Every Star Trek commander knows the prime directive overrides everything else. Conscious creators have one too - and it's just as simple and just as non-negotiable. Baby raccoons, throat gremlins, hummingbirds, and algae ponds all point to the same answer. What feels better? That's our directive!

Disclosure Day hits theaters soon. Before we see it, I sat down with Joshua to map out what "disclosure" could really be: The theories, the history, and the traps people fall into when they go down this rabbit hole. This is Part 1 of 2: the "before." We come back after the movie to break down what it actually showed. Is any of it real? Is it all a psyop? We get into the infosphere, religion and ancient contact, CE5, the Spielberg connection, and why the truth might be the most manipulated narrative there is.Part 2 drops after we've seen the film.Find Joshua on Instagram: instagram.com/joshuahanna1111Nick's Links: https://linktr.ee/nick.zeiCHAPTERS: (0:00) Cold Open(0:49) The Setup: Two-Part Disclosure Series(2:08) Joshua's First UFO Sighting at 10(4:04) A "Buffet" of Beliefs: Demons & Traps(5:53) The Infosphere: Reality Manufactured(13:22) Navigating the Psyop + Brookings Report(16:25) Were Angels Just Advanced Aliens?(20:49) Lakota Star Nations & Starseeds(24:09) Who Can You Trust? + How CE5 Works(32:39) The Encounter: Three Craft(37:22) Telepathy & Higher Intelligence(44:17) Redefining Evil & the Prime Directive(51:53) The Transhumanism Trap(53:15) Hollow Earth & Underwater Bases(56:41) Can You Even Fathom a Galaxy?(1:04:21) How Do We Know Any of This Is Real?(1:06:50) Anti-Gravity & Missing Scientists(1:10:39) The Ladder of Consciousness(1:14:02) Spielberg, UAP Rebrand & Blue Beam(1:19:45) Mass Disclosure + "Kept Primitive"(1:25:21) The Red Pill, Paul Hellyer & Goodbye#disclosure #ufo #uap #disclosureday #ce5

The Blasters & Blades PodcastIn the near future, data is currency, corporations are kingdoms, and survival is a luxury few can afford. This week, we sit down with author J. Kenton Pierce to discuss his thrilling sci-fi novel, A Kiss for Damocles. We dive deep into the neon-drenched underbelly of his world, exploring the high-stakes chess match of corporate espionage, the psychological toll of cybernetic modification, and what happens when a precision operation spirals into absolute chaos. Pull up a chair and pour a drink, it's time to step into the shadows. This was a fun interview, so go check it out. Join us for a fun show! In this episode I compare and contrast the Culture's Contact organization with the Federation from Star Trek. Specifically, I look at how Contact approaches other, less advanced civilizations and compare that to the Prime Directive. Spoiler: It's almost completely the opposite approach. Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating watch Star Trek: Enterprise's "The Communicator", joined by the episode's writer, André Bormanis. Back in Enterprise time, the fledgling ideas behind the Prime Directive get put to the test when Malcolm loses his communicator on a pre-warp planet. In a race against time before he and Archer are executed, the crew launches a daring rescue in a Suliban cell ship. Trip's arm and a civilization's innocence are the major casualties in this endeavor! Each week in The D-Con Chamber, we boldly revisit Star Trek: Enterprise through behind-the-scenes stories, watch-along commentaries, and conversations with the people whose lives were forever changed by the franchise. Whether they are breaking down classic episodes or welcoming special guests from across the Trek universe and beyond, hosts Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer mix laughs, insider perspective, and Trek appreciation in every episode.
Only Worf would have ANOTHER brother played by none other than Mr. Capulet himself, Paul Sorvino. It's great to see Michael Dorn on his back feet, and, without his prosthetics, he acts even harder. There's a planet being "observed" by Starfleet with a pre-technology culture that's been full-on infiltrated by the un-Prime Directive respecting adopted brother of Worf. The planet is about to die, and Nikolai Rozhenko ain't having it (but he is having a baby.) He cooks up a plan to abduct the people and trick them on the Holodeck, but guess what? Everything goes wrong. Perhaps the prime directive should be respected, Captain. But the brothers hug, so that's good. Welcome back! We're kicking off our sixth season of Sidebar by dissecting imaginary legal codes of fiction to uncover truths about our real-world search for fairness. From the ethical dilemmas of "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Better Call Saul" to the lawless world of Harry Potter, where a lack of attorneys often leaves characters in peril, we examine how pop culture shapes our understanding of justice. The surprising top dog in fantasy law? "Star Trek," with its prophetic examinations of AI and ownership. Should rights be reserved for biological life alone? Does the Prime Directive offer a universal model for human rights? We also dive into the connection between fanfiction tinhatting and Supreme Court originalism, exploring why interpreting 18th-century intent is not so different from fans extrapolating the secret lives of Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.Join us as we learn why 90% of Harry Potter's problems could have been solved with a lawyer.[Editor's note: He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is indeed named, numerous times, within. Proceed with caution!]Special guests:Lenora Ledwon, professor of law at St. Thomas UniversityStacey Lantagne, professor of law at Suffolk UniversityKiersten Marcil, attorney and author of The Enlightened sagaFabrice Defferrard, professor of law at the University of ReimsThis episode was produced by Kirk McDaniel. When a hidden observation outpost is revealed to a primitive culture who long ago abandoned their belief in the supernatural, Picard becomes a god figure and the Prime Directive gets violated deeply, OH MYYY. This conversation delves into the intricate connections between Star Trek, mythology, and the influence of Gene Roddenberry's experiences with the supernatural. It explores how the series reflects ancient narratives and modern societal issues, while also examining the role of the Nine, a pantheon of intelligences that may have inspired the show's themes. The discussion further touches on the implications of UFO phenomena, fringe Christian perspectives, and the utopian vision presented in Star Trek, culminating in a reflection on the prime directive as a modern reinterpretation of divine order. In this conversation, the speakers explore the themes of Star Trek as a reflection of human society, mythology, and the implications of advanced technology. They discuss the Prime Directive, predictive programming, and the portrayal of space exploration as a hopeful future. The conversation delves into covert operations represented by Section 31, the role of the Vulcans as ancient aliens, and the public's perception of alien disclosure. Additionally, they examine the dangers of transhumanism, eugenics, and the societal narratives surrounding overpopulation.Daniel X:@FRN_Daniel_XEmail: ministryx@protonmail.com

Terry Haayema: The Product Owner Who Made Retros Unsafe (And How We Fixed It) Read the full Show Notes and search through the world's largest audio library on Agile and Scrum directly on the Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast website: http://bit.ly/SMTP_ShowNotes. "The biggest anti-pattern was that he made the retro unsafe... he would come to the retro and called people out for things that had not been done." The Bad Product Owner: The PO Who Made Retros Unsafe Terry describes a product owner who came from a management background focused on widgets and KPIs, completely unprepared for the collaborative nature of the product owner role. This person's biggest anti-pattern was making retrospectives unsafe by calling out individual team members for things not completed or not done to his satisfaction. When gentle coaching interventions failed, Terry took the dramatic step of excluding the PO from retrospectives entirely. Surprisingly, this shock treatment worked - when the PO asked why he wasn't invited, Terry used SBI feedback (Situation, Behavior, Impact) to help him understand how his actions were destroying team dynamics. The story has a positive ending, with the PO eventually understanding and changing his approach. In this segment, we refer to the Retrospective Prime Directive, and the SBI feedback framework. The Great Product Owner: The Customer Connector Terry's best product owner example saw their role not just as the voice of the customer, but as the connector between team and customers. Instead of relying solely on user stories and personas, this PO organized regular informal events where real customers and team members could meet, share pizza and beer, and have genuine conversations. These social connections led to deep customer understanding and resulted in their best feature ever - a simple addition that showed customers their last six orders for easy reordering. This feature increased both order frequency and size while dramatically improving the team's ability to empathize with their users. Self-reflection Question: How might you help your product owner move from being the voice of the customer to being the bridge that connects your team directly with real users? [The Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast Recommends]
Data spends weeks communicating with a young girl on the internet and learns that her planet is destroying itself. Thankful that Chris Hansen isn't there when they arrive, Data breaks the Prime Directive and probably several Secondary Directives to save his new underage friend. Where is the line when it comes to saving lives? Why is Data more human than everyone else all of a sudden? And why is everyone so quick to perform a memory wipe on an alien child without consent? Join Dr. Salla on Patreon for Early Releases, Webinar Perks and More.Visit https://Patreon.com/MichaelSalla/ Gosia Duszak, a Polish UFO researcher, along with her Spanish colleague, Robert, began receiving internet chat messages from Swaruu, a young girl from the planet Erra in the Taygetan star system in 2017. Swaruu revealed how extraterrestrials from the Pleiadian star system along with members of the Galactic Federation of Worlds, were interacting with humanity to help free itself from negative extraterrestrials and their human minions. Gosia and Robert began publicly releasing the messages first in Spanish (2017) and then in English (2018) on their respective websites. They revealed how the Taygetans, who came from four inhabited planets in their star system, along with Galactic Federation members from all over the galaxy observed a Prime Directive that guided their activities and intervention in Earth affairs. Swaruu relayed the 10 principles comprising the Prime Directive in 2018, which is the first time these were publicly released in their entirety. Swaruu explained how there were important philosophical differences between extraterrestrials civilizations over how the Prime Directive should be implemented, which accounted for why the Taygetans were often critical of the Federation's lack of action in preventing human misery on Earth and acted independently. In 2020, Aneeka, another Taygetan girl, this time from the planet Temmer, took over from Swaruu and continued sending messages through the internet to Gosia and Robert. Aneeka was followed by other individuals from the planets Erra and Temmer. These included the females, Alenym of Temmer (ex-Queen of Taygeta), Athena Elizabeth of Temeer, Nai'shara of Erra, and Sophia Swaruu, along with Queen Mari, First of Taygeta. Two Taygetan males also transmitted messages, Dhor Kaal'el of Temmer and Raguel of Temmer. The Taygeta messages have been released in video format along transcripts and number well over 500 by 2025, and collectively comprise one of the largest bodies of work on extraterrestrial life and their intervention on Earth. In her first interview on Exopolitics Today, Gosia answers questions about how and why the Taygetans began to independently send messages to receptive humans in 2008, but only she and Robert chose to make these public. Gosia learned that she was a walk-in from Taygeta and had arrived on Earth in 2017 via an immersion chamber, which is a combination of a medbed and holographic entertainment unit used by Taygetans for immersive experiences. She explained that her Taygetan body remains in the immersion chamber and will wake up at the end of her Earth experience and will have aged only a fraction of the time she has spent on Earth.Gosia Duszak's websites are:• Cosmic Agency (English) - https://www.youtube.com/@CosmicAgency• Canal de Conocimiento Alternativo/Alternative Knowledge Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYjj30Cp0U9coWALouInCbg• Aventuras Personales/Personal Adventures https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDyCcxwjrOgbvZV9Jjp6v-g• Mi Musica/My Music https://www.youtube.com/user/LaMalGosia
“Four-and-a-Half Vulcans” What's the best way to pass as a Vulcan? Become one! That's what Pike, Uhura, La'an, and Chapel do in order to save a pre-warp civilization without violating the Prime Directive. Doesn't make sense? Don't worry, it's all just a setup for a story that aims to shed light on what goes on in the Vulcan mind. After their one-minute mission is done, the foursome is unable to transform back into humans but finds that they like being Vulcan more. This is a very troubling development for the crew as they watch Nurse Chapel shun all relationships in favor of work, Pike fall in love with 42-minute rotating shifts for more efficient operations, Uhura brainwash her boyfriend, and La'an try to take over the ship and start an interstellar war. The only hope for returning things to normal? A Vulcan called Doug. It's documentary time! Anika and Liz look straight into the camera and share their feelings about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' "What Is Starfleet?", including... We have complicated feelings about this episode! It interrogates the documentary as a form of propaganda, but also interrogates the Federation in bad faith? SNW is not equipped to deal with Israel/Palestine or Ukraine/Russia through allegory Liz would like to apologise to the Spanish speaking population of Earth for her pronunciation of "Beto" This is an episode about journalism that doesn't want the audience to ask too many questions Anika appreciates the messiness of this story Did we not? Have a whole Prime Directive? About not getting involved in foreign wars? SNW has a lot of the same problems as Voyager We did not need a self-harm story from Spock, anymore than we needed an animal harm story from Pike It's not enough that now everyone joins Starfleet because of trauma, but now everyone is alone and friendless until they are assigned to the hero ship It's so unfair? How people keep bringing up that murder M'Benga did? It's actually really triggering for him? Anika explains how Starfleet is like the spirit of Norway

Episode Summary Thomas and Frank revisit Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 1 Episode 1 and explain why it works for both new and longtime fans. We cover Pike's headspace after Discovery, Spock and TPring's engagement, how Order One becomes the Prime Directive, and how a single battle accidentally kickstarts a warp arms race on another world. We also dig into the show's look, the crew dynamic, canon ties from Eugenics Wars to Wrath of Khan, and how modern Trek balances optimism with real world echoes. Timestamps and Topics 00:00 Welcome to Challenge Accepted and why this episode is a great Trek starting point 01:04 What the Prime Directive means and why it matters 02:37 Pike in Montana and the call to rescue Number One 03:14 Kidnapped Number One and strange warp tech on Kylie 279 03:58 How Enterprise and Discovery footage led to a warp bomb and a broken Prime Directive 04:18 Pike's big stick moment that ends a civil conflict 05:19 Why warp cores are powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands 06:26 Canon notes on Eugenics Wars and World War Three 08:07 Pike's leadership style and visions of his fate 10:02 The rescue team and Rebecca Romijn's Number One 14:22 Spock across eras and why Ethan Peck works 15:13 Spock as a lens for humanity and Wrath of Khan ties 22:23 Representation and the franchise's long history of inclusion 31:28 Production value and the volume driven look 39:17 La An Noonien Singh and the weight of canon on character arcs Key Takeaways Strange New Worlds S1E1 is a clean entry point that reintroduces core Trek ideals while setting up Pike's personal stakes. The Prime Directive is framed through cause and effect when an earlier battle leads an emerging world to build a warp bomb. Pike leads with empathy and accountability, inviting his crew to think instead of dictating answers. The episode blends canon history like Eugenics Wars and Wrath of Khan with a fresh, episodic tone. Visuals carry real weight, with cinematic ship shots and a polished stage volume look. Trek's tradition of inclusion is present through character and story, not lectures. Memorable Quotes “This is such a great entry point for new Trek fans and returning Trek fans.” “Okay. What is the Prime Directive. Let's just get that out.” “We actually broke Order One so now we have to intervene.” “Pike is that cool cowboy and he still admits his flaws.” “The ships and sets look incredible and it makes the story easy to buy.” Call to Action Enjoyed the episode. If you're a fan of Star Trek, you'll be familiar with the concept of the ‘Prime Directive'. Put simply, the idea is that you avoid contact with people who haven't reached your level of technological development. This is more or less the approach of governments that still have uncontacted peoples living within the borders of their country today. But, what do you do when initial contact has already been made? How do you manage that situation without creating a catastrophe?John Reid is a Freelance Writer working with the Guardian on a series about uncontacted peoples and author of ‘Ever Green: Saving Big Forests to Save the Planet'. He joins guest host Tom Dunne to discuss.
Keith sits down with Andrew Falkous to discuss Andrew's early history with music, getting inspired to play by attending the Reading Festival in his youth, his song writing and creative process, the new mclusky LP "The World Is Still Here And So Are We" on Ipecac Recordings, the making of the album which began in 2019, the making of the video for "Autofocus on the Prime Directive", the currency of scarcity in the music world, parenting, dating in modern times, Andrew's reflections on mclusky and his post mclusky band Future of the Left, getting punched in the face and more.
Justin and Jason discuss how gluten might be Justin's new nemesis and why it might be causing his brain buzzing, Jack's adventures in programming, how Justin went all in on AI coding and turned out to be a failure and why he wants to see a rant off between Jason and ThePrimeTime (formerly ThePrimegen), The Copilot Delusion, why Silicon Valley's ‘Tiny Team' Era is Here (or maybe has been for a while), the only thing Jason r cares about when it comes to Math Academy, the future of software Justin's fear that Lightwave mayeend up being irrelavant, Colby's powerlifting win, Izzy's filmmaking "internship", and Areli's summer of gymnastics camps, and finally, the series Murderbot. “Emanations” 30th-anniversary reflections Having failed to learn their lesson about roaming around in strange caves, a landing party from Voyager investigates an asteroid when they think they've discovered an unknown element. Instead of minerals, they find bodies—18 of them—and lose one of their own: Harry Kim. The eager ensign finds himself trapped in a coffin on an alien planet. What's worse is that the planet is nowhere near the asteroid. In fact, it's in another dimension. How will he get back? And what secrets of life, the universe, and everything will Janeway and her crew reveal to the poor alien woman who woke up on Voyager? In this episode of To The Journey, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 30th-anniversary retrospective that will take you through all of Star Trek: Voyager, one episode at a time. Carmen Jurado: The Power of Constructive Feedback in Building Trust in Agile Teams Read the full Show Notes and search through the world's largest audio library on Agile and Scrum directly on the Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast website: http://bit.ly/SMTP_ShowNotes. Carmen identifies the hallmark of a successful team as one that allows itself to be vulnerable. Success isn't just about positive feedback but creating an environment where team members feel safe to discuss mistakes openly. She shares an experience where a team member made an error that caused a significant project delay, prompting other team members to complain. Instead of allowing this to create division, Carmen facilitated an open discussion where the team member acknowledged their mistake and received constructive feedback from colleagues. This exchange built trust and demonstrated that the team had developed the psychological safety needed to hold each other accountable. Carmen emphasizes that this accountability for work and agreements is a responsibility that belongs to the entire team, not just the Scrum Master. Self-reflection Question: How can you foster greater psychological safety in your team so members feel comfortable addressing mistakes directly with each other? Featured Retrospective Format for the Week: Golden Apples Carmen recommends the "Golden Apples" retrospective format, which draws inspiration from Greek mythology. This creative format incorporates feedback questions about sprints and the team, with game elements that introduce friendly competition. Carmen typically reserves this format for festive times of the year to boost team morale. She also mentions her fondness for movie-themed retrospectives and encourages Scrum Masters to invest time in creating fun, creative retrospective experiences that engage the team. In this segment, we refer to Norm Kerth's Retrospective Prime Directive. [Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast Recommends]

This week, Scott was joined by his Lawfare colleagues Molly Reynolds and Quinta Jurecic to work through the week's big national security news stories, including:“Kyiv Calm and Tarry On.” This past Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the White House for what turned into a disastrous meeting, in which President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance baited him into a heated public argument over Russia's invasion of his country. In its aftermath, Trump refused to sign the minerals deal Zelensky was there to finalize and has now cut off U.S. assistance to Ukraine—though, at the time of recording, reports were emerging that the minerals deal was now back on track. And while European allies have stepped up their support for Ukraine, Trump's Republican allies have united in support of him and increasingly called for Zelenskyy's resignation. What contributed to this explosive about-face in U.S. policy towards Ukraine? And what does it tell us about the Trump administration's decision-making?“Betting Against the House.” House Majority Leader Mike Johnson scored what many are framing as a big win last week when he—with help from President Trump and ally Elon Musk—was able to unite his fractious caucus's narrow majority to pass their preferred budget. But there are concerns that aspects of the budget—and the broader agenda Trump is pressuring his party to unite behind—will likely undermine Republicans' prospects of holding the House in 2026 midterm elections. What is the state of governance in Congress at the moment?
