Sunday March 22nd, 2020 Rob Ray, atheist and host of the podcasts Secular Yakking and Sparky on Ice joins us to discuss his year living and working in Antarctica. Sparky on Ice was a one of a kind podcast, recorded and published from the continent of Antarctica. Among the many points of this conversation is a discussion of how scientists catch penguins for studying. I've linked a video, and now I only want to visit Antarctica even more than previously. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a beloved podcast with a lovely couple like Robert and Amy Ray. The good news is they aren’t leaving us completely, as Robert wants to devote more time to his Original Motto project. We talked about how the show started, how getting Amy on made all the difference, the stories they told, Robert’s OM project and attempts to do secular invocations, plus a little bit about the current state of the movement. Hey y'all, it's time for The Triple Po! On the pre-ramble I talk about the government shutdown. There is one senator who gives no fucks and tells Trump just what she thinks of his view of the military. On the palaver, I speak to Rob Ray. He is co-host, along with his wife, of Secular Yakking, which is sadly being retired. However, there is a silver lining, because it gives him more time to work on his real passion, The Original Motto Project. The goal the organization is to promote E Pluribus Unum, the original national motto, which 'promotes the truly inclusive nature of American society'. We talk about the project's origins, mission statement, wins, losses, and what the future holds for the project, which includes a reinvigorated effort to make a real difference in getting the word out. Rob is a passionate guy, and by the end of the conversation you might even be motivated to volunteer! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
It's that episode y'all has been waiting for : The #OneYearPodunkiversary Live Show! Myself and guest Zach Law from Zachrilege Cast host a two and a half hour extravaganza! We karaoked, took calls, played voicemails, read emails, we laughed, we cried. Well, maybe not the last one, but we did have great time talking to our friends and listeners including Jeremiah and Ari from SJW Circle Jerk, who were in studio with Michael Schaffer, host of Reasonable Risk Podcast and show patron; Amy Kuhel from The Ginger Snaps; friend and one-time guest William Ferguson; listener and badass Jon Livingston, who is most certainly NOT Ishmael Brown; Rob from Secular Yakking; Nathan Dickey from Trolling With Logic; and friend and sometime co-conspirator Jeanne Ikerd. I had a lot of fun doing this, and I am so grateful and humbled by all the support and love I have received over the past year. I also wanted to thank Dot Dot Dash for their music, which has become an integral part of the show. My patrons deserve thanks as well for thinking enough of my humble creation to actually pay for it. And, finally, to all of you have listened and interacted with me over the past year. It has truly been a pleasure and an honor to be your host. Here's to hoping for plenty of years to come! My guest for today is Aaron Rabinowitz, co-host of the new podcast Embrace the Void. Here’s what the official description of the show says: “Welcome friends, to a podcast for a darker timeline. Maybe the darkest of all timelines. Definitely not one of the good timelines. Maybe it’s always been a dark timeline, maybe the Hadron collider screwed us over. Science may never know. What we do know is that we live in the void. The void, a place where a chittering mass of void crabs can infest a person suit and win the presidency. The void, a place where we're just clever enough to know that climate change is happening, but not quite clever enough to do anything about it. The void seems terrible and cruel, but it loves you, in its own ironic way.” So today we’re going to talk about philosophy, religion, and what it means to embrace the Void.Links:•Embrace the Void: https://voidpod.com •ETV on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EmbraceTheVoidPod/ •ETV on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ETVPod •Ashton P. Today’s episode is a collection of short interviews I did with some of the speakers and attendees of last week’s ReasonCon3 conference in Hickory, NC. First up is Gene Elliott, who helped organize the event. Then I chat with Matt Dillahunty, one of the speakers. Then we hear from friend of the show, Louis Mendez, followed by Heath and Eli from God Awful Movies. And finally I chat with Callie Wright from the Gaytheist Manifesto, who pretty much stole the show, and you’ll soon find out why.Links:•ReasonCon: http://reasonnc.com/ •The Atheist Experience: http://www.atheist-experience.com/ •Louis Mendez’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/the.louis.mendez •God Awful Movies: https://audioboom.com/channel/god-awful-movies •The Gaytheist Manifesto: http://gaytheistmanifesto.secularmediagroup.com/ •The Original Motto Project: http://originalmotto.us/ •Skeptic’s Brewpub: http://skepticsbrewpub.com/ •Freedom from Religion Foundation: http://ffrf.org •Secular Yakking: http://secularyakking.com/ •The Biskeptical Podcast: http://www.spreaker.com/show/the-biskeptical-podcast•Dream Youth: http://dreamyouth.bandcamp.com •Asher Silberman: http://www.ashersilberman.com/ •My Twitter: http://twitter.com/tmamone •Bi Any Means on Twitter: http://twitter.com/bianymeanspod •Bi Any Means on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/bianymeanspodcast •The Bi Any Means/Biskeptical Podcast Fans Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/179617892470906/ •Email: bianymeanspodcast@gmail.com •Listener line: 410-690-3558 •My Patreon page: http://www.patreon.com/tmamone •Bi Any Means Blog: http://freethoughtblogs.com/bianymeans/

Thanks for stopping by and checking out this installment of TPPP! This week in the pre-ramble, I give a little review of the awesomeness that was NaNoCon 2o17. I had a great time, reconnected with people, met a lot of new people, and consumed copious amounts of beer. It was a beautiful day for it, and there was a bonfire the night before and an after party downtown that topped everything off nicely. A big thanks to the organizers for putting this together, and hopefully it will be even bigger and better next year! For the palaver I talk to Robert and Amy over at Secular Yakking. We talk about their show, the Mr. Potter award, and their natural ability to yak at each other. We also talk about Robert's side project, The Original Motto Project, which is trying to get In God We Trust removed from government property and replaced with the original motto, 'E Pluribus Unum' (Out of many, one). As if that weren't enough, these two are involved with Camp Quest, and their children were campers and are now about to be counselors. There's also yakking about Trump, Northern apathy and Southern enthusiasm for secular issues, ignorance and our shared status as SJWs. There's a lot of yakking on this week's episode, but hopefully y'all will find it entertaining! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash

Welcome to this week's episode The Podunk Polymath Podcast! In a longer than usual pre-ramble, I basically go on a tipsy rant about Trump's inauguration and how much I hate the idea of him being President, as well as talk about the Womens' March and the need for people to resist the horrendous policies that are sure to come down the pike. On the palaver, I have part 2 of the round table discussion on polyamory. We touch on how they deal with the issue of children in a polyamorous relationship; the issue of jealousy; and other subjects. I think y'all will enjoy the rest of this conversation. I can't think Shane, Leigh, Kory, Jeannie, Danny, and Heina enough for coming on and talking so candidly about polyamory with me. I learned a lot, and I hope y'all did as well. On the conclusion, I talk about the fact that I got TWO more patrons, including one at the $5 level! That one wanted to remain anonymous, but one the new patrons is Robert Ray from Secular Yakking and The Original Motto Project! Thank you so much! To close out the show, though, I talk about the need to resist, and that if anyone needs any help of any kind, I will do whatever is in my power to assist. We have to stick together, because I am afraid things are going to get worse before they get better. Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
Happy Holidays from The Podunk Polymath Podcast! For those who celebrate Christmas, I hope it was full of joy and laughs. For those who are still celebrating, continue to enjoy! And for those who struggle with this time of year for whatever reason, you have my sympathies, and I hope you get through relatively unscathed. For the palaver, I have the honor and privilege of speaking to author of 'The PC Lie : How American Voters Decided I Don't Matter'; podcast host at 'Inciting Incident'; and activist Ris McCool. We talk about her book, her podcast, and her experiences as a transgender woman. She is very charismatic and full of a righteous rage that is and will be stoked for the next four years by a Trump administration. She is someone to watch, as I think her ambition and courage will prove to be an asset during the travails that are sure to experience for the next four years. I also wanted to mention I was on the Christmas edition of Bi Any Means Podcast along with Ris, The Prophet Jeremiah, and Uber Forty Seven. I also contributed to the airing of grievances on The Biskeptical Podcast, and I contributed a Robert Ingersoll quote to an episode of Secular Yakking. So, grab a cold glass of eggnog and enjoy the latest PoPoPo! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
Welcome to another episode of The Podunk Polymath Podcast! In the pre-ramble I talk about the shooting death of Joe McKnight and how the murderer was treated with kid gloves by the authorities. Also, I speak about the wildfires in East Tennessee and the destruction in Gatlinburg, as well as the deaths and property loss of so many people. I talk about how you can help, and what organizations are contributing to the effort. On the palaver I speak to blogger, activist, and author of 'Young, Sick, and Invisible' Ania Bula. We talk about her book, her struggles, her triumphs, ableism, and what abled people can do to help disabled people gain the recognition and dignity they deserve. I was extremely honored to speak with Ania, and I highly recommend her book. I also wanted to mention that I had the second best week for downloads, behind only the inaugural week, thanks largely to the episode with Tucker Drake, host of The Atheist in the Trailer Park Podcast. His episode has proven to be very popular! Also, my promo appeared on his show as well as Secular Yakking (whose promo is on this episode). Thanks to everyone who listens, and I hope you enjoy the show! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
