As we lay every desire, ambition, and fear at Christ's feet, the Holy Spirit aligns our hearts with the Father's purposes and leads us in obedience. When terrible things happen in our communities or around the world, fear can quickly rise in our hearts. But Jesus asks a piercing question: “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef points believers back to the futility of anxiety and the faithfulness of the Father. Our attitude toward possessions often reveals our spiritual temperature. When our homes, cars, education, clothing, bank accounts, or future security become more important than our relationship with Christ, anxiety and fear take root. But when we practice daily surrender—placing our fears, desires, and worries into Jesus' hands—we discover the inner peace only He can give. Dr. Youssef reminds us that God has promised to provide for all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. When anxiety overtakes us, it is often because we have temporarily forgotten the privileges we possess as children of the King. Our future is secure, our deepest longings will be satisfied, and God is working all things for the good of those who love Him. Waiting is never easy, but God's purpose is served when we wait on Him. There are times when God withholds something we deeply desire—a relationship, a job, a possession, or an answered prayer—and our confidence in Him feels tested. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef encourages believers to seek the Lord, wait for His will, and remember that our heavenly Father knows what we need even better than we do. But while God withholds for our good, we often withhold from God to our own harm. When we cling tightly to earthly treasures, possessions, gifts, or plans, we create fertile ground for worry and anxiety. Jesus calls us away from storing up treasures on earth and toward storing up treasures in heaven—living with open hands and eternal priorities. Dr. Youssef points to God's solution for anxiety: trust Him fully and use what He has entrusted to you for His glory. Because of Christ, believers are more than conquerors. We live with the assurance of eternal victory—victory over sin, death, fear, worry, and every earthly loss. Don't be anxious about life. I receive the assurance that You are already working beyond what I can see. I receive. You are my provider. Not limited, not delayed—but faithful and present in every detail of my life. What I need, You see. What I lack, You understand. What I cannot solve, You are already moving within. So I trust You now. I trust You with what is uncertain.  I trust You with what is unfinished. I trust You with what I cannot yet understand. I trust You. As I seek You first, order my steps. Align my priorities. Let my life be shaped by Your presence, not driven by fear or urgency. Because You love me, I am not without provision. Because You love me, I am not without help. Because You love me, I can release what I no longer need to hold. In this convicting installment of the "Kingdom Now" series on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Karl tackles the final section of Matthew 6, where Jesus confronts the disciple's battle with excessive worry.Jesus commands, “Do not be anxious about your life,” addressing our deepest fears over sustenance, health, and material security. Pastor Karl explains that worry is not a personality trait but a discipleship issue—a lack of trust that we are our own ultimate provider. He notes the physical and emotional toll of chronic anxiety, while research shows most worries never materialize and the rest prove less devastating than feared.Drawing from Jesus' illustrations of birds (who labor diligently yet trust God's care) and lilies (clothed more gloriously than Solomon), Pastor Karl clarifies: diligent work and planning are biblical, but anxiety over provision is not. Worry accomplishes nothing and robs us of life.The solution is radical: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Jesus calls disciples to dethrone worry by enthroning God's kingdom as the supreme priority—surpassing personal agendas, comfort, and even life itself. When the eternal kingdom becomes our greatest passion, God faithfully supplies what we truly need.Echoing Abraham's trust over Lot's worldly pursuit, Pastor Karl challenges listeners: Will we choose altars over assets, surrendering our plans to God's will? In his message at Cherry Hills Community Church, Pastor Gary Thomas emphasized that every marriage needs a God-given mission to truly thrive. Using Matthew 6:33, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well," he challenged couples to prioritize God's purpose over personal happiness. Pastor Gary explained that when spouses unite around serving God's kingdom, their relationship grows stronger and more meaningful. He encouraged husbands and wives to ask, "How can our marriage advance God's work in the world?" Ultimately, he reminded everyone that a mission-driven marriage reflects Christ's love and brings lasting fulfillment beyond what self-focused living can offer.

As the Church and co-laborers with Christ, we must both possess a clear understanding and practice of the power of priority. There's something to be said about busyness and whether or not it's connected to God's original design and purpose for our lives. When disconnected from these motives, our efforts lack productivity in the spirit and build inferior kingdoms. Join us as we hear from Bill Johnson who shares a timely message birthed in a recent encounter with the Lord. We feel the reverence of God on this word and the empowerment of our heavenly Father. Did you know, many Christians avoid the Sermon On the Mount?The problem is that they misread the Sermon- they think Jesus demands a perfection that is beyond us• what actually happens in the Sermon is that it empowers us◦ we learn the way of sincerity, integrity, and mercy• whatever else it might mean to be Christian,◦ above all, it means to be a “good person”◦ loving, caring, helping, serving- I feel that what we go over today can't be “just another talk”• we need to know how to get Jesus' teaching into our hearts, and minds, and our everyday lives• this verse, that I skimmed over last week,◦ teaches us where we need to go from here

Today's Promise: Matthew 6:33 Jesus turned our thinking upside down when He promised that everything would be given to us when the kingdom of God became our priority. We think if I can get everything together, then I can find fulfillment. Jesus says, make the Kingdom of God the number one thing in your life, and fulfillment and satisfaction will follow. Can it really be that simple? Could this one promise really be the secret to finding out God's will? As you learn to live and follow the kingdom of God, you find everything else is added to you.

The primary purpose of marriage—according to God through the Apostle Paul—is not to solve our loneliness. It's not to fulfill some romantic need or desire. It's not to complete me, and it's not to “find the one". None of those things are bad. Marriage can provide companionship. There is and can definitely be romance and sexual fulfillment. But while those things might be by-products of a good and healthy marriage, they all fall woefully short of fulfilling the purpose of marriage. The practice of marriage without pursuing the purpose of marriage will always feel incomplete.
