFORE the wedding. Nearly 30 years later, Snooks reveals the ONE foundation that saved their marriage when they almost divorced after 4 years: Compassion. This isn't your typical "gentle parenting" or surface-level relationship advice. This is real talk about: ✅ How compassion is "love in action"—not weakness ✅ Why adjusting expectations during tough times saves relationships ✅ The CRAZY acronym framework: Compassionate, Real, Accountable, Zealous, Yielding ✅ How to hear your spouse's heart—not just their words ✅ Breaking generational cycles through empathy and understanding Perfect for couples navigating conflict, parents seeking better communication, or anyone who wants to build a marriage that survives the impossible. Whether you're newlyweds, struggling, or celebrating decades together—this episode offers actionable wisdom from a couple who literally survived it all.

What does it mean to be a truly compassionate husband? In this powerful solo episode of The King's Corner, Lovey goes deep — sharing the jaw-dropping origin story of his 30-year marriage to Snooks, including being tricked into meeting, a violent attack that led to two open-heart surgeries, and a near-divorce that almost ended it all just four years in. But this isn't just a story of survival — it's a masterclass in showing up. Lovey breaks down the C.R.A.Z.Y. acronym — Compassionate, Real, Accountable, Zealous, and Yielding — and dives into the first letter: Compassion. He challenges husbands to drop the ego, stop trying to "fix" everything, and learn the transformative power of simply listening.

Jeremiah 31 verse 33 talks about it. This is my covenant I'll make with the house of Israel. I'll put my law within them and on their heart. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 7th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Book of Numbers 25:10-11: “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel…” Phinehas was zealous for the word of God. Folks, I want to say to you today, we need to be more zealous, more excited, more passionate, more concerned for the things of God. Because Phinehas, the grandson of Aaron, Moses' brother, the High Priest, because of his zeal and his commitment to the Gospel, to saving the people of Israel, the Lord really noticed him. The Lord was so angry with the people of Israel because they had played the harlot with other nations, that He wanted to destroy them, but because of Phinehas' commitment and excitement…I want to ask you a question today. Are you excited about the things of God? You might say, “Uncle Angus, there was a time when I was, but because of the pressures of life and because of the workload, because of the family commitments, I have gone cold.” I want to pray for you today, that God will fill you again with the joy of the Lord and with zeal. You know, they say a new Christian should be locked up for the first six months because he is like a bull in a china shop. I think the Lord prefers that than somebody who just doesn't care anymore, somebody who just goes through the motions. Let me pray for you because we need the fire of God in our hearts, the excitement and joy to finish this race. We won't do it otherwise.Heavenly Father,I pray for my dear friend listening to this message right now. Lord, fill his heart, fill his soul with new fire for Jesus Christ. Lord, open his eyes that he might see there are so many people around him, in the workplace, on the sports field, in the university, in the school, who are desperate for the fire of God. Lord, the fire has almost gone out. There is just a little flame flickering, just flickering. Oh Lord, restore them so that they are zealous for You. I ask this in Jesus' precious name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

Jesus' final words were not a suggestion but a calling. His followers were sent with purpose, authority, and responsibility to carry hope beyond themselves. Some go, many send, all participate. We've all created a version of Jesus that fits comfortably in our pockets—a Jesus who affirms what we already believe, who never challenges our assumptions, who exists primarily to serve our preferences. But John chapter 2 shatters these tiny versions by presenting us with the Lord of both wine and whip. In the wedding at Cana, Jesus reveals himself as extravagantly generous, transforming over 120 gallons of water into the finest wine—not because anyone earned it, but because God's abundance flows freely to those in need. Yet immediately after, we see this same Jesus fashioning a whip and driving merchants from the temple, confronting religious hypocrisy and systems that exploit the vulnerable. These aren't contradictory portraits but complementary revelations of who God truly is. Jesus fills our tables when we need comfort and flips them when we need correction. He liberates us from two distorted views of God: the stingy, legalistic deity who withholds blessing, and the passive, transactional figure we can manipulate through religious performance. The climax comes when Jesus declares himself the true temple—the place where heaven and earth meet, where God and humanity are reunited. His death and resurrection replace all religious transaction with gracious relationship. We're invited not to manage faith or perform for God, but to drink deeply from the wine of his grace while allowing him authority to overturn whatever keeps us from wholeness. The question isn't which Jesus we prefer, but whether we're willing to encounter the real one.

Authentic ministry starts with a servant’s mindset, and Christians searching for purpose will find it in action—zeal for good works is a mark of discipleship, not a pastoral job description. John 12:26 frames service as the pathway to honor from the Father, reminding believers that following Christ means stepping into everyday ministry, wherever life places your feet. Highlights Ministry simply means “to serve,” and every follower of Christ is called into it. Jesus modeled servant leadership as the Servant King—service is imitation before function. The call isn’t to become a pastor, but to live like Jesus. Daily surrender (“die daily”) is less dramatic and more incremental—small yeses, repeated. Excuses shrink when identity grows: you serve because you are His, not to become enough. Service is worship when done in the Spirit’s power, not self-reliant hustle mode. Zealous good works expand your reach for God’s Kingdom—overflow comes after outpour. Gift Inspiration: Crosswalk's Holiday Gift Guide Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate the season? Full Transcript Below: Zealous for Good Works By: Emily Rose Massey Bible Reading: “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:26, ESV). “Ministry” is from the Greek word diakoneo, meaning “to serve.” At my church, our elders believe that every member of God’s Church is a minister, so obviously that would mean that every believer is called to serve- serve Jesus and serve His Body. Jesus was the servant of all. In fact, He was the Servant King. Christ shares in the gospel of John the importance of serving and following Him as He serves others. “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:26, ESV). Jesus asks us as Christians to lay our lives down continually, denying our wants and desires, or as the Apostle Paul said to do, “die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31). Do we know how to do that? Intersecting Life & Faith: It is human nature to seek after what our hearts and flesh crave, but we do not have to give in to that kind of nature, for we have a new nature in Christ Jesus (Colossians 3:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:24). Some people have wrong thoughts about God and service, perhaps believing their service doesn’t matter because others have it taken care of. Or perhaps they see pastors as the ones who are qualified for service and ministry, so they don’t need to join in. But we are all priests to our God (1 Peter 2:9)! When we put our hands to the plow, so to speak, in ministry, we are worshiping God. Those who are saved by Christ will eagerly and joyfully serve Christ and His people. We have been clothed in Christ’s righteousness to match Him and follow Him. What clothes are you wearing- the world’s or Christ’s? No matter the excuse or wrong thinking regarding ministry and service, we can ask God to help us see the importance of serving the Lord and others. The Holy Spirit empowers us to set aside our selfishness and learn how to be selfless like Jesus, preferring others above ourselves. That kind of lifestyle starts in the mind, in the way we think, as we learn to think of ourselves less and look for ways to put others first. The Lord promises that the Father will honor the one who serves Christ by serving His people. As we learn to prefer others above ourselves, the Lord fills us with His love to the overflow to reach more people for His Kingdom. He will give us zeal for ministry. God is selfless, humble, gracious, and merciful, and as His children, He asks us to follow His example. We cannot do that in our own strength. The Holy Spirit will empower you, and with His grace, to be able to deny your own desires and selfish ambitions. We need God’s help to prefer others above ourselves. God’s Word transforms our minds so that we can learn how to think less of ourselves and seek to serve God and His people. Let us ask God to help us value the call to serve so we can look more like Him, ministering to whoever He puts in front of our path.
