We finish up our series "Faith, Hope, and Love" with a final sermon on love, "Love Supreme," from 1 Corinthians 13.
How many songs do you know about love? Do they even all agree on the definition? We invite you to continue looking at the meaning of this word with us as we look at rightly ordered and disordered love. Reading: Colossians 3:1-3 and 1 John 2:15-17.
An expert in the Mosaic Law once asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Let's take a look at the uncomfortable answer.

In our passage this morning, the Apostle John uses the word "love" 15 times in five verses. John desired that all would know the love of God which was made known in Jesus Christ.
It's easy for the present to become all-consuming. The Apostle Paul helps us to navigate this by looking back and then ahead in order to give perspective to our present.

A look at Peter's words about hope.
Pastor Neil will continue the Faith Sermon Series with a message titled: "Faith That Overcomes" (INCOMPLETE SERMON)
Pastor Neil continues the Faith Series with a message from Hebrews 11:14-16.
Find encouragement to wait patiently with all creation in the hope of redemption.
Series: Faith and Politics (Matthew 5:13-16) In this sermon titled "Faith and Politics: Salt and Light in America," we explore how Christians can effectively engage the culture and bring true transformation to a nation that seems divided and in turmoil. Drawing from Matthew 5:13-16, we uncover what it means to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world—called to preserve righteousness, dispel darkness, and reflect the love of Christ. What is our role as believers in today's political climate? How can we stand for righteousness, vote biblically, and encourage others to do the same? Pastor Matthew challenges us to be agents of change, actively influencing our surroundings with the Gospel, while keeping our eyes fixed on Christ. Join us as we dive deep into how faith intersects with politics, and how we, as Christians, are called to use our voice, our vote, and our actions for God's glory in the public square. Scripture Reference: Matthew 5:13-16 Key Points: Be Salt: Influence and preserve culture through the Gospel. Be Light: Reflect the love of Christ and bring hope to others. Stand for righteousness in your daily life and through voting. Pray for our leaders and our nation.
Do we put more faith in our faith than we do in Jesus?

We often talk of having faith IN Jesus. Today we looked at the faith OF Jesus.
Pastor Neil will continue the Faith Series with a message from 1 Timothy 6: 11-14. titled-"Fight The Good Fight Of Faith" Rather than shrink from the match before us, the apostle Paul urges us to give this fight our best effort! He tells us, “Fight the good fight of faith…” The point we must see in this scripture is that: Paul recognized, that when we step out in faith, we don't just effortlessly glide to the destination God is directing us toward. We must fight the good fight of faith to reach the victorious position that allows us to one day hear those cherished words, “Well done good and faithful servant.” from our Father in heaven.

Pastor Bob unpacks the definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1-3.
Pastor Neil will continue our faith series today with a message titled "Dead Faith" from James 2: 14-17 We're saved by grace, through faith, unto good works. Works doesn't save; grace saves. Our works are proof that we have faith in the grace of God. James 2 teaches us that a body does not have life by acting. It acts because it has life! Faith that does not change a life and does not root in action is dead. Can you say for certain that your faith is alive and not dead?
This message opens our fall series on faith, hope, and love. A look at the apostle Paul's writings gives us much to think about regarding the wrath and love of God.

Even as you face the unknown, even when you can't see the outcome, take the risk because God is surely with you. He goes before you. And He is faithful in rewarding the risks you take to follow Him. Overcoming your pastPast mistakes- if you've been here awhile you have probably heard me talking about mistakes I've made. And I've made alot of them. And sadly I still continue to make them because well..i'm human lol I say all this to give you freedom to receive grace from Jesus in your mistakes. The enemy wants us to dwell on our faults…to feel shame and to stay in that shame so that we can't move in to the freedom God has. BUT if it makes you feel any better you will probably make more mistakes to infinity and beyond but God knows this and when we run to Him with our troubles He is there for us. Ephesians 1:7"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace"So two ways to get over your past- - Bring it to Jesus- He is your healer. You have to bring those mistakes and regrets to the cross, lay them down and let Him carry those burdens for you! -Matt 11:28-30- Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light -Bring it into the light- the more you try to hide your mistakes the easier it is for the enemy to keep you trapped by it. Nothing great happens in the dark. Bring it into the light.2) Past hurts- church hurt or other hurtHurts, trauma pain from the past can hold you hostage and keep you from living in the fullness that God has for you. Whether someone spoke death over you, you were physically hurt, you were hurt in church, some you truly cared for hurt you…whatever the circumstance, not dealing with it will hinder your walk. And I say that in love. We need to again bring these things into the light and allow JEsus to pick up our broken pieces and make us whole in Him! - Let go and forgive-Bring your hurt to GodRemember you are an overcomer! God IS making a way. God wants you to have an abundant full life in Him. Some of these things feel difficult and your first instinct may be to run and hide cause you don't want to deal…i get that! BUT don't you want more? Don't you want to find peace and joy and be released from the pain? Then come on girl, let's put in some work so you can find healing and overcome!! Gospel Scripture: (all NIV) Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:24 “and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:25 (a) “God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.” Hebrews 9:22 (b) “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:11 “Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Luke 15:10 says “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 1:13–14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Ps 51:15-17(NIV)Open my lips, Lord and my mouth will declare your praise, You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. TPT(The Passion Translation)Lord God, unlock my heart, unlock my lips and I will overcome with my joyous praise! For the source of your pleasure is not in my performance or the sacrifices I might offer to you.The fountain of your pleasure is found in the sacrifice of my shattered heart before you.You will not despise my tenderness as I humbly bow down at your feet. As we learn to have closeness and intimacy with God, this is a great example of how to get there. David is declaring the goodness of God and bringing a heart of surrender to God as a sacrifice of praise! We don't need to perform or be perfect.
