Was wird aus dem Glauben in einer Welt, in der jeder sein eigener Sinnstifter ist – und die alten religiösen Gewissheiten bröckeln? Manuel Schmid und Stephan Jütte fragen, ob das Christentum seine Zukunft eher im Ich oder im Wir finden wird – und was das für Kirche, Theologie und Gemeinschaft bedeutet. Wie immer beginnt Ausgeglaubt mit zwei persönlichen Momenten: Manuels «Stossgebet der Woche» gilt seiner eigenen Verplantheit – nach einer RefLab-Veranstaltung hetzt er wie ein Gejagter zum Zug, um pünktlich an ein Geburtstagsfest zu kommen, nur um dort festzustellen: Das Fest findet erst in mehreren Wochen statt. Stephan dagegen jubelt im «Hallelujah der Woche» über eine neue Leidenschaft: Tennis. Er hat erst vor kurzem angefangen zu spielen – und ist schon ziemlich beeindruckt von seinen eigenen Fortschritten. Von dort aus geht's ins eigentliche Thema: die Zukunft der Religion. Stephan und Manuel knüpfen an ihre letzten beiden Gespräche über Individualismus und Kollektivismus an und fragen, wie sich beides im Christentum verschränkt – und vielleicht auch gegenseitig korrigiert. Einerseits hat das Christentum in seiner Geschichte stark individualisierende Kräfte freigesetzt: Der reformatorische Gedanke, dass jeder Mensch unmittelbar vor Gott steht, hat das moderne Selbstbewusstsein, die Gewissensfreiheit und das Ideal persönlicher Verantwortung entscheidend geprägt. Andererseits stammen die biblischen Texte selbst aus ausgesprochen kollektivistischen Kulturen, in denen Familie, Clan und Sippe die Identität bestimmten. Jesus und Paulus stellen genau dieses Primat infrage – und schwören ihre Anhänger auf eine neue Form von Gemeinschaft ein: das Reich Gottes, in dem soziale, ethnische und geschlechtliche Grenzen keine Rolle mehr spielen («Weder Jude noch Grieche, weder Sklave noch Freier…»). Von hier aus spannt das Gespräch einen Bogen in die Gegenwart: Wie hat das Christentum über Jahrhunderte hinweg die westliche Gesellschaft geprägt – und warum verliert es heute seine Selbstverständlichkeit? Was bedeutet die oft zitierte «metaphysische Obdachlosigkeit» des modernen Menschen, der zwischen Selbstverwirklichung und Sinnsuche pendelt? Und wovon darf oder soll man als protestantischer Christ heute noch träumen? Eine Rückkehr zur alten Grösse? Wohl kaum – und sicher nicht auf dem autoritären Weg, auf dem christliche Nationalisten in den USA derzeit Macht zurückerobern wollen. Aber was wäre die Alternative? Einfach «kleinere Brötchen backen»? Und wenn ja – wie könnten die aussehen? Manuel und Stephan diskutieren, ob die basisdemokratische Struktur der reformierten Kirche dabei hilft, Machtmissbrauch zu verhindern – oder ob sie zugleich mutige Initiativen und visionäre Aufbrüche bremst. Ein intensives Gespräch über Glauben zwischen Autonomie und Bindung, und über Kirchenstrukturen zwischen Tradition und Aufbruch.

Jonathan Schanzer (Foundation for Defense of Democracies) analyzes the reports of violence and gunplay occurring in Gaza, even during the ceasefire. Clan, family, and tribe structures have always been significant features in the governance of Palestinian territories, including Gaza and the West Bank. As Hamas weakens, these tribes are attempting to exert their authority and project power, leading to clashes on the streets. This is simply a grab for power, opposed by Hamas, which attempts to maintain control through violence and brutality. This process could result in different entities and actors controlling various pockets of the Gaza Strip, leading to a situation of fragmented territories or "bantustans." Retry

Unternehmenskultur schlägt Skill: Warum Werte im Hiring wichtiger sind als Lebensläufe – mit Ailyn Arnold & Björn Andres Im Recruiting sprechen viele zuerst über Hard Facts wie Umsatz, Provisionsmodell und große Logos. Dennoch entscheidet am Ende die Unternehmenskultur – denn sie prägt Zusammenarbeit, Führung und Wachstum. Wenn die Kultur passt, performst du schneller und bleibst länger; wenn nicht, dann helfen auch Top-Lebensläufe wenig. Deshalb sollten wir Kultur früh sichtbar machen und im Prozess messbar überprüfen. Mit meinen Gästen Ailyn Arnold und Björn Andres wird deutlich: Kultur ist das, was täglich gelebt wird – nicht das, was auf Postern steht. Gerade im Sales zeigt sich, dass Werte Gesundheit, Bindung und Performance beeinflussen. Zugleich sorgt ein klarer Wertekompass dafür, dass Teams auch unter Druck gut funktionieren. Woran erkennst du gute Unternehmenskultur? Zunächst an echten Begegnungen, nicht an Slogans. Führe deshalb Gespräche mit deiner zukünftigen Führungskraft, mit Kolleg:innen und – vor allem – mit Ehemaligen. Frage dann: „Warum arbeiten (oder arbeiteten) Sie hier?“ Kommt die Antwort spontan und konsistent, spricht das für Substanz. Plane außerdem Schnuppertage ein; ein einzelnes Interview liefert nämlich selten genug Evidenz. Werte > Lebenslauf – und zwar nicht nur im Startup. Zwar lassen sich Skills aufbauen, doch Wertematch entsteht oder entsteht eben nicht. Deshalb setzen immer mehr Unternehmen auf Begegnungen in Stufen: zuerst der Hiring Manager, danach das Team und anschließend ein kurzes, praxisnahes Case. Dadurch prüfst du, ob Mindset, Mission und Unternehmenskultur wirklich zusammenpassen. Folglich sinkt die Fluktuation, während Ramp-up-Zeiten und Teamenergie steigen. Welche Kultur passt zu dir? Unternehmen bewegen sich häufig zwischen Clan-, Adhocracy-, Markt- und Hierarchie-Kultur. Während Gründerphasen oft Freiheit und Tempo betonen, benötigen Spätphasen dagegen Standards und Klarheit. Entscheidend ist daher, ob die gelebten Werte deinen Antreibern entsprechen. Hör zudem auf dein Bauchgefühl; es warnt dich früh, wenn Show und Wirklichkeit auseinanderfallen. Für Unternehmen: Kultur fit machen Stellt euer Hiring schrittweise auf 360° um. Kombiniert einerseits einen kompakten Skill-Check (Probleme erfassen, Lösungen verständlich darstellen), andererseits echte Unternehmenskultur-Checks: Teamlunch, Job-Shadowing und Fragen an Ehemalige. Dokumentiert außerdem harte Folgewerte wie Verweildauer, Fehltage und Ramp-up-Zeit. Dadurch erkennt ihr, ob eure Kulturarbeit wirkt – und wo ihr nachjustieren müsst. Transparenz statt Hochglanz lohnt sich, weil authentische Stimmen Vertrauen schaffen. Lasst Mitarbeitende deshalb auf LinkedIn frei sprechen, anstatt Posts zu diktieren. So wird Unternehmenskultur sichtbar, wodurch das Matching leichter fällt. Wer hingegen Social-Posts verbietet, setzt – gewollt oder ungewollt – ein klares Kultur-Signal. Blick nach vorn: KI kann bereits heute öffentliche Inhalte clustern, Gespräche auswerten und daraus Kulturmerkmale ableiten. In Verbindung mit einem strukturierten Werte-Check entsteht Schritt für Schritt echtes Culture-Matching – für Kandidat:innen und Unternehmen. Fazit: Stelle die Unternehmenskultur konsequent an den Anfang. Passt der Werte-Fit, dann beschleunigen sich Lernkurven, Kollaboration und Umsatz. Passt er nicht, dann kosten dich die besten Lebensläufe Zeit, Nerven und Geld. Kultur schlägt Skill – immer und überall.

This is the second episode in a mini series on the history of the Clan Line, one of Britain's most distinctive and influential shipping companies. In this episode Dr Sam Willis travels the length and breadth of the UK to speak with sailors who served on Clan Line ships, to hear and preserve their memories of this most crucial time in global maritime history. Founded in Glasgow in 1877 by Charles Cayzer, the line quickly grew into a vast fleet that connected Scotland with Africa, India, and beyond. What made it particularly interesting was its combination of commercial power and cultural identity: every ship bore a “Clan” name, giving the company a strong Scottish character that set it apart in the crowded world of British shipping.The Clan Line was important because it played a crucial role in Britain's imperial trade. Its ships carried goods such as jute, tea, and cotton, linking colonial economies to British markets. During both World Wars, the company's vessels were vital to the Allied cause, transporting troops, supplies, and munitions—often at great risk from enemy submarines. Many were lost, but the service of its crews contributed directly to victory.Beyond trade and war, the line symbolised the globalisation of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It represented Scotland's industrial and maritime strength, while also reflecting the dangers and opportunities of long-distance shipping.
