This Mix was inspired by my friend "Drew". He needed just some instrumentals that kids in lower grades could listen to and enjoy without the fear of compromising lyrical content. He also wanted the instrumentals to be somewhat familiar.  Not sure if I met his need, but it was fun trying. One noteworthy song..."Ain't It Fun"  a song by the group "Paramore". In 2015 Ken’s band Failure released their first album in 19 years, and Paramore's hit "Ain't It Fun” (mixed by Ken) won a Grammy for ”Best Rock Song”.  Ken’s work on both sides of the glass has been varied and successful, and we were happy to sit down with him backstage in San Diego to discuss the making of his new record, a secret mix project he’s really excited about, his favorite gear, plugins, and some of the stuff he uses in the Failure live show.  Artists Ken Andrews has worked with include: Paramore, Pete Yorn, Beck, Tenacious D, Blink-182, M83, A Perfect Circle, Chris Cornell, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jimmy Eat World, Nine Inch Nails, and Failure.  Ken Andrews

I've been in the middle of a busy run of great some great gigs lately, so I felt inspired to do not one, but two, new podcasts. There's just been too much great new music out lately to limit it to just one set (or, to one sound!). Part one features a much more gay dancefloor sound. Part two (April Showers - A Little EDM'y ... forthcoming) will have a different sound with much harder beats (with my eye looking towards Coachella in two weeks!), but still with lots of vocals.
