The Sabbath has a life-giving ability to PROCREATE. That's because the Sabbath fills your world with life - with energy, creativity, vision, strength, optimism, clarity - and even hope. You're MORE productive (not LESS) when you rest - regularly. You're MORE creative (not LESS) when you rest - regularly. That's why we receive the Sabbath as a gift - because it gives LIFE - and helps us to be HUMAN.

In this message, we explore how the Fourth Commandment reveals the Sabbath not as a burdensome rule but as a gracious gift woven into Creation itself—a holy rhythm of work and rest that reminds us who God is and who we are. We see that to “remember” the Sabbath is to live in light of God’s covenant faithfulness, trusting Him as both Creator and Deliverer. The Sabbath protects us from turning work into slavery, restores dignity to every person, and declares that our time ultimately belongs to the Lord. Most importantly, it points beyond a day to a Person—Jesus Christ—who fulfills the promise of true rest and invites us to stop striving and enter the finished work of His grace.

Studying the fourth commandment, we are reminded there is an endless cycle of exhaustion here on earth and God gives us the commands to rest.

Corrie ten Boom once said that if the devil can’t make you sin, he’ll make you busy. If the devil can't make you sin, he'll make you busy. Huh? How is that again? That's because both sin and busyness have the exact same effect—they cut off your connection to God, to other people, and even to your own soul. In this message, Max Vanderpool makes a case why you should eliminate hurry from your life.

Are you tired? Feeling over worked? Are you resting in God? This week we continue in our Ten Commandments series as Brett focuses on the fourth commandment of keeping the Sabbath Day holy.
Rest helps us to remember God's work and realize the limits of our own.
Remembering the Sabbath... What does that mean in 2021? Isn't that just something for the Old Testament? Why do we worship on Sunday now when the Sabbath is a Saturday. In this message, we look at how the 4th Commandment still applies to us today and how it pointed to Jesus then.

Series on 10 Commandments, today talking about the 4th Command to honor the Sabbath
We exist to ignite a passion in every person to glorify and enjoy God everywhere and in everything.
God gives the Sabbath so His people can cease their busy-ness and delight their hearts in Him. This points to our ultimate rest in Jesus.
We are often like the pharisees, in that we miss the relational intentions that lie at the heart of God’s commands. Today we talk about the Sabbath rest in the OT and what it means for us today.
Since God demonstrated and provided Sabbath, we should remember and sanctify the Sabbath.
The 4th Commandment is easily forgotten and overlooked: honoring the Sabbath. Why is this one of God's Top 10? Because more than being just about rest, the Sabbath is about trust in God's provision, thankfulness for his deliverance, and being set apart as his people. Those 4 aspects are just as important today as they have ever been, and we will spend eternity enjoying each of them. Are you accepting the gift of work, resting properly, trusting God for sustenance, thanking him for his deliverance, and speaking of him to others when they ask why you Sabbath?
