When Voyager finds Talaxians living in a rock, the Delta Flyer crashes there just in time for a demolition notice. But when Dexa and Brax take a liking to Neelix, he helps them draw a line in the regolith that only a Prime Directive breach could resolve. Which is the rarest Yeager? Do these Talaxians need an Iceland app? What's the best way to avoid dancing at a wedding? It's the episode that's always down for a pierogi party.Support the production of The Greatest GenerationGet a thing at podshop.biz!Sign up for our mailing list!Follow The Game of Buttholes: The Will of the Caretaker! The Greatest Generation is produced by Wynde PriddySocial media is managed by Rob Adler and Bill TilleyMusic by Adam Ragusea & Dark MateriaFriends of DeSoto for: Labor | Democracy | JusticeDiscuss the show using the hashtag #GreatestGen and find us on social media:YouTube | Facebook | X | Instagram | TikTok | Mastodon | Bluesky | ThreadsAnd check out these online communities run by FODs: Reddit | USS Hood Discord | Facebook group | Wikia | FriendsOfDeSoto.social

“Now hear this. Now hear this. On this week's episode of Kirking Off we continue our weapons of mass destruction block which introduces us to Jetrel the Haakonian Oppenheimer who developed a weapon that killed upwards of 300,000 Talaxians when it was deployed during a war between the Talaxians and the Haakonians. As predicted the resident Talaxian - Neelix - isn't exactly thrilled with Jetrel's presence on the Voyager, and hostility ensues. Nathan feels the episode had a few too many threads and could have benefited from more focus. Dean doesn't necessarily agree, but he spends lots of time choking on his wine (let's hope we got all that coughing out in post). Most of the crew think Neelix should stop his whinging about his entire family being vaporized, because Jetrel feels really really bad about the whole thing. Things turn when we realize that Neelix may be terminally ill, and Jetrel goes all Re-Animator to clear his conscience and possibly save himself. The lads get into the metaphysical a bit, and then go WAY off-base when they apply Patrice ONeal's scale on rating attractiveness. They manage to reign it back and wrap it up with some more conversation about the moral responsibility of designing and deploying weapons of mass destruction. We present to you “Jetrel” from Star Trek: Voyager.” Season 1 - Episode 15 Connect with us! Episode 193: Jetrel It’s been a while since we have discussed a Voyager episode so this week Holly, Aaron, and David talk the Star Trek Voyager episode Jetrel. But first we have some news. Aaron discovered on his YouTube feed that he started seeing new videos from the Axanar channel so it seems like that is back in production. This week the third Short Trek the Brightest Star was released and Holly and Aaron caught up on the paste episodes so we discuss our thoughts on Calypso and The Brightest Star. Jetrel is a Voyager season one episode that centers on Neelix of all people. But this is actually a very solid episode with strong calls to World War II and Robert Oppenheimer. Jetrel is basically Oppenheimer and he developed a weapon of mass destruction that was used on the Talaxians. The episode is ultimately a message about forgiveness and Is really quite well done. Pour yourself a very strong drink, it’s time for your weekly shot of Star Trek!     Our music is provided by! http://warp11.com/ you can follow them at! https://twitter.com/warp11 If you would like to donate to us to help keep the show going please look at our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/Synthaholics?ty=h If you are a fan of Guy Davis and his art and comics you can support him at his Patreon https://www.patreon.com/GSDavisArt?ty=h Join the Facebook conversation! https://www.facebook.com/groups/Synthaholics/ Email us synthaholics@yahoo.com Subscribe to our YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/synthaholics Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/SynthaholicDuo Or Tumblr http://synthaholics.tumblr.com/ Subscribe to us on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/synthaholics-star-trek-podcast/id981239466?mt=2 Subscribe to us on Google Play https://play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#/ps/Immzfeujybtpjrz54khq3luqj3m Subscribe to us on iHeartRadio https://www.iheart.com/show/263-synthaholics-a-star/ Or subscribe to us on Stitcher Radio http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/david-duncan/synthaholics?refid=stpr

The Talaxians. They're cooks, traders, smugglers, warriors, and narcotics dealers—just like us! We don't hear about Talaxian culture in much detail over the course of Voyager, but in this episode of To The Journey Char and Tristan get down to the nitty gritty on what it means to always have an X in your name. Would you forsake your kind and go to Earth or get cozy with a local woman on an asteroid? That's just one of the questions we seek to answer.
