Logic, logic, logic...is the beginning of wisdom, not the end. But where does logic belong in a tasting note? If it belongs at all? Can something so abstract be articulated accurately? Can we construct a universally understood framework in the face of an uncaring, entropic, and non-objective reality? What is the very fabric of this thing of which we speak so freely and just who is it for?   Yes...it's one of 'those' episodes dear listener. We delve into the concept of tasting notes and attempt to explore how they're constructed and what we hope to achieve in the process. Alongside this Lee finally defines his name and we learn exactly* where you can procure the fruits of Ferg's labours. We learn more about how Ferg proposed to his beloved fiancée (and soon to be wife: EXCITED!) and Ferg answers one of Lee's longest held questions: What IS a boysenberry?   We explore also the perils of talking to the public, the power of hydrogen, reducing sugars, and ethanol as well as asking what YOU in the trade want from wine comms...and conversely what YOU the consumer would find helpful?   All this and more in TM&TM: Heisenberg's Uncertain Tasting Note - quantumly entangled in a Hadron collision from Thursday morning.   *well, maybe not 'exactly'

SpaceTime Series 28 Episode 42The Astronomy, Space and Science News PodcastUnraveling Antimatter Mysteries, New Techniques to Detect Dark Matter, and Insights into the Spectrum Rocket FailureIn this episode of SpaceTime, we dive into groundbreaking discoveries at the Large Hadron Collider, where physicists have identified a significant difference in the decay behaviors of ordinary matter and antimatter. This finding could provide vital clues to understanding why our universe is dominated by matter despite the Big Bang's creation of equal amounts of both. We explore the implications of these results and how they align with the Standard Model of particle physics.Innovative Approaches to Dark Matter DetectionNext, we discuss an innovative new technique developed by researchers at the University of Queensland to detect dark matter using atomic clocks and cavity-stabilized lasers. This cutting-edge approach aims to uncover the elusive nature of dark matter, which constitutes about 80% of the universe yet remains largely a mystery. We examine how this method could lead to new insights into the distribution and properties of dark matter.Spectrum Rocket Launch Failure InvestigationAdditionally, we analyze the recent failure of the Spectrum rocket during its inaugural launch from Norway. Investigators are looking into the causes of the incident, which involved thrust vectoring oscillations leading to the rocket's loss of control. We discuss potential technical issues and what this means for future European orbital launches.00:00 Space Time Series 28 Episode 42 for broadcast on 7 April 202500:49 Discovery of decay differences between matter and antimatter06:30 Implications for understanding the universe's matter dominance12:15 New techniques for detecting dark matter18:00 Using atomic clocks for dark matter research22:45 Analysis of the Spectrum rocket failure27:00 Summary of recent scientific developments30:15 Science report: Southern Ocean warming impactswww.spacetimewithstuartgary.comwww.bitesz.com

One PetaByte is the equivalent of 11000 4k movies. And CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) generates this every single second. Only a fraction of this data (~1 GB/s) is stored and analyzed using a multicluster batch job dispatcher with Kueue running on Kubernetes. In this episode we have Ricardo Rocha, Platform Engineering Lead at CERN and CNCF Advocate, explaining why after 20 years at CERN he is still excited about the work he and his colleagues at CERN are doing. To kick things off we learn about the impact that the CNCF has on the scientific community, how to best balance an implementation of that scale between "easy of use" vs "optimized for throughput".

Capes On the Couch - Where Comics Get Counseling

Cosmic Marvel May continues with a look at the Devourer of Worlds, GALACTUS! Hope you're hungry, because we serve up a planet-sized platter of issues for you! Intro Thanks to PuchiCon for fantastic panel Background (2:52) Galactus created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966) Galan of Taa was an explorer of the universe that existed before the Big Bang - when the universe collapsed during the Big Crunch, he merged with the Sentience of the Universe, and was reborn in this universe with an insatiable hunger - he consumes an entire planet, Archeopia Creates a herald, the Fallen One, who rebels against him - his next herald was Norrin Radd of Zenn-La, who becomes the Silver Surfer When the Surfer approaches Earth to warn the planet of the coming of Galactus, the Fantastic Four lead the defense, and are able to repel him with the Ultimate Nullifier - Mr. Fantastic later sends him the Negative Zone to eat uninhabited planets Secret Wars - he attempts to consume Battleworld to get the Beyonder to remove his hunger, but he is foiled by Dr. Doom Gets turned into a star by his own consuming machines - this releases Abraxas, who creates so much destruction and chaos Franklin & Valeria Richards are forced to revive him to help them defeat Abraxas Attempts to feed on the Infinity Gems, but that releases another destructive being Heads to Asgard to find an item to satiate his hunger - Odin agrees to let him have it once Asgard is no more Forced into his incubator by the Ultimates, and emerges as a Lifebringer instead of a devourer - this throws off the cosmic balance, and several celestial beings attempt to return him to his former state To help defeat Hank Pym/Ultron, Galactus consumes a world overrun by Ultron drones - this revives his hunger, and the Surfer returns as his herald to help him find uninhabited planets Drained by Thor and turned into a bomb to destroy the Black Winter, a being that consumes entire universes Issues (6:26) Galactus. The Devourer of Worlds. The Harbinger of Civilization's End. And...an eco-friendly sustainable farmer? It would normally be hard to fathom the inner workings of the mind of someone who is quite literally the actual sentience of the universe that existed before ours. Fortunately, Galactus helps us out quite a bit by being more than a little chatty about himself and his motivations with the lesser beings he encounters in his travels. A few of his issues have stayed very consistent over the decades: 1) A very complicated and often unhealthy relationship with his food, and his eating in general. Galactus does not enjoy the act of devouring worlds. It has never been an act that brings him pleasure. He simply has to do it in order to survive. Prior to becoming the Lifebringer, he displayed several tendencies that might be thought of as eating disorders in someone who was not a cosmic entity. In Secret Wars, he declares to the Beyonder that his fondest wish is to not have his constant hunger anymore, to be free of the need to eat. On several occasions, it's been made clear that he often starves himself as long as it's possible for him to stand it in between his meals. When confronted by beings and civilizations who don't want to be destroyed and who beg him to find another planet to consume, his constant refrain is that there's simply no more time to do that; he has to eat this planet right now or he's going to die. 2) Guilt and the constant struggle to suppress it. One of Galactus' standby replies to anyone who questions the ethics of his consuming inhabited worlds filled with intelligent beings is that if their very survival depended upon stepping on an ant hill, they wouldn't hesitate. Galactus sets himself above and beyond the reproach or judgment of anyone who is not a cosmic entity. In both his role as the Devourer of Worlds and as the Lifebringer, he fulfills a cosmic purpose as the universe's sustainable farmer, weeding out the life that has passed its apex and the civilizations not strong enough to mount a resistance to him, knowing that he will one day put all of the cosmic life energy he consumes back out into the universe, seeding dead worlds with the beginnings of life to start all over again. And yet, despite that, he was once a mortal, and he does have a conscience. He goes through periods where he tries to limit himself to uninhabited worlds, or worlds without intelligent life, but it's the equivalent of a liquid diet for him; it just doesn't provide the same nourishment. In the famous Fantastic Four #257, he has to have a sit-down with Mistress Death when he basically decides to starve himself completely over the sadness of all the life he's taken, and begs Death to kill him. Most of the time, he just does his best to not think about it, the way most of us try not to think too much about how the food on our table doesn't just magically appear at the grocery store. (17:23) 3) Trouble finding, hiring and keeping good help. Galactus is so much better off when he has a herald in his service finding worlds for him to eat. But he's had a really bad run of luck with them. He had such a bad experience with the Fallen One that he didn't create another one for eons before the Silver Surfer, who managed to break through the blocks Galactus put on his morality enough to rebel. He really liked Airwalker, but Airwalker liked him back enough to sacrifice himself to save him. Firelord he never even really got to know before dismissing him. Finally he decided what he really needed was a sadistic killer who enjoyed destroying inhabited worlds. Predictably, Terrax tried to kill Galactus and take his place. Frankie Raye just wouldn't budge on the whole "no inhabited worlds" rule. Morg was way too good at the job, lined up worlds for Galactus to eat faster than he could eat them. Then he tried two heralds at once for a while, that didn't work out. The man just really doesn't seem to know what it is he really wants from an employee, which seems to be why he keeps finding incompatible candidates for the job. (24:55) Break (35:06) Plugs for SNEScapades, Last Sons of Krypton, and Jordan Blum Treatment (36:09) In-universe -  Out of universe - Focus on addressing eating disorder and general health (38:04) Skit (44:42) Hello Galactus, I'm Dr. Issues. - GREETINGS DOCTOR. When Adam Warlock said I'd be doing work for cosmic beings I wasn't quite expecting this. - YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY BEINGS OF POWER BEYOND COMPREHENSION. THIS CARRIES WITH IT INCREDIBLE RESPONSIBILITY. Seems like I've heard that before… - THE HERO CALLED SPIDER-MAN HAS MADE IT SOMEWHAT OF A MANTRA. So how can I help you? - I KNOW YOUR SPECIALITY IS MENTAL HEALTH, BUT YOU ARE EXPERIENCED IN PHYSIOLOGY, ARE YOU NOT? I am a psychiatrist, so I have knowledge of human biology. Having said that, I'm not really sure how that would apply to a celestial being of phenomenal power. I don't think there's even a remote chance of analogous internal systems. - I AM LESS CONCERNED WITH THE BIOLOGY AND MORE FOCUSED ON THE MENTAL CONNECTIONS TO THE PHYSICAL FORM. Alright, I can't believe I'm asking this, but what can I do to help you? - I NEED TO GO ON A DIET. Umm… excuse me? - I MUST FIND A WAY TO SATIATE MY ETERNAL HUNGER FOR THE SAKE OF SENTIENT BEINGS. Oh boy… so, I appreciate you seeking my input, but I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HELP YOU HERE. - YOU CAN PROVIDE ME WITH SUGGESTIONS TO CREATE MENTAL BLOCKS TO ABATE THE COMPULSIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE HUNGER. That's… I… that is not even close to what I am trained in. Much as I would love to help you, I don't even have the first inkling where to start. - MIGHT YOU HAVE AN ASSOCIATE WHO IS TRAINED IN SUCH MATTERS? Sorry, I don't know there's much of a call for “cosmic dieticians”. - PERHAPS YOU KNOW OF SOME FREE-RANGE OPTIONS? How would that even work? - A PLANET OF SENTIENT BEINGS WHO DESIRE TO ASCEND TO A HIGHER PLANE, ALL OF WHOM HAVE THE FREEDOM TO STAY OR LEAVE. I HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT ALL OF THE LOGISTICS YET, I WAS HOPING FOR YOUR INPUT. I'm sorry, I…wait, have you seen the commercials for that medication that wasn't originally designed for weight gain, but people started taking anyway? -THE IMPACT OF A MINISCULE SPHEROID WOULD NOT SATIATE SUCH A STATE No, but the premise is similar to what I'm thinking. You need a new setpoint. Change the order of what you eat and when, then maybe some sort of suppressor, and…hmmm…how does one do bariatric surgery on a cosmic scale? - MY PHYSICAL FORM HAS NO KNOWN CONSTANTS. I AM WHATEVER FORM IS COMPREHENSIBLE TO THE SPECIES VIEWING ME. Then we're going to need an endoscopy tube the size of a space station. Route the last veins of our coal mines to neutralize your digestion from the start. If we combine that with the theoretical particles generated from a Hadron collider, we could force a controllable black hole inside you that would just as easily pass out what you eat. - AND WHAT WOULD EXIT THIS TUBE? WHAT MANNER OF ENERGY OR MATTER IS CREATED FROM THIS EXPERIMENT? I'm not a physicist, but I think it could reset whatever goes through back to the original point of its existence…like, before the big bang or whatever, I'unno -YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE A CHANCE ON EXISTENCE AS WE KNOW IT JUST TO RECREATE IT FROM MY HUNGER? Well, when you put it like that…*snaps fingers* or, orrrr…after you eat, and there's this new hole…can you eat that? -EAT…MYSELF? THE HOLE?  I mean…what if you came out on the other end? What would you be like? - YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO NAVIGATE CONCEPTS FAR BEYOND THE PRECEPTS OF YOUR MORTAL BRAIN. TAKE CARE, DOCTOR, THAT YOU DO NOT FORCE YOURSELF INTO A STATE FROM WHICH YOU CANNOT RECOVER. OR DO SO. EITHER WAY, GALACTUS WILL PERSIST. Would you, though? How do we know you wouldn't become an infinite digestive loop feeding on itself for eternity, without the need for more outside worlds? You gain a steady state, nobody else gets devoured…fair trade. - YOUR MORALITY OPERATES ON A SCALE INFINITESIMAL TO ONE SUCH AS GALACTUS. THESE CONCERNS ARE AS IMPORTANT TO ME AS THOSE OF AN ANT ARE TO YOU. THERE ARE FAR GREATER UNIVERSAL THREATS AT RISK IF THE COSMIC BALANCE IS DESTABILIZED. BEFORE SUCH AN EXPERIMENT PROCEEDS, I MUST PONDER THE EFFECTS ON THE UNIVERSAL SCALE. I WILL CONSULT WITH THE LIVING TRIBUNAL, ETERNITY, AND THE COSMIC COUNCIL. And eat rocky planets for fiber…but not Uranus, because it's too gassy. -THIS IS TRUE. ALTHOUGH THIS ENCOUNTER IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED, YOU HAVE ENHANCED THE POSSIBLE FUTURES OF ALL THAT WILL EVER BE. THIS WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.  Ending (50:43) Recommended reading: Galactus Trilogy Next episodes: Nova (Richard Rider), Miguel O'Hara Plugs for social & GonnaGeek Network References: Steve Harvey “One Man” - Doc (30:04) Transcript Apple Podcasts: here Google Play: here Stitcher: here TuneIn: here iHeartRadio: here Twitter Facebook TikTok  Patreon TeePublic Discord

Gamma-hadron Separation in Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes using Quantum Classifiers by Jashwanth S et al. on Monday 10 October In this paper we have introduced a novel method for gamma hadron separation in Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACT) using Quantum Machine Learning. IACTs captures images of Extensive Air Showers (EAS) produced from very high energy gamma rays. We have used the QML Algorithms, Quantum Support Vector Classifier (QSVC) and Variational Quantum Classifier (VQC) for binary classification of the events into signals (Gamma) and background(hadron) using the image parameters. MAGIC Gamma Telescope dataset is used for this study which was generated from Monte Carlo Software Coriska. These quantum algorithms achieve performance comparable to standard multivariate classification techniques and can be used to solve variety of real-world problems. The classification accuracy is improved by hyper parameter tuning. We propose a new architecture for using QSVC efficiently on large datasets and found that clustering enhance the overall performance. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2210.03771v1

He argues that, instead of thinking of ourselves as separate from life, if we can recognise that that we are a part of life, then that has some profound implications for the way that we live, set goals and find a sense of purpose. Bernardo's the author of a plethora of scientific papers and books – and he argues that the fundamental nature of reality is consciousness, not matter. Impact of Rotation on the Multimessenger Signatures of a Hadron-quark Phase Transition in Core-collapse Supernovae

Impact of Rotation on the Multimessenger Signatures of a Hadron-quark Phase Transition in Core-collapse Supernovae by Shuai Zha et al. on Monday 26 September We study the impact of rotation on the multimessenger signals of core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe) with the occurrence of a first-order hadron-quark phase transition (HQPT). We simulate CCSNe with the texttt{FLASH} code starting from a 20~$M_odot$ progenitor with different rotation rates, and using the RDF equation of state from textit{Bastian} 2021 that prescribes the HQPT. Rotation is found to delay the onset of the HQPT and the resulting dynamical collapse of the protocompact star (PCS) due to the centrifugal support. All models with the HQPT experience a second bounce shock which leads to a successful explosion. The oblate PCS as deformed by rotation gives rise to strong gravitational-wave (GW) emission around the second bounce with a peak amplitude larger by a factor of $sim10$ than that around the first bounce. The breakout of the second bounce shock at the neutrinosphere produces a $bar{nu}_e$-rich neutrino burst with a luminosity of serveral 10$^{53}$~erg~s$^{-1}$. In rapidly rotating models the PCS pulsation following the second bounce generates oscillations in the neutrino signal after the burst. In the fastest rotating model with the HQPT, a clear correlation is found between the oscillations in the GW and neutrino signals immediately after the second bounce. In addition, the HQPT-induced collapse leads to a jump in the ratio of rotational kinetic energy to gravitational energy ($beta$) of the PCS, for which persistent GW emission may arise due to secular nonaxisymmetric instabilities. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2209.12418v1

This week: Brian Greene on why we're religious, physicists discover what's inside the Great Pyramid of Giza, switching on the Large Hadron Collider, Elon Musk buys Twitter, and what is the future of atheism?BRIAN GREENE LIVESTREAMWhy did our ancient relatives create art and ritual if it didn't help them find food?If you know anything about evolution, you'll know that ancient humans didn't like to waste much time or energy on things that weren't necessary for survival - things like hunting or building shelters. So why did they create beautiful trinkets or elaborate rituals? This is a question Darwin himself considered, and it's the topic of a whole chapter in Brian Greene's latest book Until the End of Time. Brian explains that the common belief that religion gave our ancestors might have helped them work and fight together. He also talks about the terror management theory of religion. It's the theory that religion offering people an afterlife helped our ancestors not be frozen in fear, thinking about their death 24/7.Brian talks about religion and other fascinating topics, including his theories on consciousness and his predictions for the next big steps in cosmology, in his recent talk with Progressive Forum - it's definitely worth a look! And, there's nothing like seeing events in-person, so come and see, or even MEET, Brian when we tour him across Australia and New Zealand this June! Tickets are at the link in our bio.PYRAMID PARTICLESEver wondered what's inside the Great Pyramid of Giza? Well soon we'll know, all thanks to subatomic particles called muons.Muons are the awkward cousins of electrons. Their mass is about 207 times as large as an electron's, making them able to pass through hundreds of metres of rock.Picture an electron like a bullet, and a muon like a cannonball. The cannonball can smash through walls while bullets get stuck. Other technologies, such as ultrasound, ground-penetrating radar and X-rays, can only penetrate a short distance from the surface, but muons can go further. It was thanks to muons that in 2017 scientists discovered a surprising hidden chamber inside the Great Pyramid. Now, as part of international project ScanPyramids, the detectors are back to scan the Great Pyramid from another angle. The team also plan on scanning other ruins such as the Mayan Chichen Itza in Mexico, and they've already started mapping out the inner workings of Mount Vesuvius using muography. We can't wait to see what they find!HADRON COLLIDERAfter a 3 year nap, the Large Hadron Collider was switched on last week to help explain why the universe exists.During its well-earned break, the LHC got pampered with some maintenance and upgrades, to prepare it for its third and most powerful experimental period. If all goes to plan, scientists at CERN will begin experiments in June.Run 3 is all about the elusive neutrino. Neutrinos are among the most abundant particles in the universe. They're the size of an electron, but have no charge, hence the name “neutrino”.The question is, what are the properties of neutrinos? We still know pretty much nothing about them. If CERN manages to solve the neutrino conundrum, then it will be a landmark moment and could help refine the Standard Model. The Standard Model helps explain the forces in the universe and how different fundamental particles fit together to generate the cosmos we call home. Neutrinos are also critical to understanding nuclear physics, from the fusion reactions that power stars, to the fission reactions that occur in nuclear energy reactors.Let's hope they solve the conundrum!MUSK BUYS TWITTERWill Elon Musk be a free speech champion or new tech overlord? That's what everyone's wondering now that he's the owner of Twitter.Musk has been critical of Twitter's moderation of speech, and within a day of his takeover, some high-profile banned users have been allowed back on the site. As for Donald Trump, Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, and even Azealia Banks and Tila Tequila (yes- they're banned as well!), it's not clear whether they'll get their accounts back.Elon has said that he hopes that even his worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech is about. But despite his wishes, many people are already announcing they're leaving Twitter. With Elon at the helm, Twitter users could also expect an edit button, and an open source algorithm, meaning they'd be able to view the code that curates what they see. Musk has also said that users should be able to see if their post has been promoted or demoted. So, do you think Elon will have a positive or negative influence ? Let us know in the comments!NEW LANDSCAPE ATHEISMWho was the first atheist? If you listen to the British philosopher Julian Baggini in his recent talk “Atheism Revisited”, the first open and proud atheist was actually a Catholic priest. His name was Jean Meslier, and while working as a priest in 18th century France, he came to see that the church was not helping the poor as they said they were, but were actually lining their pockets. After that, there was David Hume, a Scottish Enlightenment philosopher who is the hero of many atheists today. But long after that came the New Atheist movement, fronted by some of the thinkers we've toured here at Think Inc.: Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins. These thinkers popularised atheism, but did they go too far? According to Baggini, author of ”Atheism: A Very Short Introduction”, perhaps they were a bit too militant, and isolated people from the cause instead of creating a “coalition of the reasonable”, which could also include reasonable religious believers.Have a listen to his talk, and make up your mind for yourself. And if you want to learn more about different schools of philosophical ethics, come along to our course starting next week. Tickets are at the link in our bio.---That's all for this week. Don't forget we've got two Think Inc. Academy courses starting next week, and tickets to our upcoming Brian Greene tour can be found at the link in our bio.Sign up to our newsletter → bit.ly/think-sign-up

In the news we covered how “woke” culture is driving some men to be fans of the Taliban, and a study that found women dig men who mumble. In cool stuff an edit job makes the Premier of New South Wales, Gladys Berejiklian, seem even more tyrannical & evil than she is when it comes to COVID. Our tool of the week is a super handy, easy to use jack. Finally this week in His Story we learned about William the Conqueror's death, the Hadron collider, and 9/11. After a short break, we're back at it with another conspiracy-laden podcast. The topic for this week's instalment: Science. Scientific advancements have improved people's lives in an immeasurable number of ways, from something as simple as your morning coffee, right through to the world wide web, without which you wouldn't be able to enjoy the Co-Conspirators Podcast! Many sceptics would argue that scientific theory is essential for disproving conspiracy theories, but what happens when these two worlds collide? In this episode, Calum takes a look at the science (or pseudoscience) behind conspiracy theories, with a psychological analysis of the characteristics that might drive an individual to seek comfort in the world of aliens, government secrets and beyond. Luke re-ignites his ongoing feud with the country of Switzerland, this time examining the link between the social phenomenon known as the Mandela effect, and the scientific research that has arisen from CERN's large Hadron Collider in Geneva. Finally, John addresses one of the biggest problems facing the world today, the energy crisis. With fossil fuels both running out and destroying the environment, and renewable sources unable to meet the demand, does the work of physicist Nikola Telsa hold the answers? Join Calum, Luke and John as we break down some of the most interesting conspiracy theories that the world has to offer, covering everything from the most historic plots to the most cutting-edge psy-ops. We aim to offer an informal yet informative insight into some of the explanations and suggestions that the internet has to offer, discussing the factual and the far fetched, in a light-hearted conversation between three close mates. With theories ranging from the plausible to the preposterous, can we be certain that anything is 100% true? This week's episode is a conversation with podcast host/artist/musician Rich Wentworth. He is co-creator of the Hadron Gospel Hour podcast, a serialized sci-fi/comedy show about the adventures of a scientist who accidentally blows up the multiverse working on a way to weaponize the Hadron Collider. He and his partner Mike, played by co-creator Michael McQuilkin, jump in and out of the rift to visit different timelines and occasionally do battle with evil. The podcast also features sketch comedy, horror, and original music – Wentworth and McQuilkin are both musicians and songwriters. It's a hell of a good time, and an incredibly immersive audio environment. Wentworth is also an accomplished graphic artist. He's done album covers for Brian Setzer and comic book covers for IDW's ROM title and, it should be mentioned, designed the Department of Tangents logo. In the conversation, we talk about Wentworth's artistic influences and his aspirations in comics, which may include a Hadron adaptation somewhere down the line. We also get into how the Young Ones series influenced Hadron, the humanism of the Muppets, and so much more. Find out more about the podcast at the Hadron Gospel Hour site, and about Wentworth's art at his Spy Island Industries site. This episode also marks the two-year anniversary of the Department of Tangents Podcast. It kicked off on March 18, 2016 with EP1 featuring comedian and author Brian Kiley, whom I interviewed on the Universal lot in Los Angles where he works on Conan, and a featured track from musician Brendan Boogie, who would pop up again in EP6 as a guest talking about music and his latest movie, Sundown. It has been a joy to do this, and there is a lot more on the way – new stuff in featured tracks, including more audiobook excerpts, more short horror fiction, and of course, more interviews. Our featured track this week is “Kindness of Strangers” from Courtney Marie Andrews' new album May Your Kindness Remain, out today, March 23. Andrews has a rich, powerful voice, and this is an album to get excited about. Recommended if you like Neko Case, Kelly Hogan, Jason Isbell, or Kathleen Edwards. Take a listen and check out Andrews at www.courtneymarieandrews.com.
