Top 40, Country, Pop, Rock, R&B, Hip, Reaggae and Reggaeton mixes for ALL of life events presented by Dj Shizz.
Just wanted to create a mix that shared a message of black pride. Every race needs to know their story and embrace who they are. This allows us to carry on traditions and share the stories with others. I am proud of my race and who I am and desire to share a bit about me to all who would like to know. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
There are times when we simply need a word to keep us going. There has been unrest over the past week for atrocities heaped upon Black families. That said, I’m a christian and I desire to share the hope that is within me. This mix is simply one to ease your minds for a while and offer a way of escape through prayer. I hope this in some way, shape, or form affects and uplifts your spirits. Dj Shizz *I'm adding the track list in case you want to look up a few of the artist* Strong God / Kirk Franklin Situation / Jonathan McReynolds Faith / J Moss Potter and Friend (feat. Dante Bowe) / Tammi Haddon He Knows / Jonathan McReynolds Jesus, What Would I Do Without You? / Edward W. Smith I'm Not Perfect / Anthony Hamilton Human / Kierra "KiKi" Sheard Will You Be Ready / Commisioned Hold Me (Leaning) / Commissioned Complete Me / Deitrick Haddon TIL I GET AN ANSWER / DAVE HOLLISTER Cathedral / Jonathan McReynolds The City / Commisioned I Am Here / Commissioned Nobody / J Moss Grateful / Kierra "KiKi" Sheard Forgiven / Deitrick Haddon Praise Him Through the Night / Fred Hammond How Great Is Our God (Sunday Best Performance) / Kefia Rollerson Made It Home / Deitrick Haddon
Many times I've shared that through music I often gain clarity and peace as life's trials come my way. Through song selection this mix sprinkles "purpose" in with "fun" and "message" in with "wisdom" as I encourage us not to move toward "self-destruction" by responding solely on emotion, but I also encourage us to call "911" the joke that it is and to "fight the power" that BE. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
On May 25, 2020 George Floyd became another BLACK man lynched at the hands of a white person allegedly representing law enforcement. This created a void in my heart all week and some songs came to mind that I wanted to share. The beautiful thing is that while we start off reflecting in sorrow, we end on triumph and a song of overcoming adversity. The black persons ability to rise about the injustices that have and continue to be dealt to us is not magic, it is simply a part of our LIFE's ENERGY. I've long thought that that is what creates the fear in those who attempt to oppress and dominate us is the fact that after all of these years it cannot be done. All are created equal and EVERY race has super powers, We as BLACKS must tap into and live within ours. We are triumphant! Enjoy, Dj Shizz
There are over 20 tracks here that I feel are receiving very little airplay, but are worth of some airtime. Over this hour mix we're gonna let these tracks breathe! Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Wanted to create a fun playlist to bring us into the weekend. It's 100% a throwback mix as it has songs that were mainly from the 90's :-) Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Yesterday during our walk my wife and i heard a song from the 80's, we began to sing, but on the walk home looked up the lyrics. We were 100% WRONG! (lol) That created dialogue around some of the Pop songs we heard while growing up, thus was born the "pop-up" mix. Hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane. Dj Shizz
You'll notice that this mix is actually a double play mix. Two song selections from the same artist. I named it "covid" so I remember the time and the space I was in when I created it. Slow jams allow me to reflect so I enjoy creating these mixes. It also reminds me of when recording to cassette tapes was the thing to do. Lol. (I surely just showed my age) Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Secretly I enjoy Robin Thicke's music and I wanted to share some the songs that create moments and memories for me with you. It's the perfect listen while you work soundtrack. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
Early in the Erica and I were looking at something on Instagram and heard the Jackson 5 song. It stayed in my head ALL day. While not my "smoothest" mix, I always record them and share them out even when mistakes are made. Practice makes perfect, and sometimes you guys get to see behind the curtain and experience the work that goes into making me skilled at my craft. I still know you will enjoy this selection. Stay Safe, Dj Shizz
During Saturday nights event we closed with a few slow songs that were well received. That let me know that this crowd liked all types of music and I thought wouldn't it be cool to create a mix made of of the songs those that came to the virtual party loved. Little did I know they would suggest 3hrs. worth of music. I guess the joke was on me:-) Not wanting to disappoint I added all of their songs to one playlist instead of creating multiples. 3.5hrs. later here is the mix before I go to sleep. Happy Tuesday! Hope You Enjoy, Dj Shizz
On Saturday April 25, 2020 we celebrated a friends birthday. With the world still on "lockdown" the party had to be virtual. Liz decided to not cancel her birthday bash and instead host it on line using IG Live. The rest as they say is history! This mix represents some of the tracks played last night and a few that were on the list, but couldn't fit in to the 2 plus hours we partied :-) This was seriously one of the best parties we had been to in a while. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
My teammates at work offered up some of their favorite songs. This is a mix of Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Country, R&B, EDM and more..... I enjoyed learning new music a revisiting old favorites. I hope you enjoy it as well. Dj Shizz
While Saturday nights event was nothing like any of us expected. These industry heavyweights are masters at their craft. We wanted to celebrate with them last night, but I put this mix together to remind of what these two have given us. Yes, the memes will continue because they are too good to pass up, but let's do so in fun knowing that these two have literally provided the soundtracks for many of our lives. Teddy Rile and Babyface are in my eyes national treasures when it come to music. Enjoy, Dj Shizz

This mix is to help deliver HOPE as we navigating our new normal with the COVID-19. As you read the titles you'll know that each song was carefully curated to meet the feelings of despair, loneliness, feeling out of control, to help know that God is in control even if we cannot see or feel it. To help with your discovery of new gospel music I'm including the track list: People - Jonathan McReynolds No Weapon - Fred Hammond Settle Here - William Murphy Made A Way - Travis Greene Why - Jonathan McReynolds ft. Over the weekend Boogie Down Experiences released another Podcast in which the crew shared a few of their favorite "date", "slow jam" songs. The choices were so good I knew I needed to grab these and place them into a mix. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
I like Millions of people today was shell shocked to learn of the death of 9 people via a helicopter crash. As I've gotten older death no matter who it is affects me. I feel it deeply. I guess it's me finally realizing my own mortality. As I reflected on the news of the day I did what I often do when I'm hurting, I found solace in music. Here are a few of the songs I played that helped as I attempted to not to make sense of this tragedy, but to know that tragedy will affect us all at one time or another and we must live our lives better. I'd like someone to stop and think of me the way we are remembering those lost today. Hope you enjoy and BE KIND! Dj Shizz
I want to thank everyone who contributed songs to this mix (Darren, Candace, Joe, Sheree, Tracy, Joel and Nia, Robyn, Mini and my baby Erica :-) I love your engagement throughout the night. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
My wife and I are have seen Babyface perform live multiple times. Not only is he one of the most prolific singer/songwriters of my generation, he puts on a fun and entertaining show. This mix is a way to recognize his impact and influence in the industry of film and music. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
A mix made up mainly of songs that have recently dropped. There a few hidden "gems" layered in :-) Yummy by Justin Bieber, Heat by Gunna and Chris Brown and more... Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Many of us are E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles fans and are disappointed in our season ending. I wanted a mix to lift our spirits and help us start talking trash for the 2021 season :-) The Eagles with all of our injuries had a solid year. Congrats EAGLES! Enjoy, Dj Shizz
This week while I Dj'd at the barbershop a topic (more like a one sided debate) of which band was better, Jodeci or Dry-Hill? This prompted me to create a 10 son playlist of both bands music. You decide! Either way, it's a great way to spend 49minutes :-) Enjoy, Dj Shizz
I wanted to create a mix you could play while you open presents that would blend in and not distract as you celebrate the day with loved one. Enjoy the day and live in the moments of it! Dj Shizz
*Explicit Lyrics* This is simply a curated playlist of my favorite tracks from the R&B artist "The Dream". Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Each year I create a mix that has undertones of the festive season, but that will also get you out of your seat so you can dance, dance, dance! This year we start off with Lil Duval " Christmas Trees" and end with a hype rendition of "Feliz Navidad" :-) Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
This mix crafted just for Justin and Brit as they celebrate the holidays. This mix has a little of everything. Slow music, new hip hop hits and ends with a rousing version of "This Christmas" by Donnie Hathaway. Hope you Enjoy, Dj Shizz
Inspired by the newly released Made In China by Julian King this mix begins with "I Care" by Julian King. We then move to some more known songs by George Michael, Justin Bieber and Ralph Tresvant ending with a newer track by Troy Sivan called "Dance to This". A truly eclectic selection of tracks makes this a must have in your rotation. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Today 11/22 our friend dropped his single (Season's) I dug the song so much that I dragged myself out of the bed and created a mix for it. In doing this mix I did a first, I began and ended the mix with the song "Season's: :-) I pray you this mix, but more importantly dig Julian King's single. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
*ALERT* This is not a mix This is a whole CD. A friend wanted a CD from the 90's that cannot be found on any of the streaming or paid platforms. I created this so it can be easily streamed and enjoyed. The group is "pure Soul" who had a #1 hit in the 90's called " We Must Be In Love". For quick reference I've added a rough start time for each track instead of the normal track length since this is one continuous track :-) 1. We Must Be in Love - 0.00 2. Something About the Way That You Do - 4.25 3. I Want You Back - 8.26 4. What Did We Do? - 12.41 5. I Feel Like Running - 16.56 6. You Stay on My Mind - 20.55 7. Stairway to Heaven - 25.00 8. I appreciated the support and engagement you guys give me. The second slow mix of this week happened because you guys shared so many songs that I couldn't fit them all in one mix :-) My friend "Jenny" got on a roll and sent me some songs I truly hadn't listened to in years and I felt I owed it to you guys to share. We have "Love Is Contagious" by Taja Sevelle, "Iggn' Me" by Chico Debarge, " Nice & Slow" by Usher and to end it all on an aspirational note "Dreams" by Boyz II Men. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
*DISCLAIMER - This practice mix contains technical difficulties around the 43min. mark* I started not to post, but felt that I needed to because for a GOOD 42min. the mix is FIRE:-) My sound cut out at the 43min. mark Come to find out it was self inflicted. (insert dunce cap) Hope you enjoy! Dj Shizz

Last week sometime our friend over at OSOS podcast posted a photo of a brilliant sunset. I stole the photo, but it made me envision driving with no destination in particular. Just peacefully existing. I think the word in the post was "serenity". Thus the serenity mix was born. A grouping of slow jams that will whisk you away in thought. Some familiar and of course as always I'm going to pepper in some you may not have heard of. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Early yesterday (Thursday) my sons friend and co-anchor requested a mix for her and her boyfriend. Some of the streaming services were interrupting their work out with meaningless commercials. She and her boyfriend shared 5 songs each and I filled in the blanks to create a mix tailored especially for them. I had so much fun creating that I felt like I needed to share it with everyone. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
It is almost impossible to list to latin flavored music and not desire to dance. In this day and age, we ALL need a reason to dance. This is your reason! Starting off with "Suavemente" by Elvis Crespo and ending with "Perm" by Bruno Mars this mix will have you dancing around your house, work and trying to while you drive. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
It's that time of year again. My friend said his daughter needed a "warm up" mix for her High School Soccer team. So of course they sent a list of their favorite songs and asked me to compile them into a cohesive story....a few hours later out pops the CCH warm up mix :-) This ones for you Matti! Hope You Enjoy, Dj Shizz

This is just a collection of love songs to set the mood as we head into the cooler season. The mix will help you ease into your work week as well. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
A song by William Murphy "Settle Here" helped create this mix. I began to think of my sons walk with the Lord and I became beyond proud that he has made a decision for his life to follow the Lord. I wanted to create a mix that was hopeful, created joy and a sense of longing for the good things God has in store for us. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
This beat starts off with a song " Beautiful" - Mali Music celebrating our son's departure to Japan. We end with a solid mix of Afro-Beat music which will surely have you pining for a vacation.
This mix is called THE break-up/CELEBRATION mix because when a relationship ends that should have ended it's time for celebration even though it’s painful. This mix takes you through some of the emotions you feel when wronged in an ending relationship from being disgusted on “Not Gon’ Cry” to saying “I’d Rather Be Broke” than be with the person who's hurting you. We move on from there to a brighter place singing, “Don’t Worry Be Happy” - Bobby McFerrin, “Thank U, Next” - Arian Grande and “Freedom" - Pharrell. Then onto empowerment....Regaining your swag on “Return of the Mack” - Mark Morrison, and remembering you’re a “Champion” - Kanye West and ending with the power woman’s anthem “I’m Every Woman” - Whitney version. While this is a woman empowerment song. Everyone can relate to the feeling that you're enough and it's only you who's stopping you from living your BEST life. Hope you enjoy, Shizz Celebrate Change:-)
*EXPLICIT LYRICS* This mix starts out with an Afro-Beat song by an artist named Rema. The song is called "Dumb". The second song was written by one of my nephews and his crew Jada-Fete. We move through Lady Gaga, Darius Coleman, Dee-1, Kyle Alexander and many other artist. The songs aren't in heavy rotation on the radio yet, but you have to hear them somewhere to request them. My job as your "Dj" is to connect you with what I feel is new and noteworthy. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
Many of you know that my love for music extends well past R&B and Hip Hop. I’m a fan of Country, Classic Rock and some Pop. I was going through some music that a friend (Big Kev) and I were talking about and decided to put together a mix of classic rock and pop. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
Last week I asked my friends to share some of their favorite slow R&B jams old and new. Little did I know that every friend was a Dj and truly had amazing tracks to share. This one mix has morphed into three and this is the first installment. Hope you enjoy, Dj Shizz
I love creating mixes that are requests. This mix is for my man Chris who is a fan of Miguel. This mix is made up Miguel collaborations and songs. Hope you guys learn a few new ones and enjoy along the way. Dj Shizz

The last few days I've asked a few friends to share songs that they would like to hear on a slow jam mix. I've received so many selections that I will need to break the songs into three separate mixes. That means over the next week we will have a total of 4 new slow jam mixes perfect for an evening out, an evening with friends or, Date Night :-) Enjoy, Dj Shizz
I'm a DMX fan and when I heard the song "Blood Red" it reminded me of the DMX days. Then, the mix took a life of its own and we have an exclusive song called "Best Life" by artist Trouble Mal. This mix has Pop, R&B and little Reggaeton and Hip Hop. Enjoy, Dj Shizz
