Today, we sit down with some Crime & Entertainment Alumni if you will. Brian O'Dea was a very accomplished marijuana smuggler in his day. He once successfully smuggled over 75 tons of pot in just two trips on a commercial fishing boat. Tim was also a very successful smuggler in his own right. In a 25 year period, he smuggled roughly 30 million pounds of Marijuana. With resumes like this, you can imagine the stories that these two guys have to share is mind-blowing. Today's episode will be episode 1 of "Smuggler Stories" here on Crime & Entertainment.Brian's episode on C & Ehttps://youtu.be/LM9iFjk3YcsTim's Episode on C & Ehttps://youtu.be/VdinoV7lOkUFollow Crime & Entertainment BelowLike us on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/crimeandente...Follow us on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/crimenenter...Listen on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/4T67Bs5...Listen on Apple Music - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Listen on Stitcher - https://www.stitcher.com/show/crime-e...Listen on Google Podcast - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0...Listen on Amazon Music - https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/9cd...
In this fun conversation with XYPN member Brian O'Neill, CFP®, founder of Winged Wealth Management and Financial Planning, we hear how niching not only what you know, but who you know can radically grow your business—even in the first year! Brian spent the first 20 years of his career as an Air Force pilot, during which time he developed a passion for personal finance. After considering what to do after retirement from the military, he decided to launch a firm dedicated to working with fighter pilots like himself. Brian launched his firm in January 2021 and came out of the starting gates hot, working with 30 clients in his first year, 23 of which were retainer clients. He's grown quickly and shared that he'll gross over $200,000 in 2023, just his third year in business. He shared his marketing secret sauces that helped him grow quickly as well as build upon the equity of trust his fellow fighter pilots feel towards each other. Finally, we talked about his view of the future of the business and how that's changed from a plan to stay solo to a desire to grow, not only to serve more clients in need of his services but also his family—in the form of a succession plan for his business. Every entrepreneur has to make a similar decision, and I think you'll find his thoughts on the subject illuminating if you're near that junction in your journey. -Alan You can find show notes and more information by clicking here: http://www.xyplanningnetwork.com/361

Guy talks to Brian O'Keefe about fly fishing around the world, traveling and photography. From Brian: I have had so much fun pretending to call fly fishing photography work, that I still describe this endeavor as a 'hobby out of control'. I sold my first fly fishing photograph when I was 16 years old, and let me tell you, that was a fairly long time ago. Since then, it has been my absolute pleasure to work with some of the finest publishers, magazine and photo editors and graphic artists in the world. I consider the following publishers of fly fishing photography some of the finest, and thank you for using me as a contributor: Field & Stream Magazine, USA Today, The Drake Magazine, Outside Magazine, American Angler Magazine, Orvis, Patagonia, Fly Fisherman Magazine, Outdoor Life Magazine, Catch Magazine, Fly Rod and Reel Magazine, Northwest Flyfishing Magazine, Voyage de Pesch Magazine, Oregon Tourism, Chile Tourism... I could go on and on, especially with the addition of blogs and all the websites for fly fishing lodges, products, travel companies, etc. It has been a good ride and thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way. I am more of a shoot from the hip photographer. I rarely use a tripod and I usually have to put down my fly rod or the oars to organize a shot. My style is basically editorial in nature and natural. I do not use professional models or fancy lighting. If I did, I couldn't call this a hobby out of control. I have a very deep collection of images. From my backyard pond, here in Oregon, to far flung destinations like Alaska, the Bahamas, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Tonga, England, Mexico, Belize, Sierra Leone, Christmas Island and many more. Every decent fly fishing photographer has these kinds of lists, also. But, I have a little more time on the water than most. For example, I have made over 50 trips to Alaska and over 30 trips each to the Bahamas and Belize. Let me know what you are looking for, I'll probably have it. Learn more about your ad choices. We wrapped up the conversation by discussing his pivotal role in Catch Magazine and finally, Brian shared some of his favorite fly fishing photography tips and tricks. Sit back, grab your beverage of choice, and enjoy an hour and change with the legend himself - Brian O'Keefe.

Their advocacy led to the passage of the Transit Safety and Investment Act in 2021, which requires the state of Maryland to provide minimum annual funding for maintenance of the system. CMTA's efforts demonstrate the power of organizing legislators and community groups to challenge the entrenched political prioritization of car infrastructure in transportation funding. “It was compelling when we were able to find data that said that our light rail breaks down the most in the country. That helped us win bipartisan support because legislators view themselves as stewards of taxpayer dollars and public assets and didn't like it one bit that we had let this asset fall into such disrepair that it was breaking down more than any similar system in the country.” - Brian O'MalleyFor more on Central Maryland Transportation Alliance, click here. Internal emails between Dr. Fauci and world health experts expose the frantic rush to respond to the growing threat of a global pandemic in early 2020 – and reveal new evidence to support the theory that COVID-19 originated from a lab leak in Wuhan, China. Why did the media and Big Tech work so hard to suppress the lab leak theory if the experts were actively debating it behind-the-scenes? Brian O'Shea (an intelligence operations specialist & private investigator) joins Dr. Li-meng Yan (a virologist who escaped from China) to dig in to the latest evidence, unredacted emails between Dr. Fauci in the pandemic's earliest days, and to explore the terrifying possibility that the virus was leaked intentionally. Brian O'Shea is an Intelligence Operations Specialist, Intelligence Analyst, Private Investigator, and Chief Operating Officer at Centurion Intelligence Partners. Firing Line with Margaret Hoover
Brian O'Hara, the first new police chief appointed in Minneapolis since George Floyd's murder, joins Margaret Hoover to discuss policing in America and the deep-seated issues impacting the relationships between communities and police across the country. O'Hara, who previously led reform efforts as a captain in the Newark Police Department, reflects on how his experience in New Jersey prepared him for his new role at the helm of another troubled department. With violent crime in Minneapolis starting to decline after a two-year surge, O'Hara addresses the underlying causes of gun violence, as well as his concerns about progressive policies like bail reform and defunding police departments. In the wake of the Tyre Nichols case in Memphis, O'Hara also comments on racial disparities in policing, the benefits and limitations of body-worn cameras, and whether ending qualified immunity would solve the problem of police misconduct. Walter Foundation, The Center for the Study of the International Economy Inc., Damon Button, The Pritzker Military Foundation on behalf of the Pritzker Military Museum and Library, The Marc Haas Foundation, and Stephens Inc.
