Emmet Kennedy is joined by one of the sharpest minds in horse racing, Gavin Lynch, for a live chat at the iconic Curragh. Gavin, known for his astute betting strategies, delves into why he priorities betting over jumps rather than flat racing, and the challenges he faces placing bets with big corporate bookmakers. The conversation heats up as the duo debates whether Cheltenham Festival has started to take its loyal fans for granted, and if there's an excessive focus on the event. The discussion moves to if Ballyburn stick to hurdles and aim for the Champion Hurdle, or should he go chasing? The lads also ponder if legendary trainer Nicky Henderson should be a bit more reserved in his public comments. They compare the strategic approaches of Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott, reflecting on the key moment that solidified Mullins as the GOAT. As they look ahead to the next season, they speculate on whether Galopin Des Champs can secure a third Gold Cup, and who might pose the biggest threat to his reign. Plus, Gavin shares his wisdom on why backing a horse for two Cheltenham races could be a costly mistake.
