You give me the time and the place and I'll tell you why Davis missed this movie. He believes that he was probably was doing some family thing, and he hasn't since seen Drive because a lot of his free time was used to catch watching Avengers. They all agree that he will enjoy the movie (Davis included), and he actually LOVED the movie. They detail the story arc and agree that the violence is over the top but that overall it's a move to be seen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Who are the real fish out of water? Both Brian and Odom are on the hook as they both missed Aquaman. They all agree that the pre-viewing synopsis that Brian thinks the movie is about, an underwater-Thor-esque plot sounds like a much better film then the actual movie. They go deep with the play-by-play. This episode will have you reeling for sure. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Just, let it go already, Brian didn't see Frozen. It really wasn't on his radar when it came out in 2015 and then he held on to a sense of pride with not haven seen it. They all think that he won't hate it and that he will be softer on it they all were. He agrees that he didn't hate it but that it wasn't as bad as he was led to believe it was going to be. After deconstructing the movie it becomes clear that many components of the movie are done very well, but it really only gets good at the very end. Learn more about your ad choices. Nein, Nein, Nein, Nein, Nein, say it ain't so, Odom is in the hot seat! He admits that he has seen some of Tarantino's classics; Kill Bill, and Pulp Fiction but probably missed Inglorious Basterds because it was not screened as a group and he was busy when it came out with college studies. Odom summarizes the movie pretty accurately before seeing it and the guys split on what they predict Odom will think, Brian says he's going to love it, Schroeder thinks he won't like it and Davis admits that he won't love it but will enjoy parts of it. Odom loved the movie. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Schroeder is in the hot seat. He missed Speed because he was 7 and was watching kid movies. They all agree that they only liked it for what it was back in the '90s because they have a history with the movie. Not being a huge Keanu Reeves fan Schroeder was hard-pressed to enjoy it. He and Odom shared that they mostly liked seeing the practical stunts that they tried to get away with jumping a bus 50 feet was pretty funny. Learn more about your ad choices. I want to share this with you, Davis, because you missed the PREMIERE of this feel-good, food porn movie with the director, Jon Favreau. Davis reminisces about the bachelor party that kept him away from the premiere and quickly realizes that watching the movie along with the food truck availability at the premiere would have been the best cure for his post-bachelor party hangover. This week, Schroeder has a lame excuse for missing his friend, Steve Greene's, dramedy premiere of Funny Story. Because they all think that Schroeder will say he likes it only because he is friends with Steve, they bring some 'truth serum' into the studio for his review. This leads to a very colorful conversation about the movie and the awkwardness of Steve watching his wife kiss another actor on screen, days after getting married. You can also catch Steve and his wife Nikki Limo on Shit They Don't Tell You. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Shire, Joven-shire breaks a life long tradition of never having seen ANY Bond movies. Joven admits while growing up he really was only brought to sci-fi movies with his Dad and RomComs with his mom. The guys try to convince him that Bond movies are a type of fantasy movie and they choose Goldeneye to view as it was the first Bond movie they all saw. Joven reports back that he loved the fact that Famke Janssen (X-Men's Jean Grey) played a sexed crazed killer and confesses that he would have watched this long ago had he known about the Jean Grey character. He thinks it’s weird to watch a very dated movie, but thought that perhaps in 1995 it was probably an amazing action movie. Not really understanding the coldness portrayed by 007, they all agree that he should see Casino Royale. He also admits that the one-liners and nostalgia of the ‘80s-’90s vibe were cool and that there was some comedy set around when 007 was checking out the latest gadgets. The guys dive deep into all the classic bond-isms that are included in Goldeneye; from motorcycle chase scenes to the post-cold war Russian villains, and they invite Joven back for another Bond viewing in the future. This week, Heeeere's Lasercorn! Lasercorn joins the gang to shamefully admit that he has never seen the Stanley Kubrick classic, "The Shining," sort of based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. After he's seen it, Lasercorn now gets all the pop culture references he's missed out on all these years. Plus, Lasercorn and the rest dive deep into the film and its many iconic moments, not to mention how Stanley Kubrick basically tortured Shelley Duvall. Plus, Davis perfects his Jack Nicholson impression throughout. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We all know the first rule of Fight Club as laid out in the 1999 film based off of the book of the same name, but what about the others? The guys take turns unleashing their anger out at Schroder for missing another classic film for the sole reason of knowing the twist ahead of time. When Schroeder returns, they discuss how all the college bros had a Brad Pitt poster on their walls and seemed to have taken the exact opposite lessons and themes from the David Fincher movie than they should've. Plus, Davis recounts his brief time in an actual fight club! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Cue "Eye of the Tiger," this week the guys gut punch Schroeder for having missed the iconic 1976 sports film "Rocky," written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. After a few rounds of teasing Schroeder, everyone discusses the movie and its impact on future films in the sports genre. They even take a few shots below the belt due to some plot holes, but overall it's a pretty clean fight. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Marvel? Check. Great actors and directors? Check. Odom missed it? Check! How is that possible? It’s probably because everyone else absolutely hated it! Listen as the guys berate Odom for not seeing the film then turn their hate towards the first Ant-Man film itself. Why? Dumb science, too many directors entering and leaving the project, plot holes and tons of other reasons. If you listen closely, you’ll hear the guys admit to a few good moments, but definitely none involving lambs. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
They did not watch The Room, they did not! On this week's episode, a double-misser as Davis and Schroeder managed to escape seeing Tommy Wisseau's classic film, "The Room." The guys "tear apart" the film and discover that it's basically a soft-core porn film with less sex and aren't impressed with Wisseau's acting abilities. Davis and Schroeder may not have liked it, but they have a lot to say about it! Enjoy and oh, hi, Mark. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
