January 25th, 1993 is the date for the 3rd ever episode of WWF Monday Night RAW. Yokozuka has won the Royal Rumble the night before, but that's not the focus of this episode. Ric Flair's WWF contract is up so they need a match to write him off! The main event is a Loser Leaves WWF match between Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair that turns into a straight up classic. There's blood, there's cheating, there's Bobby Heenan going absolutely nuts at ringside. Mr. Perfect send Ric Flair packing. Also, Kamala battles the Brooklyn Brawler and slaps his belly, Randy Savage wrestles the Repo Man to try and get his stolen hat back, and Rob Bartlett rambles on! It's 1993 WWF where they are still trying to figure out what the show is going to be. In an effort to not oversell and under-deliver, this week's episode is about like last week's, and to prove it, Raven and Feeney take a deep dive into Klaatu. Which Klaatu? Yes; What's the Genesis of Genesis and which Genesis lineup was the best? Feeney gets accused of being a Raven ass-licker, agree or disagree? The pondering of Macho Man's voice and whether or not he hurt his throat doing it; Breaking down the difference between Looney Tunes and Disney cartoons and which one has the better characters; Feeney is looking for convention advice and Rich is hot for Geena Davis; Raven wonders how rich Rich would be if he never spent a penny on music; FINALLY the return of Fanmail, and of course, all the usual perversions. Congress has kept relatively quiet during the first month of President Donald Trump's second term, but in the coming weeks it will be thrust into the spotlight. Amidst intraparty Republican debate over tax and spending cuts, Trump will deliver an address to Congress on Tuesday night. Legislators will also be tasked with funding the government by March 14 or face a shutdown. In this installment of the 538 Politics podcast, Galen speaks with Rachael Bade and Geoffrey Skelley about what to expect from congressional negotiations. They also ask whether a new poll on attitudes around gender norms is a good or bad use of polling. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

February 5th, 1988 is one of the most historic shows in the Golden Era of the WWF. This was the night Hulk Hogan was defending the WWF title against Andre The Giant. At the end of the match Hulk Hogan kicked out, but the ref counted to 3 anyway. There was chaos in the ring as we saw 2 of the same referees. THERE WERE 2 DAVE HEBNERS! “HOW MUCH DID THE PLASTIC SURGERY COST?” screamed Hulk Hogan! We wouldn't find out why there were 2 Dave Hebners, on that night, but we did know that Andre The Giant was the new WWF Champion. After winning, he immediately gave the belt to The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. Also, Macho Man Randy Savage defended his WWF Intercontinental Title against the Honky Tonk Man and a short match between The Hart Foundation and Strike Force gets cut off as the show ends.
