ABUSED? STALKED? - Demand Women get Tech Protection! (Part 2) The Black Spy Podcast 214, Season 22, Episode 0005 In this week's episode of The Black Spy Podcast, Carlton King and Firgas Esack continue last week's deep dive into one of society's most urgent and under-addressed crises — the protection of women, girls, and others from domestic violence and stalking. The discussions examine both the failures of current protective systems and the promise of new technologies, such as GPS-based electronic monitoring devices, to transform safety and accountability. Carlton and Firgas focus particularly on the innovative Talitrix LLC wrist-worn electronic monitoring systems already in use in the United States. These systems differ significantly from traditional ankle tags by offering real-time GPS tracking, two-way communication, biometric verification, and advanced geofencing capabilities. This means that for the first time, courts, police, and victims themselves could be instantly alerted if a perpetrator breaches a restraining or non-molestation order — potentially preventing violence before it happens. Victims could be warned in real time when a perpetrator approaches a prohibited zone, allowing them to take immediate protective action and giving authorities the ability to intervene rather than merely react to tragedy. The podcast also scrutinizes why, despite these advances, such life-saving technologies are not yet widely deployed in the UK. The hosts question whether bureaucratic inertia, cost concerns, or lack of political will have delayed the adoption of electronic monitoring in domestic violence contexts — even as statistics show domestic abuse accounts for nearly one-fifth of all violent crime in the UK. Firgas Esack, herself a survivor, brings a personal and poignant perspective to the discussion, highlighting how delayed interventions and weak enforcement leave victims vulnerable, while perpetrators often exploit the system's gaps. In the second part, Carlton broadens the debate to consider the moral, legal, and privacy dimensions of widespread monitoring. Can technology be implemented ethically without becoming intrusive or misused by authorities? Could a coordinated rollout of systems like Talitrix save countless lives by making restraining orders truly enforceable for the first time? Through expert interviews, survivor testimonies, and international comparisons, The Black Spy Podcast challenges listeners to rethink how modern society uses technology — not just for convenience or commerce, but for justice and protection. These episodes argue powerfully that the tools already exist to make domestic abuse prevention proactive rather than reactive — but only if the UK government has the courage to act. In this episode of Shark Theory, Baylor Barbee shares a powerful mindset shift that helps beat burnout and keep progress moving—even on your worst days. Using lessons from nature, farming, and his own personal routines, Baylor introduces a practical strategy: learning how to "tag in" the different versions of yourself. Instead of forcing the same energy every day, Baylor explains how embracing your natural ebbs and flows allows you to stay productive, avoid zero days, and actually turn "off days" into your secret weapon. Key Takeaways: Consistency ≠ Sameness: True consistency isn't doing the same thing every day—it's bringing the same effort, even if that effort looks different. Rest Is Part of Growth: Just like farmland needs time to replenish, your mind and body need cycles of renewal to perform at their best. Leverage Every Version of Yourself: On high-energy days, lean into social or creative work. On low-energy days, use reflection, writing, or planning to move forward. Stop Pretending to Be Superman: You don't have to be "on" all the time. Embrace your humanity and work with it, not against it. Never Have a Zero Day: By tagging in the right version of yourself, you'll always make progress—even if it looks different than you planned. Notable Quotes: “Farmers don't plant in depleted fields—and neither should you.” “Consistency is not doing the same thing every day. It's bringing the same effort every day.” “When one version of you is tired, tag in the other one.” “Stop trying to be a superhero. You're human—and that's your advantage.”

Stop Treating High Point Like a Buying Trip. Do This Instead… High Point Market isn't just a place to shop for furniture. It's one of the most underused marketing tools you have at your disposal. Many designers make the mistake of approaching it like a giant showroom, simply hunting for products to fill their client projects. However, by doing so, they miss out on significant opportunities to grow their brand, expand their network, and establish themselves as industry experts in a way that truly sets them apart. What if you saw High Point as your personal marketing stage instead? Style Spotters do exactly that, turning tours, vendor visits, and social media coverage into a curated, client-attracting showcase of their aesthetic and expertise. By adopting this approach, you can transform every Market visit into a launchpad for building authority, forging real vendor relationships, and laying the groundwork for licensing deals or brand collaborations that elevate your business to the next level. What does it take to spend more of your time creating real impact...That's the central question we're exploring in our Journey Management Playbook series. In the last episode, we did something pretty amazing: we took a pile of raw data and, with a click of a button, watched AI generate a structured journey map in a matter of minutes.I'll admit even though I was a bit skeptical to start with, this felt pretty magical. But the truth is that this first draft is just the beginning. As you have hopefully seen, an AI-generated journey gives you an incredible head start, but it's not yet something you should bet your business on. So, how do you move from this first draft to a decision-making tool you can truly trust? How do you make it yours? That's exactly where we're going in Episode 4. This is the essential next step.Once again, Tingting and I roll up our sleeves and show you the practical, step-by-step process of:Prioritizing what to tackle first, so you don't get overwhelmed.Verifying AI-generated insights to build confidence.Enriching the journey using properties to add depth.Using filters to focus on what matters most.As you'll see, we're now entering the areas where the power of modern AI-driven journey management truly comes alive. There's still a lot of work for us to do, but AI allows us to focus our time on the areas where we can add the most value.Just like in the previous episodes, we're diving deep inside TheyDo with a lot of screen sharing. If you're listening to the podcast version, I highly recommend having the accompanying slides handy to follow along visually. You can find them in the show notes.Take care,~ Marc--- [ 1. What was once a thriving, creative, definitely NOT fucking curated by anyone who thought they ran the walls bullshit, community with a deep and diverse history has now sadly become a cesspool of crap where few seem to follow the rules of the game, they lost the point, they lost their spine, they lost the respect. Graffiti vs Streetart vs Tagging vs Jew Hate vs Clicks and likes and cowards who hide behind culturally appropriated cos playing keffiyehs. The Walls will always be for ALL whether pussy ass pinkwashed or florally fucked ya hate won't win ya stupid fuck. Be nice if some of the OGs would have shown the fuck up. So stay drippy and sticky and keep ya shit up. Thanks for listening. Follow along as always @doodlehedz Don't let the HATE fill the void. There's something about Beach Boys memories, fake concert tickets, and the scent of summer that brings out the best and rawest of Kevin Nash. This week, the conversation starts breezy and nostalgic—but like life, it takes some turns you don't quite expect. If you've ever watched your kid sleep the night before a trip or stared at an empty room filled with echoes, you'll feel this one. Kevin opens up in a way that few public figures ever do, especially around the birthday of his late son. It's a vulnerable look at fatherhood, regret, love, and the kind of memories that hit you in waves—sometimes warm, sometimes brutal. Sean is there with the steady hand, offering just the right balance of empathy and poking the bear. There's also a lot of beauty in this episode—talk of poetry, video games, and growing up with a brain wired a little differently. If you've ever loved someone on the spectrum, or been that someone, the stories Kevin tells might stick with you long after the episode ends. And because it's still Kliq This, don't worry—there's chatter about ‘80s sex symbols, dumb teenage mistakes, Florida weirdness, and why Kevin might be the last man alive who still defends Denise Richards with his whole chest. Whether you came for the wrestling takes, the father-son bond, or just want to know what the hell was really going on with R-Truth's t-shirt… this is one of those episodes that lingers. Press play. With Mother's Day around the corner, this conversation offers a timely look at what it takes to lead a high-growth startup, raise a family, and build the future of women's health, all at the same time. Caitlyn shares how her childhood in Hawaii sparked a love of science, what inspired her to co-found Nalu Bio, and why she's betting big on cannabinoids becoming as essential as vitamins. If you're curious about the science behind cannabis and want to feel inspired about the future of women's health, you'll be glad you got to know this innovative founder. "I believe cannabinoids are the next big thing, much like vitamins were 70 years ago. Back then, no one knew what vitamins did or what they were for, but now everyone takes them." - Caitlyn Krebs If you enjoyed this episode, we recommend Episode 286.
