I'm Back! Welcome to Financial Revelations! A huge thank-you to everyone who came out to the signing for The Sin of Retirement! If you couldn't make it, don't worry—you can still order your copy. The book is now available in hardcover, ebook, and Audible. Visit www.sinofretirement.com for details. Market Update Wednesday marked a big shift in Federal Reserve policy—the start of rate cuts. Chair Powell announced a 25 basis point reduction, and I expect cuts to continue until his term ends in May. My take? The Fed was late. They should have begun cutting back in April. Unfortunately, politics have crept into monetary policy, and Powell doesn't want to leave office remembered as the next Arthur Burns. Looking ahead, I believe we'll see 30-year mortgage rates drop to 5% or below by April/May 2026. That will spark refinancing activity and push markets upward. Listener Questions This week, a listener asked: When should I contribute to a Roth versus a tax-deferred account? What's the best strategy for retiring early? Great questions! Keep them coming. Big news—The Sin of Retirement is now live! You can now purchase the softcover or ebook through our website: www.sinofretirement.com. This book has been a long time in the making, and it's rooted in a simple truth: there is a greater purpose than leisure in retirement. Retirement shouldn't be about slowing down to do nothing. In Genesis 2, we're reminded that work is a gift from God—and that truth doesn't end when your career does. Whether it's mentoring, serving, or using your time for eternal purpose, The Sin of Retirement is a call to action. On Mission Our next mission trip to Brazil is set for March 2026. If you're interested in joining, please let us know. You don't have to travel with us, but we encourage you to find a way to live with greater purpose—right where you are. Fed Meeting Recap Last week's Fed meeting held no surprises—Chairman Powell kept rates unchanged. That said, I still believe we'll see three rate cuts before the end of the year. To Powell's credit, the data he had was questionable. The Bureau of Labor Statistics revised previous jobless claims and economic data, which changed the outlook considerably. The updated numbers show a weakening economy, declining inflation, and falling energy costs. And as I always say—everything starts with energy prices. The Fed, as usual, is late to the game.
Send us a textWhat are you missing out on while watching someone else's life? This question sparked an illuminating conversation about the distractions that pull us away from our true purpose and the power of intentionally choosing what deserves our attention. The journey begins with Kory sharing a transformative moment during a recent band performance when equipment failure forced the musicians to rely solely on their raw talent. What could have been a disaster became a catalyst for growth, creating one of their most authentic and energizing performances. This experience perfectly illustrates how unexpected challenges can reconnect us with our core purpose when we remain open to the moment rather than fixated on distractions. We dive deep into the concept of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and how it manifests in our lives. What happens when we're so busy watching what everyone else is doing that we miss our own calling? Through personal stories and reflections, we explore the freedom that comes from embracing JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out) instead. As you listen, we'd like to invite you to consider: What distractions might you intentionally miss out on this week? What could you say "yes" to instead? We would like to let you know that your purpose is worthy of protection, and your time is too valuable to trade for what merely distracts.Support the showhttps://linktr.ee/genthebuilder

Send us a textWhat if we spent as much time celebrating life as we do trying to fix it? In this refreshing conversation, GentheBuilder and Kory explore the delicate balance between problem-solving and appreciation for what already exists.Drawing from their recent experience creating a backyard sanctuary after years without one, they share how this ordinary accomplishment became extraordinary simply through a shift in perspective. Rather than focusing on the imperfections, they chose to celebrate having outdoor space to enjoy together after more than a decade.Perhaps most powerful is the discussion around "celebrating the ordinary"—recognizing that what seems commonplace to us might be extraordinary to someone else. Kirstin is more than just a partner at home—she's the original brains behind Brilliant Borders Landscaping. From a bold decision to buy a weekend curbing business off a neighbor to growing it into a full-scale landscaping operation, Kirstin shares her unique entrepreneurial journey. You'll hear how she went from hands-on curb installation to managing crews, balancing family life, and stepping in and out of the business as it evolved. Kirstin opens up about working alongside her husband, the power struggles and personal growth that came with it, and how clearly defined roles—and a whole lot of grit—helped the company thrive. This episode offers real insight into running a family business, navigating leadership as a couple, and what it truly takes to build something from the ground up.
