Listeners of The Postmodern Polymaths Podcast that love the show mention:I finally managed to upload this episode. It only took me like a month and a half! I have on my friend, warrior philosopher and owner of thunder lumber we shall call Random Chicagoan. If you want to find out his full title, you'll just have to watch and/or listen. Also Jon formerly of The Angry Black Rant Z podcast will be taking on co-hosting duties once again. I REALLY want that invite to the cookout. Afro-pessimism is the topic, and if you want to know what that is, I encourage you to listen on my boy expound and explain. This is some good shit y'all.
Welcome to another fun-filled episode of The Postmodern Polymaths Podcast! For this episode, Zach and I speak to Matt musician and proprietor of a YouTube channel called Intellectual Dark Wave. We talk about his music, his channel, his influences, and, of course, politics. I saw his commercial before The Majority Report, and was was impressed with the music and lyrics. Needless to say, he's a lefty type. Go check out his channel! https://youtube.com/c/IntellectualDarkWave
Once again it takes me a month go put a podcast version of the YouTube live show out, but I did it! I have on Nico from Hawaii, who occasionally works with Tony from God Chat With God and Tony. He says he heard of me through there and sent me an email (a rare occurrence at any time) and asked to come on and talk about his experience as a Jehovah's Witness. I knew a lot of this stuff already, but even I was surprised at all the bizarre shit they do. I won't ruin it for y'all but, spoiler alert, the j dubs are fucking an abusive cult. Go figure! Give it a listen!
For this episode I have not one, but TWO black dudes on my show! Tommy from Dixieland of the Proletariat Podcast is joined by Jon, formerly of Angry Black Rant Z Podcast as my guests. We touched on many subjects, and rambled on quite a bit. We were all a little stoned, honestly. Some of the things we covered were Tommy's shitty taste in movies; Land back; Caucasians being called pinks by Jon and why; the goings on in Alabama and South Carolina, which are Tommy's and Jon's states of residences respectively; Covid; Allen West; and a whole lot more. After this episode, I officially can not be called racist. Right?
Shit I forgot to release this. Tommy, Zach, and I talk mostly politics, but also how Dune is super awesome and Alabama is a paradise.
Dan Arel graces the show with his third appearance. Zach and I talked to him about why he switched from being an Anarchist to a Communist, as well as a brief description of what those terms mean. We also talked about his work at a labor union. Other subjects, such as why people seem to hate him so much on Twitter and the California recall were discussed, as well as why we got the mads at each other like four years ago, or maybe three. Anyway, it was great to have him on again, even if he is an extremist.
This week Zach and I have on Candace Gorham. We talk about her new book 'On Death, Dying, and Disbelief'. We also talk about her journey to atheism, her work as a licensed mental health professional, her other book, and her love of hiking! Candace is a licensed professional mental health counselor. She is a former ordained minister turned atheist-humanist activist, researcher, and writer on issues related to race, religion, and mental health. She is a member of the Black Humanist Alliance advisory board, The Secular Therapist Project, and The Clergy Project. Candace is also the author of "The Ebony Exodus Project: Why Some Black Women Are Walking Out on Religion—and Others Should Too."
Zach is joining me again for another episode of the bestest show by two mediocre White guys. We talk about the Phil Torres article regarding the merging of New Atheists and the far-right. We also talked about how mostly White dudes got their fragile feelings hurt by even suggesting such a thing. Some of them are podcasters y'all might know. Just saying. Oh, and my junk going numb is a topic. And the recent developments regarding how my lovely state is banning vaccine outreach to kids. We're in a race to bottom. Mississippi here we come!
God saw fit to raise Tony from the podcast previously known as Conversationa With God Podcast into a new form, rather like Gandalf the White, into the land of the barely living with a new show, God Chat With God and Tony. Obviously guest host Zach from the Zachrilege podcast and I would like to know! And other stuff. Listen or don't. I'm not your parent.
It only took me a month to release the podcast version, but here we are. Kevin from Not Your Grandmother's Book Club joins me to talk about his show, me being on it, how awesome I was, and other assorted fascinating and intriguing topics. Sorry for the delay. Enjoy!
Another episode of The Triple Po is upon us, so rejoice oh listeners and watchers! This week Lyman was late again, but not as late as usual, and also we had friend of the show and the beer god himself, Zach from Zachrilege Cast. I tried to put a little structure into the show, and I will try to to do so going forward, because at least it's a little more bearable when you hear the privileged ramblings of some White dudes. First we talk about the Boulder shootings, and that insufferable gun nut Lauren Boebert's ‘thoughts and prayers' bullshit in response, as well as the ensuing mockery and disbelief among sane folks who are probably not surprised, yet still constantly disgusted by her inane ramblings. Next we speak about the Amazon employees' upcoming unionization vote, and the kind of lengths Amazon will go in order that it not happen. We also talk about Amazon's horrid working conditions and relatively low pay for the area, which of course is the reason they are trying to unionize in the first place! Last, but certainly not least, is the passage in my glorious state of Tennessee of the anti-trans athlete bill, which would require athletes to compete with the gender that is on their birth certificate. Of course this is only a spate of bills that the state legislatures controlled by the GOP are trying to pass. They say it's for the children, but we know it's just yet another hate bill against the LGBT community. Tough topics to be sure, but we still try to engage the stories with what humor we can. Thanks y'all for tuning in.
Welcome fans to another episode of The Triple Po! I just today realized that I hadn't released the podcast version of the show, and for that I give most humble apologies. Things slip my pickled mind on occasion. We had the pleasure of talking to Keith Spielman, aka Buddy the Lumberjack from Cellar Door Skeptics. We talk about renewing our acquaintance of around two years. We also talked about his work with Cellar Door Skeptics as the resident Canadian and general ne'er-do-well. Of course, we also had to talk about Canadian stuff, including how conservative his province of Alberta is, the accent, and whatever the fuck a toque is. It's a longer than usual show, clocking in at two hours, but we covered a lot of ground on various and sundry topics. Enjoy!
It's a foursome this episode, with Lyman and myself joined by the ever awesome Zach from Zachrilege Cast and friend Daniel Criss, sometime podcaster and owner of the sexiest voice in podcasting. We talk about David Silverman getting his ass handed to him by The Friendly Atheist, aka Hemant Mehta; the doing at CPAC, including a golden Trump idol; Daniel and his brother talk about the podcast they are planning about survival skills and depression; and much more. The audio is a little iffy at points, but I think y'all will still enjoy it.
Lyman returns and we talk about the Trump Impeachment Trial; the OMB confirmation getting a bit testy; U. S. risk of cyber attacks on infrastructure; Tennessee Governor douchebag Lee saying that trans women in sports is a major problem; Jason Isbell giving his royalties from the song he wrote, which was performed by some racist country fuck, to Nashville NAACP; where the fuck IS the Mason Dixon line?; and much more!
I have Tommy Hatcher from Dixieland of the Proletariat as my guest. He practically begged to come back on the show, so, being the nice guy I am, agreed. We talked about leftist politics in the South, as well as politics in general.
Lyman is back from hiatus! We mostly talk about current politics, namely the Capitol riots and the newly elected Biden administration and the their plans, as well as executive order that have already been enacted. And we had people come and actually give comments that I read on the air! Will wonders never cease!
Daniel Criss from The Skeptical Satanist Podcast joins me to talk about his denconversion; his experiences with Satanism; abortion. and sucking his own dick. No I swear!
This week I spoke to Marie D'Elephant, host of Everyone's Autonomous Podcast. We talk about her show, her journey out of religion, her photography, her views on ethical non-monogamy, and more!
Jon Livingston from Angry Black Rant as we talk about politics, voting, guns, me being old, because I turned 46 today. Yay me. If you want to get me something, become a patron, send money, or leave a rating on iTunes.
It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, I thought I would do a new episode at my fancier digs. It feels homier than the other place. The other place was a just a bit too run-down for me. I have tastes for the finer things. Anyway, Lyman wasn't able to join me this time, so I was left unsupervised. The main subject though is that of Biden picking Kamala Harris as his Vice Presidential running mate. I am not happy about it! But if you want to hear my full ramble about it, listen to the show! It's me grumbling for an hour about it. I am going to share a link to an article though that helped me center my thinking regarding her record. Enjoy!
Writer, activist, and Antifa Board Member Dan Arel comes back on the show to talk about the second edition of his book 'Parenting Without God'. We also talk about BLM; what White people need to do to help the movement, and defunding the police. Two White guys talking. Now THAT'S quality entertainment!
This incarnation of The Triple Po has us talking to the gentleman from Dixieland of the Proletariat Podcast. They are intrepid leftist dudes from Montgomery, Alabama trying to spread the word about the impending Communist revolution led by Soros and antifa. Or something. It's really mostly mostly just a bull session between three Southerners and a Yankee about racism in the South, their podcast, video games, and a lot of other non-related miscellany. So come and sit a spell!
This week on The Triple Po Lyman returns and we talk about another Black person being shot ; The pandemic and stupid people; Why you should hold your nose and vote for Biden; Why Sally Hunt is dangerously unhinged ; and so much more! Two White guys talking about shit! Who could ask for more?
On this episode, Chris goes solo and he rambles about politics, and current affairs. Fortunately for y'all it is only 39 minutes long.
Sorry y'all for this being late This whole pandemic thing has got me down and I haven't had motivation to do anything. Better late than never though, right? I tried to do a Facebook Live version of the show, and it was a bit messy. For one thing, I kept getting distracted because I was trying to see if I could get someone else on last minute because it was just me. I managed to finally get Lyman on, but the feed kept cutting out, which I assume was because of the internet bandwidth being overloaded because everyone was quarantined and watching Netflix and/or porn. We basically just ran our mouths about the coronavirus and how it's fucking everything up, as well as the way dumbass politicians are fucking the response up, and how stupid people are stupid, as well as some few bright spots during this whole while apocalypse. Two White guys bitching. Who can resist? Enjoy!
Welcome once again to the The Triple Po! This week, I asked Amy from The Ginger Snaps Podcast on once again to co-host since I wasn't sure if my crazy but cool scatterbrain of a co-host Lyman was coming on. He did, however, deign to come on later. Initially, I was going to talk about the current shitshow that passes as politics nowadays, as well as everyone's favorite pandemic, but Amy convinced me that she was tired of hearing about it, and probably everyone else was too, so instead we talked about fun stuff we could do to keep our minds off the imminent apocalypse! We talked about everything from video games, to free books, to movies, and so much more! Lyman joined us about halfway through, but he didn't really have anything of substance to offer up, as usual. He's mostly here for his boyish charm. I hope we take y'all's minds off how fucked our species is for at least a little while. Now stay home and wash your fucking hands!
Lyman deigned to show up this week after having taken a break last week. Our discussions included the ‘Bernie Bro' phenomenon and whether the exist (they do) and if they are toxic (they are). Of course, I have to issue the ‘not all Bernie supporters' disclaimer (both of us are Bernie supporters), but the problem is significant enough that we think it should be called out more than it is. The coronavirus is our next topic. We discuss the latest news, including the fact that both of our home states have cases (Tennessee and Maryland), as well as the fact Italy locked the entire fucking country down. And, of course, we had to discuss the utterly incompetent handling of the outbreak by Our Orange Overlord. The individual states are having to handle themselves mostly on their own because the Feds are woefully unprepared and ignorant. Just another day in the Trump administration, although this particular fuck up might kill us all. Finally, we talk about the Democratic Nomination race and the current status. We love Bernie, but it's not looking good for his cause. We then talk about why Biden is shitty, but also that we're not fucking idiots and we will vote for him if he's the nominee. There's a lot of meat in this episode, so come hungry!
Welcome to another incredible installment of The Triple Po. There's no Lyman this week, so I have the beer king himself, my long-suffering friend Zach Law from Zachrilege Cast on to talk about various and sundry subjects. We talked about Super Tuesday; his recent trip up here to Nashvegas, and going to a soccer game which he so graciously invited me to; and, most importantly, beer. Zach brought me beer, and thus buys my friendship for at least another six months. We lastly give our thoughts about two shows we both enjoy, The Man in the High Castle and The Expanse. You'll have to tune in for the ratings we gave them. It's like a surprise! Enjoy!
This week on the Triple Po, Chris goes solo again as Lyman's finger was about to fall off and so he went to urgent care. Personally I just think he's dodging because he's intimidated by my beard. That's just my theory, though. This week I have on author and activist Krista Cox. I initially became aware of Krista when I saw her on my friend Zach's show, Zachrilege Cast. I loved the interview, and so I thought I would ask her to come on my show. Thankfully, she agreed! We talk about her work with Feminist Humanist Alliance, an organization that “strives to build healthy communities that confront discrimination and oppression guided by the principles of intersectional feminism. We are determined to engage inequality through compassion, education, and promoting social liberation”. We also discussed a grant program the FHA is offering grants for going to going to the World Humanist Congress in 2020, as well as a grant for ‘Art for Action' which facilitates making signs for demonstrations, protests, and rallies. We also talked about the article she wrote about David Silverman regarding the allegations brought against him, and the problem with powerful men in the atheist community. We talk about the status of women in the movement and their level of acceptance in the, and also the level of diversity and how representation is important. Also, we talk about the toxic male YouTube community, as well as men behaving badly on the internet. Oh, Krista does like her some dick pics, as long as they are sent consensually! This is was an informative and also really enjoyable conversation. Krista is a great person, and she is incredibly funny. And she even read a poem of hers about fish and men (did I mention she is also a poet)? I think y'all will enjoy the conversation.
This week on The Triple Po, Lyman and I shoot the shit about the current political landscape, including our thoughts on the Democratic nominees for the nomination. Spoiler alert : There's only two we can really stomach. We then discuss updates on the post-surgery status of Chris' shoulder, including the imminent beginning of some undoubtedly grueling physical therapy for at least two months. The show was a bit short because Lyman was late and we wanted to watch the debate that night. Hope you like it anyway!
It's just Chris this week, as Lyman was doing work things. I spoke to Noelle George from Foundation Beyond Belief. We talked about the organization's origins, history, and the new paths FBB are taking going forward. We also talk about how we have met a couple of times, but we can't agree on how many. Enjoy!
We are back from a two week hiatus. This hiatus was the result of Chris' clumsy ass slipping on cat litter and breaking his arm and shoulder. Pain was felt, surgery was necessary, and pills were (and still are) being taken. But nothing can stop The Triple Po Express forever! This week we have a repeat guest Kevin Watson. We discuss anarcho-communism in-depth. What it is, what it involves, pros and cons, and questions from the chat room. Now Kevin is a rambler, which he freely admits, and sometimes I am forced to make him stop talking because otherwise he would never shut up. But he is great at expressing his views and explaining things in a way even my dumb ass could understand. So get ready for a deep dive!
Alex Vitale was our guest this week. He is the author of 'The End of Policing'. We had a wide-ranging discussion about why the duties that are generally delegated to police officers are better suited to other people. We also discuss the history of policing, as well as the abuses, and we look at what a world without policing might look like. This is an interview I really looked forward to, and I really enjoyed speaking with Mr. Vitale.
Another episode of The Triple Po has landed like a ballistic missile! This week we try to lighten things a LITTLE bit. We talk about one serious story, which of course is the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani of Iran on the orders of the Tangerine Tyrant for absolutely no good fucking reason, and the resulting retaliation from Iran. Our in-depth analysis leaves no stone unturned! For the rest of the show we speak on lighter topics, including our reviews of some recent television series and our experiences with peppers and hot sauces. Also, we ruminate on the possibility of your favorite dynamic duo going to the American Atheists Conference this year on Easter weekend. If you give us money towards tickets, we will do crazy stunts for your amusement! It's true!
Happy New Year from The Postmodern Polymaths Podcast! This week we recount our New Years celebration activities, including Lyman catching himself on fire while grilling as well myself getting high and watching TV. We then go through the most popular episodes of 2019. We express some of our hopes from 2019. Finally, I deliver a little message to the haters out there who want to tell lies on me. Namely, keep my name out of your mouth. On that note, hope you enjoy the show!
Merry Christmas from The Triple Po! Lyman was busy doing family things, so it was just me hosting, but I was lucky enough to get Amy Kuhel from The Ginger Snaps to come on! We talked about difficult it can be for be some people on the holidays, especially those disowned by their family because they are LGBTQ and/or an atheist. We also talked about the serial sexual assaulter David Silverman being caught again touching women again without their consent. Fortunately, he was fired by Atheist Alliance International for this latest transgression, although they shouldn't have hired his creepy ass to begin with. We also just had some fun talking about various and sundry subjects. I hope everyone had a Happy Whatever The Fuck You Celebrate!
This week on The Triple Po we spoke to Leah Helbling. She is co-host of the Women of Faith Podcast and a former evangelical Christian. We talk about her journey from ‘finding Jesus' when she was a teenager and becoming an Evangelical Christian to deconverting and becoming an atheist activist. It really is a fascinating story filled with twists and turns, including going to the Creation Museum with her son, and how that trip and her son's questions was the catalyst for leaving religion. I hope y'all enjoy it.
A new episode of The Triple Po is upon us! This week is a news week, wherein Lyman and I give our important dudebro hot takes on current events. First off, I wanted to promote my good friend Melina Barrett and her run for Florida Senate, District 5. Melina Barratt is a trans woman running on progressive policies. I don't have to tell y'all how much we need people like her in Florida and in the South generally. I am including her information and where you can donate in the show notes. We also gave a shot-out to my friend Robbin Renaud for her kind words about the podcast. She is an awesome person, and I greatly appreciate her compliment! Lyman and I discussed several topics this week. - The shooting at a Pensacola airbase by a Saudi Air Force officer - The stabbings at London Bridge inspired by terrorism - Trump's order regarding Judaism in relation to Title IX - David Silverman being suspended yet again, this time from Atheist Alliance International, because of sexual harassment allegations - Nikki Haley's statement regarding the Confederate flag being ‘hijacked' by Dylan Roof And we talked about what alcohol we were consuming. So, basically just two guys hanging and running their mouths about the news. Enjoy!
Welcome to episode 103 of The Postmodern Polymaths Podcast! Lyman was not able to join me this week because he is on his deathbed with some sort of bacterial infection, but I somehow managed to carry on. I had the pleasure of having Chris Shelton on this week. He is a former Scientologist turned anti-cult activist and critical thinker. He has written a book called Scientology: A to Xenu, An Insider's Guide to What Scientology is All About, and he started a YouTube channel in 2013 where he has not only discussed Scientology at length but have interviewed psychologists, sociologist, cult recovery experts, and former members of many other destructive cults about their experiences. We talked about all things Scientology, a subject which really fascinates me. We talked about his experiences as a Scientologist in the Sea Org, as well as some of the more interesting facts about Scientology, including the bizarre story of Xenu an the introduction of those pesky Thetans to our planet; what a Suppressive Person is; what a prick David Miscavige is; and a lot more. This episode runs longer than usual, and really could have lasted longer because I had so many questions, but I decided to stop at around an hour and a half, because I didn't want y'all to have to endure my voice for too long. Thanks for listening!
This week on The Triple Po, we have as our guest that kooky redneck Canuck Cory Johnston, friend of the show and co-host of The Brainstorm Podcast. We talk Canadian politics and news, including the firing of long time hockey announcer Don Cherry; the state of affairs in Saskatchewan and Alberta; the recent federal elections in Canada; Trudeau and blackface; Canadian football; and the Canadian health care system. At the end of the show, we somehow managed to briefly discuss Obama and his comments about being too woke and instead being a neoliberal, centrist piece of shit. Or something like that. We had a lot of fun.
This week on The Triple Po we have co-host of The Ginger Snaps and dear friend of the show Amy Kuehl on to talk about why all cops are bastards, or ACAB for short. Amy gives us some stats about police violence and imprisonment, and she then tells us her personal stories of being harassed by cops. Lyman and myself also relay our own anecdotes about pigs behaving badly. We also talk about Amy's show The Ginger Snaps, and it's impending return from hiatus. Amy is one of the coolest and sweetest people I know, and it was such a pleasure to have her on again.
It's episode 100 of The Triple Po! I first wanted to thank my patrons for giving their hard earned money to a show of questionable value. Y'all are truly awesome. And of course I want to thank everyone who has listened to the show, given me feedback, and been supportive overall. It really means a lot, and I really do appreciate it. Of course, the new episode name and logo was unveiled this episode. The name is The Postmodern Polymaths, which is a bit of a poke at those pretentious fucks such as Jordan Peterson who ramble on incessantly about 'postmodernism' and 'cultural Marxism' ruining our world and making everyone into snowflakes. Of course, we all know what an incoherent and pseudo-intellectual douchecanoe Peterson and his ilk are. Unfortunately, there are a lot Angry White Dudes who listen to him, and they have been know to do some crazy shit. After the unveiling, Lyman and myself talked about the shooting in Santa Clarita, where three kids died in a high school shooting, including the shooter. Of course we talk about the prevalence of these sort of events, and the lack of political will to do anything about it thanks to the fact that so many politicians are in the pockets of the NRA. We talked about the necessity of background checks and the fetishizing of guns in general. On a cautiously optimistic note, we spoke about how a judge has allowed a law suit against Remington to go forward. I am pessimistic that anything will come of it, but maybe this will open the floodgates to more of these kind of suits being filed. We talked about an excellent article written by Krista Cox about her disenfranchisement from the atheist community, mainly due to men behaving badly, and the lack of accountability they face. She of course also talks about how David Silverman was able to ride the road to redemption to become general director of Atheist Alliance International, despite his demonstrable record of bad choices and shitty behavior. It's infuriating, but unfortunately not surprising. Thanks again to everyone who has listened to and supported the show. I am humbled and thankful that so many have taken time out to listen to my rambling. Here's to 100 more!
Welcome to episode 99 of The Podunk Polymath Podcast. This week I speak to Ashley Hall about her experience as a social worker, as well as the different types and challenges a member of the profession faces. We then talk about autism. We talk about what autism is; symptoms; causes; as well as controversies and misconceptions surrounding this condition. We also talk about Ashley's personal experiences with her autism; how it affects her life; and the unique challenges autism present. I learned quite a bit, and this episode runs longer than usual because this is a subject I'm really fascinated with. A note about the audio : I forgot to change the setting on the app I use to record these conversations, and thus once again I have 'Barry White Voice'. There were also some connection problems, but I think I managed to edit most of those issues out. It's still a great interview, I think, and I hope you agree. Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
Welcome to another exciting of The Triple Po! First we briefly discuss my vasectomy, both my experience and the aftermath. Let me tell you, this makes for fascinating listening! We talk briefly also about Trump's dumbassery regarding the raid that killed al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, and how it succeeded not BECAUSE of him, but IN SPITE of him, as well as his narcissistic and overblown announcement when it occurred, including classified information that will probably harm our and our allies efforts to capitalize on this killing. And of course we talk about the glorious booing that rained down upon him at Game 5 of the World Series in Washington, DC. His reaction going from a smile to a crestfallen look, on the verge of crying, is a think of pure beauty. Most of our episode though (and probably more oxygen than these douchebags deserve) are those assmonkeys over at Freethought Prophet, mostly regarding their Silverman worship and seeming inability to recognize that platforming that asshole is only further legitimizing him, thus further telegraphing to women that they shouldn't be expected to feel safe regarding powerful White dudes in the 'atheist movement'. Of course, this caused my friend Zach, who is pretty levelheaded, to light into them as only he can, before finally giving up because he has better things to do. Well we don't! And we're petty! So fuck those guys and their matching shirts and lava lamps! We are Wokus Dei! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
This week we have our good friend Nathan Dickey, host of Leap of Doubt podcast, to talk about The Satanic Temple; Nathan's membership in it; and we will be reviewing the documentary 'Hail Satan?' which discusses The Satanic Temple. If you what to know more about The Satanic Temple, or if you just like to hear White dudes ramble on incessantly, give it a listen! Nathan's sexy ASMR sample he gives us with his sexy voice is worth the price of admission alone! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
Episode 96 of the Triple Po is upon us. This week the dynamic duo talk about everybody's favorite genocidal maniac Columbus, and how his celebratory day is being rightfully co-opted by Indigenous Peoples' Day; the issue of clueless Wypipo using blackface for costumes; an innovative new approach to helping those with mental illness that doesn't include calling the cops so they can murder them; and of course random rambling in between. Somehow, my voice was recorded a couple of octaves too low, so I sound like Barry White or i'm under sedation. Anyway, we hope you enjoy! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
This episode marks a new phase of the show with the introduction of a co-host! But first, I play the nice song Tony and Maggot Brain, aka God, from Conversations with God Podcast made for me upon becoming a patron (again) The unveiling the co-host follows. And he is...Lyman Smith! A Facebook friend and fiance of my friend Natalie Newell, I finally got to meet him at the American Atheists Conference in Cincinnati, which was in April of 2019. He is incredibly intelligent, empathetic, and funny, as well as like some sort of hacker guy. We had a mostly rambling discussion about our beers and current events, including the current Turkey invasion of Syria debacle; Trump being an idiot in general; Ellen DeGeneres buddying up with Dubya; grown men being scared of Greta Thunberg; crazy cats; and so much more. Don't forget if you have a suggestion for the name of the podcast to tweet the show using the hashtag #TPPPNewName, despite it being derided and mocked by a specific listener. I am really excited about this new direction, and I'm ecstatic to have Lyman on board. I hope you agree. Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
I just became a patron (again) of Conversations with God Podcast, hosted by Tony. Of course, I also had him on for episode 82. Well, Tony does a song for all of his patrons, and I thought I would share it with you. If you want to become a patron and get your own song, go to https://www.patreon.com/convowithgodpod. Of course, you would want to check the show out first, which is at https://podtail.com/podcast/conversations-with-God, as well the other usual places. God turns out to be a bumbling bubblebrain. Who knew?
I had the opportunity to go to the abode of Cass Midgley, co-host of Everyone's Agnostic podcast, to interview Dave Warnock. Dave is an ex-pastor who deconverted to atheism. He was diagnosed with ALS fairly recently, and he made the decision not to just sit around and wait for death, but instead he is, what he calls 'dying out loud'. We talked about his past life as a pastor; his deconversion and the ensuing consequences; and his diagnosis. He has been traveling the country talking about his experience, and he is inspiring people on the way. I was really honored to speak with Dave. He is helped so many people with his words, and that is a rare trait nowadays. I hope y'all find him as amazing as I did. Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
Well The Triple Po is back once again after two months. Hopefully I will be around a while, but who call tell? My good friend and beer provider Zach Law comes on to the show again. We talk about beer, of course, but mostly David Silverman and his re-emergence as a shitty phoenix on to the atheist scene. He's suing Beth Pressman, Matt Dillahunty, and American Atheists because he was wronged! And he is making the rounds on all the douchebag podcast/YouTube circuit to decry those damn Third Wave Feminists. What a guy! We also talk about politics and the general state of the world. Zach was fun to have on as always. Enjoy! Music by Dot Dot Dash, cdbaby.com/cd/dotdotdash
