Grab your pickaxe and prepare for pure, unadulterated chaos! On this explosive episode of The Commentary Booth, hosts Jamie Apps and Corrina Mabey are reloading the 2022 Finnish action spectacle, Sisu, ahead of its highly anticipated sequel, Sisu: Road to Revenge. They dive deep into why this Jalmari Helander film is a breath of fresh air in the World War II genre, ditching the typical American narrative for a lone, near-mute Finnish commando who transforms into an unstoppable force of nature.Highlights Breakdown:A Unique WWII Powerhouse: Discover why Sisu stands out by focusing on a Finnish one-man army instead of American troops, calling it "Kill Bill meets John Wick meets Inglourious Basterds."The Man of Few Words: How the lead character barely speaks, yet steals every scene with pure presence, scars and an almost mythic reputation.Action with a Capital "A": A rave review of the film's insane, creative, and brutally satisfying kill sequences, from minefield frenzies to underwater breath-stealing, and the fantastic cinematography that makes it all pop.The imprisoned women and their arc: A subplot that's easy to forget but impossible to ignore once you revisit it, especially the pitch-perfect payoff in the final act.The Heart of the Chaos: A discussion on the film's effective chapter-based structure and the surprisingly touching emotional core of a man who just wants to be left alone.Sequel Hype Train: First looks, predictions, and backstory revelations for Sisu: Road to Revenge, and why Jamie will be rushing to the cinema for this one.Listen as Jamie and Corrina unpack everything from the wild kill sequences and the tense chapter structure to the unexpectedly moving character beats, the role of the imprisoned women, and how the sequel might fill in the blanks of Korpi's past. If you're into Kill Bill, John Wick, Tarantino or just enjoy watching one man obliterate Nazis with whatever is lying around, this episode is for you. This week's episode is brought to you byAustralian Wrestling CardsCheck out more great content from Pario Magazine on our website.-------------------------------------------------------------SUPPORT PARIO MAGAZINE & THE COMMENTARY BOOTH- PATREON- BUY MERCH- AMAZON PRIME VIDEO- TUBEBUDDY- Subscribe to AEW Plus using my code (q0yydoz) to earn $10 in FITE credit- Shop Online With Honey- Shop Online With SatechiMY EQUIPMENT- Elgato Facecam- Rode PodMic- Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP- Streamlabs Talk StudioFOLLOW JAMIE ON SOCIAL MEDIA- Twitter- Facebook- Instagram- TikTokFOLLOW PARIO MAGAZINE ON SOCIAL MEDIA- Twitter- Facebook- Instagram
01:10:09 Kill Bill the Whole Bloody Affair trailer01:12:47 Star Trek nieuwe richting? 01:12:30Toy Story 5 Teaser01:13:32 Stranger Things cast zit in moeilijke periode01:15:16 Godzilla Minus One Sequelkomt er ook aan01:15:45 Nick Cage en John Woo weer samen sinds Face/OFF01:16:15 Running Man Final 01:17:13 Top 10 Koreaanse films allertijden

We're looking forward to the rest of the year on this week's Down to Watch! Dan and Raul are looking at the winter weather watchlist and picking out great gifts for listeners good and bad alike. Nov has plenty to pick from including a surreal sci-fi story from Apple called Pluribus, an American history lesson with great actors in Death by Lightning and Danes doing dangerous secret stuff again in The Beast in Me. There's a true life tales as well with Alex vs A-Rod, a remake worth a look with The Running Man, and while December is a little empty we're gonna see the return of Fallout, Stranger Things and the whole of Kill Bill in theaters. Santa's coming down early and he's got some tv for ya!

THE GREATEST SEQUELS NEVER MADE! Dive into the ultimate "what if" rabbit hole with Reel Rejects' Greg Alba & Coy Jandreau as they unpack cancelled sequels and unmade movies that could've rewritten Hollywood history! From Kylo Ren's scrapped Star Wars solo film and David Fincher's dark Star Wars vision to epic follow-ups like Alita: Battle Angel 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield's Sinister Six showdown, and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 featuring Vulture and Anne Hathaway's Black Cat— these abandoned movie sequels had killer plots, A-list talent, and game-changing concepts that got shelved for good (or bad) reasons. In this unmade movies deep dive, we break down Darren Aronofsky's gritty Batman: Year One, Neill Blomkamp's District 10, Dredd 2 with Judge Death, Edge of Tomorrow 2: Live Die Repeat and Repeat, the terrifying E.T. 2: Nocturnal Fears, Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, The Godfather Part IV with Leo DiCaprio as young Sonny, Gremlins 3 in Vegas, Joel Schumacher's Batman Unchained, the wild Jurassic Park 4 dino-human hybrids, Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 3, Man of Steel 2 with Brainiac and Supergirl, the original Matrix 4 pitch, The Nice Guys 2, Roger Rabbit 2: Who Discovered Roger Rabbit, Tim Burton's Batman 3, Tim Miller's Deadpool 2, David Fincher's World War Z 2, and Zack Snyder's Justice League sequels complete with Darkseid, Knightmare timelines, and a Bruce Kent epilogue! [School of Movies 2025] An absolutely blistering black revenge fantasy by a white guy at the top of his game. Aside from the name, some repurposed music and the presence of carnage, this has nothing to do with the 1966 Sergio Corbucci spaghetti western, Django. What it does present us with is a deep immersion in the ugliness and inhumanity of slavery in the pre-Civil-War American South from the perspective of a freed black man and an increasingly disturbed German gentleman as they hunt bounties together and ultimately quest to rescue Django's beloved Brunhilda from the hellfire of the Candyland plantation, presided over by the hideous Calvin Candy. The stage is set for some of the most tense standoffs and explosively violent culminations in cinema history. This film is a masterpiece, and has proved wildly influential on my own work. This episode kicks off a Tarantino Season that will be running throughout the next year. We will be covering the films intermittently and out of chronological release order (and we will be recording a brand new pair of episodes on Kill Bill). Next Week: Sinners!
Quentin Tarantino has been releasing movies since we were teenagers, so he holds a special place for us. This is especially true of the Kill Bill movies since we were a little older, plus they became a part of mainstream culture. Watching The Whole Bloody Affair is a tall order, however. The news about Scary Movie 6 has us much more excited. After watching the trailer for Ash, it is hard not to wonder if they used all the good shots for it. After seeing the actual movie, you realized that they could have picked any part of the film and it would have looked great. It also features some top notch performances and an engaging mystery. So why do so many people hate it? It probably has to do with the climax, which ruins all the good will Ash had built up. The over the top nature is subjective and some people will enjoy it. But its decision to completely rip off Alien is hard to ignore.Good Boy does not hide the fact that it is a gimmick. It is a haunted house story in which its main character is a dog. But not only is Indy the main character, he is pretty much the only one. The story and camera are completely different focused on him.Does it move past this and become something that audiences can become attached to? Well, if you have ever had a pet, you will love Good Boy. And if you have not had one, it will make you want to get one. Oh yeah. It is also scary, has great storytelling, and features one of the most emotionally impactful movies we have seen all year. Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. Ray J (yes you read that right) is in the news. It's unclear if he's spewing nonsense or if the Kardashians really do have something to hide. Quentin Tarantino fans have new Kill Bill content to enjoy. The government has shut down… again. Here's what it means for San Francisco's Fleet Week. Plus, targeted ads just got louder. Charlotte's Web will be retold in an upcoming HBO limited series. Jane Goodall, groundbreaking chimpanzee researcher and environmentalist, has passed away at 91 years old. Sarah's got a story about Alaska's Fat Bear Week. Who's your favorite famous bear? The ‘Big Brother' finale hit a new record in ratings! Sarah and Bob are already excited for next season. Luckily, ‘Survivor' has started, and we are in it! We wish we could forget about these bogus “wellness” hacks that celebrities told us about. Will Keith Urban profit off of his divorce from Nicole Kidman thanks to a bizarre prenup clause? Your sports morsel of the week: Purdy played like crap last week due to his hurt toe, so Mac Attack is subbing in as QB tonight for the 49ers. Plus, the Giants are getting a new manager - stay tuned. A new dating app introduces a feature to protect women from unsolicited pictures. Does Matty look like Chip Gaines? Plus: How Old Is That Guy (Bob has no idea).

In today's Daily Fix:Following yesterday's bombshell news from Microsoft that Xbox Game Pass is getting a features and price overhaul, retailer GameStop has said via X that they will continue to sell one-month subscriptions to Game Pass Ultimate for the pre-hike price of $19.99. Other retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart continue to list subscriptions for that price, but have not yet publicly commented if they will follow Microsoft's MSRP for the service. In other news, developer Starbreeze has officially canceled its Dungeons & Dragons game, codenamed "Project Baxter," laid off some of its developers, and recommitted to its troubled Payday 3 and the "heist genre." And finally, Quentin Tarantino's martial arts western epic, Kill Bill, is returning to theaters as one four-hour film titled "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair." Originally released in two volumes six months apart, the two halves have been slightly re-edited as one film as originally envisioned by Tarantino.
Mark and Aaron Neuwirth (@AaronsPS4 on X) draft their favorite scenes from 2003 action movies. In this episode, you'll hear them talk about the neat action scenes in Matrix Reloaded, Oldboy, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Bad Boys 2, Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior, Kill Bill, and many more cool action movies.

Tara Erickson & Aaron Alexander return to Quentin Tarantino's bloody saga with Kill Bill Vol. 2 (2004), the stylish martial arts action follow-up to Vol. 1. Written & directed by Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained), the film brings Uma Thurman back as The Bride / Beatrix Kiddo, on the final stretch of her roaring rampage of revenge against the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and, ultimately, Bill himself. Kill Bill Vol. 2 shifts from the non-stop action of the first volume to a more character-driven, dialogue-heavy story that still delivers unforgettable set-pieces — from Beatrix's brutal desert showdown with Budd, to her intense duel with Elle Driver in the cramped trailer (featuring Pai Mei's Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique payoff), and the climactic, emotional confrontation with Bill. Famous moments like The Bride being buried alive and clawing her way out of the grave have cemented the film as one of Tarantino's most unforgettable works. Send us a textIn this liminal, nonlinear ride, Justine and Scarlett dive into the wild convergence of solar eclipse, fall equinox, Navarātri, and even viral rapture predictions. With their signature mix of myth, astrology, and cultural side-eye, they explore what it means to live at the thresholds — between inhale and exhale, day and night, masculine and feminine, the ultimate and the relative. The conversation winds through:The rapture hype of Sept 23, 2025 (and why thresholds matter more than doomsday dates).A verse from the Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra: “the threshold is already the entrance” — what it means to be “already in” once you stand in the crack between worlds.Durga as guardian of the threshold, riding her tiger between bliss-ball nonduality and the hard fact of buses that will still run you over.A Navarātri walk-through: nine nights of goddess forms mapped to planets and polyvagal states, from Moon-rooted safety to Rahu's shadow and Ketu's transcendence. The Triple Goddess cycle through the guṇas: Durga burns through tamas, Lakṣmī channels rajas, Sarasvatī refines into sattva.Pop culture bridges: Deltron 3030 and Blondie's Rapture on the playlist, white-on-white sneaker cult aesthetics as accidental fashion pick, movie nods from Before Sunrise/After Sunset to Kill Bill.Through humor, myth, and a lot of “we are literally in-between right now,” this episode becomes a meditation on liminality itself: the crack where transformation happens.Support the show

From growing up on a healthy diet of Fangoria magazines and going to the movies as often as possible… to becoming consumed with the dream of making movies after seeing NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD on TV and then enamored with make-up FX after seeing DAWN OF THE DEAD in the theater… to a lifetime of FX work that lead him all the way to China where he worked with the great Quentin Tarantino on the KILL BILL movies… to winning Emmy Awards for his work on AMERICAN HORROR STORY… to almost walking away from working on SUICIDE SQUAD (2016) two different times before winning an Academy Award for his work on the film… to his amazing and surreal experience at the Oscars… to the pressure that came with taking the FX reigns on the beloved HALLOWEEN franchise and its highly opinionated fan base… to what it meant to see his Michael Myers mask on a banner for HALLOWEEN (2018) hanging from a sound stage at Universal Studios… to his thoughts on the current state of the industry and entertainment in general, Chris is a true giant at his craft and this candid conversation is one that every cinephile is sure to enjoy. Today I sit with Octavia Etheridge giving us her debut Sci-Fi Thriller The Matriarch-Liberty's Freedom from Wise Acre Comics. Liberty is an Ex-Marine imprisoned for killing the man who murdered her sister, or so she thought. Octavia described the books as having elements of Kill Bill, The Matrix, Handmaids Tale, and Fast and the Furious. The world Liberty lives in separation between men and women, between misogyny, crime, and an imbalance of power there lies no peace. Men have chosen to retrieve power through human trafficking and creating a new breed of men through abduction. Liberty and a special ops team reluctantly meet at the wrong place, but at the right time as her recruitment to the Code- a special government task force may be her only way to stay out of prison and make a change in this world.Written by Octavia Etheridge and Philip OdieteArt by Victor DrujininColors by King BolaLetters by LetterSquidDistributed by Wise Acre Comics Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-faqs-project-hosted-by-james-grandmaster-faqs-boyce/donations
