In Episode 89, I sit down with comedian Matt O'Brien. Our friendship goes way back to 2011 when I was just starting out in stand-up comedy, and Matt has always been there to offer his valuable advice on the industry. We also discuss his experiences working with the iconic Conan O'Brien, his transition from Toronto to Los Angeles, and much more. Matt O'Brien is an LA-based comedian with an impressive list of accomplishments. He has been featured on MTV, CTV, Fuse TV, MuchMusic, and The Comedy Network. Notably, Matt has performed at prestigious events like Just For Laughs in Montreal and the JFL42 festival in Toronto, where he was among the top 42 performers. His talent has been recognized with awards such as Best Stand Up at the LA Comedy Festival and the title of Sirius XM Radio's Next Top Comic. In 2014, he was even nominated for Best Break Out Artist at the Canadian Comedy Awards. I am the host and producer of Perfect 10 Comedy usually around the 1st Saturday of every month.• [15:45] – It`s weird what comedians do… In the show I just try to put people that are like a little different so that the show has variety and also stay consistent with the type of people I bring into the show. Each comedian does around 5-10 minutes.• [23:07] – I think that people should be able to say whatever they want; but there might be consequences to what you say. ISSUE #16 Boomer Phillips & Jason RouseThis issue is out of control. Jason is the Court Jester From Hell. He’s been seen on Andrew Dice Clay’s The Blue Show on Showtime and has a very offensive, funny podcast called Jason Rouse’s Safe Word. Boomer, is equally as offensive. My old roommate is a comedic actor who was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for his role in the movie Bounty Hunters starring Trish Stratus. He’s a former star on Video On Trial on Much in Canada. He can currently be seen on Crave TV’s Letterkenny. Boomer shares stories of his bar tending days when wrestlers used to come into his bar and he’d joke with them and entertain them. One time on a WWF/Molson Beer promotion Boomer had to share his bar with a guest bartender...Lita. I’m going to admit, it was hard to keep wrestling on track on this one. But like a Dog Collar Chain Match, it’s utter chaos yet fully entertaining. So spend an hour or so hanging out with us on Talk’N’Wrestling, where wrestling and comedy collide!Jason RouseJason Rouse with Trish Stratus in the RingAndrew Dice Clay's The Blue ShowJason Rouse's Safe WordBoomer Phillips InstagramBoomer Phillips in Bounty HuntersBoomer Phillips IMDB
