Ricordiamo oggi nella liturgia i genitori della Beata Vergine Maria. Un piccolo commento lo inseriamo qui sotto. Per la lectio continua invece seguiamo le letture del giorno. Tanto il Primo quanto il Secondo Testamento, quando parlano dell’alleanza, fanno sempre riferimento a un sacrificio di sangue: gli Israeliti ne sono aspersi e Gesù lo dona per la salvezza di tutti. Il brano della prima lettura di oggi presenta una scena grandiosa che un po’ ci fa dimenticare quella accozzaglia di gente in fuga dall’Egitto, ma come sempre bisogna ridimensionare: ciò che la memoria propone è sempre più grande e maestoso di quanto gli avvenimenti lo siano stati nella realtà. Questo non vuol togliere niente alla centralità dell’episodio; al contrario, ci mette in guardia dal non ricercare Dio nella grandezza degli eventi. A tal proposito si potrebbe rileggere 1Re 19,9-13, in cui il profeta Elia scopre Dio nella brezza leggera e non certo nei terremoti e nel vento impetuoso. Il celebrare l’alleanza con Dio ha una dimensione comunitaria che si esprime nel gesto liturgico-cultuale, ma a fondamento c’è un rapporto personale. La liturgia odierna, infatti, ci ricorda che ogni celebrazione eucaristica rinnova quell’alleanza nel sangue di Cristo, rendendoci partecipi non solo di un rito, ma di una relazione viva con Dio. Ogni volta che ascoltiamo la Parola e condividiamo il Pane spezzato, siamo chiamati a rinnovare la nostra risposta personale e comunitaria all’invito di Dio. Il passo dell’Esodo oggi proposto è preceduto da continui colloqui tra Dio e Mosè, senza considerare che sovente, nell’Antico Testamento, il popolo eletto è ritenuto una persona, anzi, in molti casi, la sposa. Ed è nel rapporto di intimità con Dio che riusciamo ad accettare la parabola del grano e della zizzania. Spesso, guardandoci intorno, ci chiediamo il perché di tanto male e non sappiamo dare una risposta. Da cristiani, però, dovremmo poter offrire una speranza a noi stessi e a quanti ci chiedono ragione del nostro credere “nonostante tutto”. La speranza risiede in Cristo e nel suo Regno che, anche se non in maniera eclatante, cresce e si stabilizza nell’attesa dell’esplosione gioiosa del bene.

Le 21 juillet 2025, plusieurs chefs d'États de gauche se sont réunis à Santiago au Chili au nom de la démocratie, face à une montée croissante de l'extrême droite partout dans le monde. Un reportage de Naïla Derroisné.  Les chefs d'États du Chili, de la Colombie, de l'Uruguay, du Brésil et d'Espagne étaient présents à Santiago pour défendre la démocratie, renforcer le multilatéralisme, combattre la désinformation et pour plus de justice sociale. Chacun leur tour, ils ont fait une déclaration sur les ambitions de leurs pays et de ce groupe de travail pour sauver la démocratie. « Le chemin vers la conquête de la démocratie et de la liberté a été long », a rappelé le président brésilien Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Plusieurs solutions pour renforcer les institutions démocratiques ont été discutées.  L'Église haïtienne hausse le ton face à la violence des gangs  Frantz Duval, le rédacteur en chef du journal haïtien Le Nouvelliste était en direct sur RFI. Il est revenu sur la Une du jour. Le journal a choisi de parler de la prise de position de la conférence des évêques haïtiens qui dénoncent la barbarie des gangs et l'inaction de l'État. « L'Église catholique sort de son silence pour exprimer les préoccupations partagées par les Haïtiens », note le rédacteur en chef. Les affrontements armés sont très fréquents dans le pays, le 24 juillet trois policiers ont été tués par des gangs dans le pays, un schéma « qui se répète trop souvent », note Frantz Duval. Au Canada, des groupes de militants fascistes s'entraînent au combat Dans un article publié par le média anglophone CBC News, on découvre que dans des parcs publics, des gymnases ou des centres d'arts martiaux au Canada, des suprémacistes blancs se préparent à la violence, en toute discrétion. Le travail de la rédaction est précis et colossal. Pendant deux mois, les journalistes ont identifié les lieux dans lesquels les « groupes actifs », ces groupes secrets de combat, bien connus dans la communauté nationaliste, se réunissent et recrutent d'autres membres. CBC a épluché des centaines de comptes Instagram, Facebook, analysé des milliers de captures d'écran. Le but : trouver des indices à partir de publications anonymes de ces hommes. Recouper des informations pour identifier des lieux, des visages... Parmi eux, il y a par exemple celui qui se fait appeler Primo, qui s'entraîne dans une salle de jiujitsu, et qui publie des messages comme : « Rendre le Canada blanc à nouveau » sur son Twitter, le soir en rentrant chez lui. L'enquête a permis d'identifier Primo et d'autres suprémacistes blancs. Désormais, on sait où ils s'entraînent, où ils se réunissent. Mais le journal CBCNews précise que c'est un phénomène qui va au-delà des frontières du Canada : il y aurait aujourd'hui 187 clubs actifs dans 27 pays. Aux États-Unis, un accord financier de 221 millions de dollars a été signé entre Donald Trump et l'Université Columbia Cet accord, c'est un « deal historique », titre le quotidien très conservateur et pro-Trump, le New York Post. Sur la Une du journal, il y a une image de plusieurs étudiants cagoulés, et puis cette phrase : « une amende de 200 millions de dollars pour discrimination et non-protection des étudiants juifs ». 200 millions de dollars, c'est bien cette somme astronomique que l'établissement a accepté de verser, hier, à l'État fédéral américain. En échange, il promet un retour des subventions et la fin des pressions menées par l'administration Trump. Elles se sont multipliées depuis le début des manifestations contre les massacres à Gaza, sur le campus, que Donald Trump a taxé d'antisémites.  Dans le pays, ce compromis à été vivement critiqué. Le journal étudiant de l'université, le Spectator, évoque les frustrations face à la capitulation de la directrice de l'établissement, Claire Shipman, et lui donne la parole. « Cet accord est conforme à nos valeurs et ne franchit pas les lignes rouges que nous avons définies », assure-t-elle. Dans un autre quotidien, le New York Times, Suresh Naidu, un professeur d'économie à Columbia, n'y croit pas. « Pensons-nous vraiment que cet arrangement destructeur empêchera l'administration Trump d'arrêter à nouveau de financer la recherche ? » questionne-t-il. L'enseignant évoque les fausses promesses de Donald Trump lors de son dernier mandat et son imprévisibilité. En Colombie, une condamnation historique  Le service investigation du média colombien El Tiempo a suivi de très près ce procès contre d'anciens dirigeants de la multinationale Chiquita. Une grosse entreprise américaine spécialisée dans la production de bananes.  Hier, sept anciens patrons ont été condamnés à onze ans de prison pour avoir financé, via l'entreprise, un groupe paramilitaire d'extrême droite, responsable de plusieurs crimes contre les guérillas de gauche en Colombie dans les années 90. L'une des périodes de la guerre civile dans le pays, qui a fait des millions de morts. La radio colombienne Caracol salue « une décision clé ». Et une vraie étape de franchie dans l'une des affaires les plus emblématiques de financement des groupes paramilitaires en Colombie. La storia scorre bene, i protagonisti sono azzeccati, la colonna sonora è buona e l'ambientazione affascinante.Seppur semplice nella narrazione, il risultato di questa pellicola è molto incoraggiante per la nuova gestione produttiva del Marvel Cinematic Universe. Poleg številnih znanstvenih člankov je avtor znanstvene monografije z naslovom Poročilo o melanholiji: primer Kafka (2020), kratkoprozne zbirke Šarm (2017) in romana Otok psov (2022), za katerega je bil pred dvema letoma nominiran za nagrado kresnik, in romana Surferski dnevi. Poleg lucidnega kolaža na zeleni naslovnici nas k branju zgodbe o dogodivščinah surferske druščine privabita tudi ilustracija zemljevida večine znamenitosti iz knjige in opis glavnih junakov na začetku romana. Roman Surferski dnevi je sestavljen iz dveh delov, napisanih iz vidika dveh glavnih junakov – prvi del iz prvoosebne perspektive portugalskega surferja Homerja Fernandeza, drugi del pa iz tretjeosebnega vidika prekarnega detektiva in nekdanjega policista Caetana Assunta, ki preiskuje smrt prvega in ves čas upa, da mu bodo podaljšali enomesečno pogodbo. Čeprav lahko roman beremo kot kritiko prekarnih delovnih razmerij, v katere so ves čas vpeti skorajda vsi surferji v zgodbi, saj zaradi manka začasnih del ne morejo uravnotežiti finančne neodvisnosti in svobode, ki jo prinaša ocean z velikanskimi valovi, ga lahko beremo tudi kot kritiko bogatih in nadutih surferjev, ki izkoriščajo revne surferje za to, da na njihovih plečih doživijo pet minut slave. Surfanje je tako že na začetku romana predstavljeno kot metafora za dvig iz revščine in iniciacija v zrelo dobo materialne in čustvene neodvisnosti. Mali Fernandez, ki ga oče njegovega najboljšega prijatelja skupaj s Fernandezovo mamo deložira iz skromne hiške v bližini obale, saj v nekem trenutku ne zmoreta plačevati vedno višje najemnine, izreče presunljivo misel, v kateri strne surfersko filozofijo: “Surfanje je postalo fantazija o dvigu iz revščine. Zaživeti neki drug lajf … Ampak nisem znal ali hotel zaživeti drugega lajfa. Znal sem samo surfati, ničesar drugega si nisem želel. Ničesar, absolutno ničesar. To je postalo problem. Večkrat. Videl sem skozi slike in strategije, s katerimi nas je družba reveže želela prisiliti, da sodelujemo. Že zgodaj sem zasovražil pozerje. Tudi pozerje, ki so dobro surfali. Malo teže, a brez resnih problemov celo šminkerje, ki so imeli dobro srce, a so v mladosti nasedli istim surferskim revijam kot jaz. Ameriška Surfer, portugalske Surf Portugal, Onfire, Splash – brez teh revij ne bi bil enak, ampak v njih sem prebral toliko pozerskih intervjujev s portugalskimi wannabeji, ki so surfanje popularizirali, a tudi pokvarili. Najprej so bili potepuhi in uporniki, nato so hoteli postati sponzorirani športniki.” Nekaj, kar na začetku deluje kot uporniška in romantična surferska subkultura, se tako v očeh bralca postopoma razkriva kot nepravičen kastni sistem, na dnu katerega so utrjeni, a zaradi nenehne menjave del tudi utrujeni in podplačani deskarji, ki čakajo na orjaški val svojega življenja, na vrhu pa je kasta bogatih deskarjev, ki se izživlja nad siromašnimi in jim ponuja različne življenje ogrožajoče projekte. Mlačnik v prvem delu lepo opisuje družbeno diskrepanco med različnimi “kastami”, utrjevanje socialnih statusov in surferskih simbolov ter prvinsko hrepenenje po preseganju vsega zemeljskega v neskončnem čakanju na val, ki bo odtehtal vse muke. Mali Fernandez ima tako že od vsega začetka smolo, saj ga obkrožajo ljubosumni in povzpetniški prijatelji, ki ga za nameček vodijo v svet alkohola, droge in nasilja. Čeprav iz policijskega, toksikološkega in obdukcijskega poročila, ki vznikne proti koncu romana, ne izvemo več kot to, da verjetno ni šlo za samomor ali nesrečen splet okoliščin, temveč za umor, nas pisatelj po drugi strani drži v šahu tudi z osebnima zgodbama detektiva Caetana in forenzične kriminologinje Glorie Esteves, ki imata hudičevo dober razlog, da ne zaključita prehitro z domnevami, saj potemtakem ne bi dobila podaljšane delovne pogodbe pa tudi nadaljnjih priložnosti za medsebojno flirtanje ne. V prvem delu romana Mlačnik zelo duhovito in spontano razvija psihološke like, v drugem delu pa mu povzročata težave preskok med preteklostjo in sedanjostjo ter kronološki način podajanja informacij, kjer se vse vrti okrog detektiva in njegovih osebnih strahov in ambicij. Čeprav na koncu romana izvemo, kdo je ubil malega Fernandeza, občutek nedokončanosti in opeharjenosti nekako obvisi v zraku, saj med branjem ne dobimo manjkajočega koščka v mozaiku dogodkov zadnjo noč pred umorom. Morda bi dramaturški manko pisatelj lahko nadoknadil, če bi v prvi del romana uvrstil še eno poglavje, ki bi razodelo dogajanje v zadnjih urah pred smrtjo glavnega junaka in razkrilo stopnjujočo se napetost med njim in morilcem. Tako pa se nam zdi smrt mladega Fernandeza, ki je tik pred tem, da ujame val svojega življenja, vsaj dvojno krivična – tako iz vidika zastopanja surferske etike kot iz vidika čakanja na zadoščenje. Na zadoščenje zaradi krivične deložacije, metanja polen pod noge s strani ostalih surferjev in potrjevanja kvalitetne in suverene drže v oceanu plenilcev. Odlika romana Surferski dnevi je torej v tem, da nam Primož Mlačnik pokaže, kako je meja med plenilcem in plenom, žrtvijo in morilcem, trenutkom in neskončnostjo med surferji zabrisana in kako na koncu dneva ostane le boj za golo preživetje: “Vsi smo surferski detektivi. Raziskujemo ocean, preiskujemo obzorje, razlikujemo med dobrimi in slabimi valovi ter odrejamo pravico. V naših očeh je največji zločin neposurfan val. Naša naloga je, da ga najdemo. Napadamo kot morski psi, v drsenju uživamo kot delfini. Iščemo največjo hitrost, nesmrten trenutek negibnosti in ustavljenega časa. Ko se znajdemo sredi sikajočega pršenja, vsak vesel ali žalosten življenjski dogodek presojamo skladno s tem veličastnim trenutkom. Najbolj nasilni valovi postanejo nam naklonjena nesebična dobrota oceana, medtem ko se kopensko življenje spremeni v niz zločinskih incidentov.”
