Thus, it affects our lives and society in many ways. Yet, misconceptions about science are widespread in governments, the general public, and even among many scientists. Science and Beyond explores these misconceptions that may have grave and even disastrous consequences for individuals and society as was evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they led to much unnecessary suffering, sickness, and death. The misconceptions also obscure the limitations of science. Not seeing these limitations prevents us from seeing and going beyond them, which leads to a crippled life and an impoverished society. But reaching beyond the limitations of science, as outlined in this book, can open the doors to a more fulfilled, saner, healthier, happier, and more peaceful life and society. This is something I can get behind, as you all know I steer towards skepticism of mind-body duality, an obsession with abstraction and word use. Korzybski and Rolf offer excellent ways of viewing the problem, and ways that you can try to gain a little sanity in your own life, while the world around you seems to become ever more "unsane". Wie am Freitag versprochen gibt es heute eine neue Folge mit den frischesten News vom Wochenende und heutigen Tag. An der Blu-ray-Front passiert wieder einmal einiges, trotzdem wird es nicht konkreter. Einige Monate dürften wir uns daher noch gedulden müssen. Es ist außerdem eine kleine Unterlage aus Stahl und Aluminumbeschichtung mit dem Namen SlimKey Stand ist auf den Markt gekommen. Sie hat im Vergleich zu anderen Lösungen keine USB-Hubs integriert und ist meiner Meinung nach auch ein ganzes Stück schöner und flexibler in den Einsatzbereichen. Mit $39,99 kann man es auch durchaus ein echtes Schnäppchen nennen. Das iPhone-SDK lässt die Online-Presse wieder aufleben, so stellt die Macworld eine Wunschliste mit 25 iPhone-Anwendungen zusammen, die teilweise sinnvoll, aber auch unmöglich bis nicht praktikabel sind. Leap 1.0 ist nach einer mehrmonatigen Betaphase in den Startlöchern und bietet für Tagging- und Organisationsfreaks eine nette Alternative zu bisherigen Lösungen. Die Anwendung hat auch einige Funktionen, die ich bisher noch nicht gesehen habe. Der berühmt berüchtigte Entwickler David Watanabe hat seinen Feedreader NewsFire in der Version 1.5 zum kostenlosen Download online gestellt und nennt diesen Schritt selber ein Experiment. Womit der Herr wohl experimentiert? Mit der Gunst seiner Anwender? Time will tell. Wem Mac OS X nicht instabil genug ist, der kann die Stabilität seines Systems mit Hilfe des Application Enhancers APE von Unsanity weiter aufs Spiel setzen.
