Claddagh Watch Patrol will hold a fundraising 4-Ball Scramble at Oughterard Golf Club on Friday, 17 July. Since its establishment in mid-2019, Claddagh Watch has played a vital role in helping to prevent accidental deaths and suicides along Galway's waterways through its dedicated volunteer night patrols. The organisation has been fortunate to receive outstanding support from a number of sponsors over the years, none more so than the Windsor Motormall, Ballybrit. The title sponsor of this year's 4-Ball Scramble is Glenamaddy man, Sean Brogan of UTS Technologies, Dublin who has also been a long-time supporter and sponsor of Claddagh Watch Patrol. Cunga Cycling Club in Cong will host the Cycling Ireland Road Race National Championships this week with events begininng on Thursday. The best cyclists in the country will be taking to the roads with the goal of becoming national champion. With preparations in full swing, Hannah Maria Gibney joined John in studio to talk about the event.

The game of Cricket has seen a major increase in participation and interest in recent years. Most recently, the province has earned a place at the top table and last season, Galway County Cricket Club won the Cricket Ireland National Cup. This season, the province was due to play in a new competition, the Wild Atlantic Way. Unfortunately, both games were washed out. William Davies Reports:

There were huge celebrations among the Para Cycling Community in Ireland on Sunday when Ballymoe's Richael Timothy outsprinted Dutch rider Aniek van den Aarssen and France's Tifany Huot Marchand to win Gold at the UEC Para Cycling European Road Championships in Maniago and Montereale Valcellina. It was Timothy's second medal of the Championships, having already won bronze in the Women's C3 Time Trial on Friday. Richael spoke to John Mulligan following her return home.

Galway United marked their historic arrival to Pearse Stadium on Friday (19th June 2026) with a 2-1 victory over Derry City, to strengthen their seventh place position and move five points clear of the relegation positions. Two Stephen Walsh goals ensured him another place in the annals of the club as it proved enough to take the three points, giving them a first home win in the SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division since beating the same opposition back in April. Michael Duffy got a late penalty for Derry City while James McClean also made an appearance from the bench. The long wait is over as Galway United finally make their debut in Pearse Stadium this evening (Friday, 19th June 2026) when they host Derry City in the SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division. John Caulfield's team have already taken four points off the Candystripes in two prevous outings this season, but still find themselves four points behind their opponents, even if United have two games in hand. This fixture has always been an entertaining joust with the teams both scoring against each other in the last six fixtures. They've also traded wins regularly with one occcasion being in Eamonn Deacy Park back in 2009 when Galway United won 3-1 thanks to goals from Cian McBrien, Aaron Greene and Jason Molloy. A young bodybuilder from Knocknacarra has returned from Spain where she won bronze at the highly prestigious Amateur Olympia. 21 year old Taylor Brown won bronze last weekend in Alicante to go with the gold and silver won at Muscle Contest Ireland that was held in Dublin last month. Taylor has been involved in Bodybuilding for the past two years and she spoke to John Mulligan about her success and her career so far.

The game was origionally scheduled for Pearse Stadium as Eamon Deacy Park is undergoing ground works. However, this was not possible following the draw for the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Round 2A which sees Galway take on Westmeath on Sunday afternoon at the same venue.
