Reports say Argentine President Mauricio Macri is planning to eliminate or merge as many as 13 government ministries to save money. Urgent cutbacks are required to cut the budget deficit and quell a run on the peso, which is currently the world's second-worst performing currency, behind the Turkish Lira, once the near-worthless Venezuelan Bolivar is removed from the equation. At the same time as that, the country is sending its finance minister to Washington DC today to try and speed up the release of IMF funds to keep the nation afloat. Daniel Gallas, our South America correspondent, explains. Also in the programme, other emerging markets are suffering too, as independent economist Michael Hughes explains. Socialism has completely wrecked Venezuela. What's the latest in that country? Whats in the News with stories on Steven Segal?, collateral damage, the cost of war, ridesharing regulations, and false arrests. And, finally, a new Ask Me Anything segments, where I answer your burning questions! This episode is brought to you by ZenCash, a cryptocurrency that infuses privacy, anonymity, and security done right. Also brought to you by Free Talk Live, providing you with fresh, pro-liberty content 7 days a week on more than 180 radio stations across the country. WHAT'S RUSTLING MY JIMMIES I haven't talked much about the socialist issues in Venezuela on this show, and there is no excuse for that, especially when it is a perfect example of the evils of socialism, and it is only 1,500 miles from US shores. With hyperinflation of the Venezuelan Bolivar making the money worthless, literally, massive food shortages and long lines of people trying to buy what little food there is, oil output of the country's socialized oil companies dropping dramatically, increasing rates of medicine and medical equipment not being available, huge increases in crime, violence, and poverty, and the shutting down of opposition political parties, Venezuela is in a crisis. The people have been protesting, but they are getting nowhere, of course, especially because the government owns all the guns. Venezuela implemented sweeping gun control in 2012. Under the law, only the army, police, and certain groups like security companies are able to buy arms from the state-owned weapons manufacturer and importer. This gives the people little ability to truly stand up against the totalitarian government they find themselves under. Their choices are essential to shut up, take it, and slowly starve, or leave. Well, even though there are many who are fleeing, up to 800 every single day sneak into Brazil alone, there are still many who either don't choose that option or can't, for whatever reason. For those, every day brings some new bullshit from the government. Take this latest bit of news, for example. WHAT'S IN THE NEWS In moving on up news, actor Steven Segal has been appointed by Russia as a Special Envoy to the US. In collateral damage news, after nearly two decades of killing civilian brown people in the Middle-East, the US is now going to create processes for civilian casualty reporting. In war is the health of the state news, American taxpayers have spent $1.46 trillion on wars abroad since September 11, 2001. This means we've spent $250 million a day for the past 16 years on "The War on Terror." In I can't drive 55 news, New York City has decided to pump the brakes on ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft by passing tight, first-in-the-nation regulations that both limit the number of drivers allowed in the city and empower regulators to pass more restrictions in the coming months and years. In bad boys news, a Biscayne Park cop admits to framing two black men as Florida town's false arrest scandal widens. ASK ME ANYTHING It's been a few weeks since I've done an AMA segment, so I'm going to rectify that right now. Questions are on protecting Seasteads, free-market company watch, and the Mises Caucus.

Freedom is speech is supposedly the law of the land unless you're anti-Semitic in some states. What's in the News with stories on FDA is clueless, socialism sucks, device security, stupid cops, and coward cops. And, New Hampshire, It's Like This Too on a judge ruling federal border patrol checkpoints unconstitutional. This episode is brought to you by ZenCash, a cryptocurrency that infuses privacy, anonymity, and security done right. Also brought to you by NordVPN, the fastest, easiest to use service to protect your online presence that I've ever seen. WHAT'S RUSTLING MY JIMMIES If you honestly think any promises in any Constitution ever written are worth a damn, you're going to want to hear this. South Carolina is poised to be the first state to pass legislation to adopt an Israel-centric definition for “anti-Semitism.” This will then apply to the state's campuses, potentially limiting discussion of Israel-Palestine to one-sided information that fosters U.S. policies that provide Israel $10 million per day. The bill has been heralded in Israel as “a landmark bill” that will lead change across the U.S. and the world. WHAT'S IN THE NEWS In coward cops news, a deputy with the Carroll County, Maryland Sheriff's Office fatally shot a groundhog in Eldersburg on Sunday in an incident captured on video that has been widely shared on social media. In more stupid cop news, Chad Larner, the training director of the K-9 Training Academy in Macon County, Illinois said in a recent interview that police departments throughout the state may have to euthanize drug dogs if marijuana is legalized. In FDA is clueless news, thanks to the FDA, maple syrup and honey made in New Hampshire may eventually carry nutrition labels saying they contain “added sugar,” with a footnote explaining that the sugar wasn't actually added. In socialism sucks news, For Venezuela, last year in August, the value of the online game World of Warcraft's virtual (read: fake) gold was as much as double the Venezuelan Bolivar, but recently, it has been shown that virtual Azeroth gold is valued as much as 7 times more than the Bolivar, and this number might be even higher in terms of the currency's black market value. In device security news, a new iOS update is about to roll out in the next few weeks or even days that will disable the Lightning port after 7 days since the device has been last unlocked. What is the meaning of this security measure, and what are the reasons behind it? NEW HAMPSHIRE, IT'S LIKE THIS TOO Police dogs used to sniff out drugs at a federal border patrol checkpoint on Interstate 93 last summer amounted to a violation of the New Hampshire state Constitution, a judge ruled, throwing out evidence against 18 defendants. The American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire had challenged the drug charges against 18 people who were arrested after being stopped and searched by Customs and Border Protection agents in the town of Woodstock last year, about 90 miles from the U.S. border. Federal agents used drug-sniffing dogs to “alert” them of suspicious vehicles, which would be diverted off the road and searched. The ACLU argued that the evidence from the federal checkpoint can't be used in state prosecutions because the warrantless searches violated the state Constitution. Plymouth circuit court Judge Thomas Rappa, Jr. agreed.
