In this episode, Fergus catches up with Craig - triathlete, OMNIA Coach, and fellow Scot now based on the Gold Coast. One of them is training in 32-degree heat. The other is on a turbo in Spain. They cover Craig's rowing background and why he walked away from a potential GB squad spot at 17, the long road from perma-bulk to first Ironman, what it actually means to coach athletes who need pulling back rather than pushing forward, and why doing something for the first time only happens once - so you'd better respect it.Also: disc wheels, shaved legs, calf sleeves, and the aerodynamics of walking to the shops. No fluff. Just two coaches who've made most of the mistakes so you don't have to.Stay tuned for part two. Want to find out more about getting coached by Craig?Become an OMNIA Athlete

The story of coach Craig Kirkwood doesn't begin and end with teenage phenom Sam Ruthe. Yes, just this year the 16-year-old Ruthe ran 3:48.88 indoors, breaking the World U18 Indoor Mile record and the New Zealand senior record in one race. It was a generational performance. But this wasn't Coach Craig's first run-in with elite talent. He has coached Olympic medalists like Hayden Wilde (Olympic bronze medalist in Tokyo 2020; and silver medalist in Paris 2024 in the triathlon), New Zealand record holders like Sam Tanner (Two-time Olympian and New Zealand record holder in the 1500m), and he's done it while building athletes who balance elite performance with real life.Craig wasn't handed a blueprint. He built himself first: from self-coached teenager, studying Arthur Lydiard; to 2:13marathoner; to World Cross Country athlete; to three-time Kona Ironman competitor.Sam Ruthe's latest 3:48.88 mile wasn't an accident. Just like Hayden Wilde's Olympic medals weren't luck, and Sam Tanner's record-breaking 1500m wasn't random. They're products of a system built on belief, patience, and long-term development. Coach Craig Kirkwood has seen a lot and has lived every phase of endurance sports. And that lived experience shows up in how he develops athletes today. Tap into the Craig Kirkwood Special. Most men are taught to hate the part of them that struggles. What if that part isn't your enemy at all… but your protector?Buy The Book Altogether You: https://amzn.to/4rvtnexIn this groundbreaking conversation, Coach Craig sits down with trauma therapist and bestselling author Jenna Riemersma, whose book Altogether You bridges Internal Family Systems (IFS) with Christian faith in a way that is nothing short of revolutionary.Together, they expose why the traditional addiction model keeps men trapped in shame and powerlessness—and how IFS offers a radically different path to healing, integrity, and self-leadership.You'll hear: • Why identifying as an “addict” feels empowering at first—but eventually becomes a cage. • Why the part of you that acts out isn't sinful, broken, or demonic… it's protective. • How Christian theology and modern psychology actually reinforce each other when it comes to understanding your parts. • Why partners get stuck in reactive boundary cycles—and how to break them. • Why relationship, compassion, and self-leadership heal what shame and control never will.Craig and Jenna unpack the Core Self from two directions—psychology and Christianity—and reveal a way of operationalizing faith that most churches completely miss.If you or your spouse is struggling with pornography, unwanted sexual behavior, or betrayal trauma, this episode will fundamentally shift how you see the struggle, yourself, and each other. This is the conversation every Christian man—and every church—needs to hear.Resources and Links MentionedBuy The Book Altogether You: https://amzn.to/4rvtnexJenna's website https://movetoward.comAltogether You On Demand Workshop https://movetoward.comUse code AY15 for 15% offFree IFS guided meditations and resources Available at https://movetoward.comBook referenced in the episode Altogether You by Jenna Riemersma

Fresh from the misty mountains of Peru, Al and Hask are joined by Hask's former Conditioning Coach at Wasps, Craig White; a man whose influence has shaped the face of High-Performance Coaching in rugby. With troublesome tales of managing Trevor Leota at Wasps alongside Shaun Edwards, Craig shares the biggest lessons he learned working with Clive Woodward and Warren Gatland on the 2005 and 2009 Lions Tours.
