Did you see the "Trump Train" coming? Michael didn't — and neither did Barack Obama's inner circle. Drawing from newly released oral history interviews on the Obama presidency, Michael explores how top advisers like David Axelrod, Jen Psaki, and Jon Favreau underestimated Donald Trump's political rise. From the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner roast to the escalator announcement in 2015, this episode revisits the moments many dismissed — and asks why so many got it wrong. Plus, SiriusXM's Steve Scully joins the conversation with a behind-the-scenes account of that infamous Correspondents' Dinner — including what was happening off-camera as Trump reacted in real time. Could it all....happen again? Listen in, then rate, review, and share this podcast! Original air date 26 February 2026. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In Episode 150, hosts Alyce and Laura celebrate* the 7th Avernersary of Force Toast (and The Mandalorian) but mostly Force Toast. Reminiscing on 7 years of watching and reading Star Wars, doing trivs and learning mad skills, like how to do Star Wars Celebration, how to podcast and how to not drink too much when podcasting. Important life lessons! What do Sam Elliott, sh-tty beer and football have in common? Star Wars at the Super Bowl! Mystifying, or just a small (expensive) part of a grander marketing plan? (article referenced) Speaking of Mando - we call him Mandu now - a new MandUlorian & Grogu trailer is here! Let's discuss! The article that sparked a million click bait parasites did not actually say what you think it said. Calm down. We did the math. Jon Favreau isn't going anywhere. Take that, click bait. Remember Rogue Squadron? The question of whether it will ever come to fruition remains… a question. (via Parade) RIP Admiral Piett actor Kenneth Colley. Sorry DailyMail and the internet made it weird. Recap on Tap gets dreamy and maddening in Part 7 of Ahsoka: Dreams and Madness! Hera strikes back, Baylan is Batman now, Ahsoka is scary, Morgan does not Yes And any of this, and Every. Single. Reunion on this show is underwhelming. Thanks for being one of our 80k+ downloads! Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesPrime Video unveiled the first trailer for Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage in his first leading TV role as Ben Reilly—a name change from the Peter Parker version he voiced in Into the Spider-Verse—a down-on-his-luck 1930s New York private investigator forced to reckon with his past as the city's only superhero. The trailer also teased multiple villains and concluded with the tagline With No Power Comes No Responsibility. The eight-episode series is set to launch May 27 as a full binge release with each episode available in both black-and-white and color versions.Lucasfilm dropped the first full trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu Tuesday morning, setting up Star Wars' return to theaters after seven years with Din Djarin and Grogu enlisted by the New Republic to combat scattered Imperial warlords. The May 22 release directed by Jon Favreau and co-written with newly promoted Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni features Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver as former Rebel pilot Colonel Ward, and Jeremy Allen White voicing Rotta the Hutt, with footage showcasing Coruscant, Hoth, gladiator fights, and action sequences far bigger than the Disney+ series. Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights capitalized on Valentine's Day weekend with $83M globally ($37.5M domestic, $45.5M international), marking Warner Bros' ninth consecutive number one opening. Sony's GOAT overperformed with $35.1M domestic; the best opening for an original animated film since Pixar's Element, while Amazon MGM's Crime 101 stumbled with just $16.3M domestic against its $90M budget. The romantic drama skewed heavily female with 76% of audiences and represents record openings for both Fennell and Jacob Elordi, though the holiday boost may be short-lived as GOAT already beat it on both Sunday and Monday.Jason Momoa will star in Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions' film adaptation of Helldivers, directed by Justin Lin, set to hit theaters on November 10, 2027. The film is based on the popular video game franchise in which an elite unit of soldiers called Helldivers battle alien creatures threatening the fictional planet of Super Earth, with Helldivers 2 having sold more than 12 million units in its first four months after its 2024 launch.Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and Behaviour Interactive have tapped David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Alexandre Aja to write the feature film adaptation of the horror video game Dead by Daylight. Aja will not direct the film as he is committed to directing Under Paris 2 for Netflix, so the companies are beginning the search for a director, with James Wan, Jason Blum, and Stephen Mulrooney serving as producers.James Van Der Beek, the actor best known for playing Dawson Leery on the hit teen drama Dawson's Creek, died on February 11, 2026, at age 48 after battling Stage 3 colorectal cancer. Skywalking Through Neverland: A Star Wars / Disney Fan Podcast
By now you've probably seen the Mandalorian and Grogu Super Bowl "Big Game" commercial, and you have an opinion. In this episode, we break down our reactions, explore what may have led Lucasfilm and Disney to make such a bold creative choice, read listener comments, and deliver a detailed deep-dive analysis. In the weeks leading up to Super Bowl 60, fans expected a traditional trailer packed with story clues. Instead, we got something completely unexpected: a cinematic parody inspired by the legendary Budweiser commercials. The 36-second spot, narrated by the iconic Sam Elliott and directed by Jon Favreau, opens on a sleigh racing across a snowy tundra. At first glance, it looks like a team of horses—but the camera reveals they're actually tauntauns. Din Djarin passes the reins to Grogu as they glide forward together, guided by the galloping creatures. The commercial closes with Grogu gently reaching toward a tauntaun's nose while the narrator reminds audiences that The Mandalorian and Grogu is coming "only to theaters." Unsurprisingly, the fan response has been sharply divided, and we also discuss the overwhelming reactions shared across our social media. 'a day mid January THERE was a disturbance felt in the FORCE' Kathleen Kennedy's control of Lucasfilm and Star Wars has come to an end. It was a COLD day in mid January at FARHQ, in the Awakens Base LOL LOL LOL January 15 'in the year of our STAR WARS' return 2026, when Lucasfilm announced that after 14 years of leading the studio, President Kathleen Kennedy was stepping down Dave Filoni, who worked closely with creator George Lucas to build the Lucasfilm animation department on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and helped launch Star Wars live-action series alongside Jon Favreau on The Mandalorian, will take on creative leadership of the company as President and Chief Creative Officer and Lynwen Brennan will serve as Co-President. Their close collaboration and more than 30 years of combined senior executive experience will carry Lucasfilm into its next chapter of storytelling, with a strong foundation of creative vision and operational leadership guiding the studio forward. On the latest episode of Fandom Awakens Radio 'Now TWO there are ...... Filoni v Brennan a New Character Begins Days of Future Star Wars - Your hosts David Senden and Kyle Wagner discuss highlights taken from Kathy's exit interview, we discuss the 2 Co-presidents thing (very interesting to GO all in on a James Gunn / Peter Safran DC Studios esc approach) Upcoming Star Wars movie projects, heavily focused on a theatrical return in 2026-2027, include The Mandalorian & Grogu (May 22, 2026), Shawn Levy's Starfighter (May 28, 2027), and Dave Filoni's New Republic-era film. Other active projects include a Rey-centric New Jedi Order film and a new trilogy from Simon Kinberg. Here is a breakdown of the announced Star Wars film projects: Definite & In-Development Films Untitled Rey Skywalker Movie: Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, focusing on rebuilding the Jedi Order. Simon Kinberg Trilogy: A new trilogy currently in development. Projects in Limbo or Unknown Status Rogue Squadron: Patty Jenkins' project, previously shelved but reportedly back in consideration. James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi: A "biblical epic" exploring the origin of the Force. Taika Waititi's Star Wars Movie: Announced, but with no firm production timeline. Lando: Originally a series, now being developed as a movie with Donald Glover. Ok I am gonna say (and WE all know far too well what a LOT of SW fans today LACK, patience .............. funny when you consider everything they learned they learned from Kenobi and Yoda LOL but anyway), I'd say the odds of a LOT of these projects seeing the light of day just SHOT up, as long as Disney's new CEO (unlike Bob the Blunder halfwit), doesn't try anything STUPID. That Hunt for Ben Solo situation told us a LOT a LOT, of what has really been a problem in Star Wars ....................... and it was NOT the internet's favorite Boogywoman, cause here's some reality for you, had she NOT taken the job at the time GL asked her *sigh* I think Star Wars would have truly come to an END HAHAHAHA to paraphase how YODA might it "Now TWO there are ...... Filoni v Brennan a New Character Begins Days of Future Star Wars" a BRAND NEW episode of Fandom Awakens Radio starts RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week, Chris and Rob engorge themselves with rage as they unpack 2003's Hulk. That's right, long before the MCU, we had to watch this pile of MC-Poo. Iron Man was only a glimmer in Jon Favreau's eye, and he hadn't yet mustered the courage to bust a nut on Kathleen Kennedy's impatiently throbbing bosom, Edward Norton was working on The Italian Job or something, and the world hadn't totally gone to shit yet. But after watching this punisher, we can't say that things were better back then either; we're just looking at the past through rose colored glasses as we march endlessly forward into oblivion. Anyhow… here we go… Eric Bana's Bruce Banner bludgeons and bumbles bureaucrats and bomb brigadiers by bellowing through battles, beating off to Betty, and blasting bombs with his bare hands! Tucker Carlson has made significant waves in recent days with his commentary on multiple high-profile incidents and geopolitical developments. Most notably, Carlson broke from typical conservative messaging when he criticized fellow right-wing figures for their response to an ICE agent shooting a woman named Renee Good in Minneapolis. According to The Independent, Carlson's newsletter condemned the politicization of Good's death, stating that she was a 37-year-old American citizen and mother of a kindergarten-aged child whose death should be viewed as a tragedy regardless of her political views. He emphasized that her death deserved compassion rather than being weaponized for partisan gain, writing that her death was tragic irrespective of who pulled the trigger or her ideological beliefs. This stance contrasted sharply with responses from other prominent conservatives. While some figures like Benny Johnson attacked Good as a "brain-dead" activist, and Vice President JD Vance suggested her actions constituted domestic terrorism, Carlson's approach drew praise from unexpected quarters, including former Obama administration official Jon Favreau, who noted that Carlson's reaction was more humane than Vance's position. On the geopolitical front, Carlson has been actively warning about potential military escalation. According to his recent video content from early January, he discussed the Trump administration's decision to increase the Pentagon budget from one trillion to one point five trillion dollars, characterizing this as a wartime budget rather than a peacekeeping measure. He expressed concern about global conflict scenarios and emphasized the need for strategic alignment with Russia against the China-Russia alliance. Carlson also addressed recent developments surrounding Greenland, suggesting that American acquisition of the territory would fundamentally alter NATO's structure and purpose.Additionally, Carlson has been commenting on domestic policy matters, praising the Trump administration's efforts to clean up American cities through measures like deploying the National Guard to Washington DC. He has also drawn comparisons to controversial law enforcement incidents, referencing the death of Ashley Babbitt during the Capitol building incident as an example of alleged inconsistencies in how the government handles shooting cases.Throughout these developments, Carlson continues operating his independent subscription-based media platform rather than a traditional television role. His post-Fox News business model relies on direct-to-audience revenue through subscriptions, advertising, and partnerships, allowing him to maintain substantial financial resources while maintaining editorial independence from traditional broadcast networks.Thank you for tuning in to the Tucker Carlson News Tracker podcast. Tucker Carlson has been back at the center of US politics and media discourse over the last few days, with several developments drawing intense attention and debate among listeners, journalists, and political figures.According to the Times of India, Carlson made a surprise appearance at the White House as Donald Trump courted major oil executives to invest in Venezuela's energy sector. He was seen applauding from the East Room wall as Trump promised “total safety, total security” to Chevron, ExxonMobil and others in exchange for up to $100 billion in investment. On his own podcast, Carlson defended Trump's blunt emphasis on seizing Venezuela's oil, calling the president's open admission of economic self‑interest “thrilling” and praising the “honesty” of saying the oil in the Western Hemisphere should go to the United States. Commentators also noted how noticeably thinner he looked, sparking fresh speculation online about his health and lifestyle changes. That Venezuela stance clashed awkwardly with another viral clip highlighted by Out in Perth, in which Carlson floated – then quickly deleted – a theory that US regime change in Venezuela was tied to a so‑called “global homo” project to advance gay marriage. The video, where he suggested Maduro's ouster might be about punishing a leader who doesn't allow same‑sex marriage, prompted condemnation from LGBTQ advocates and critics who linked his language to long‑running far‑right conspiracy rhetoric. At the same time, Carlson has been challenging parts of the right on a different front. The Independent reports that in a recent newsletter and segments on his show, he blasted conservatives for using the ICE shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis to score political points instead of seeing it “through a human lens.” He described her killing as a tragedy regardless of politics and warned that Americans are becoming desensitized to violence, citing US actions in Venezuela and support for Israel's war in Gaza. Progressives such as former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau remarked that Carlson's reaction was, in their view, more humane than statements from figures like Vice President JD Vance, highlighting the complicated cross‑ideological impact of Carlson's commentary. In foreign policy debates, Responsible Statecraft notes that Carlson has also intensified his ongoing feud with neoconservatives over Iran, targeting conservative host Mark Levin and accusing hawks of trying to maneuver Trump into a regime‑change war by demanding Iran abandon all uranium enrichment. This has reinforced his role as a leading anti‑interventionist voice on the right, even as he aligns with Trump on Venezuela's oil.Meanwhile, business coverage continues to track the expansion of the Tucker Carlson Network as an independent subscription platform backed by right‑leaning investors, positioning him as both a political actor and a significant media entrepreneur whose moves are closely watched across the spectrum. Thanks for listening to the Tucker Carlson News Tracker podcast, and make sure to subscribe. DEFENDANT: Buddy the Elf EVIDENCE: Manos Wines Special Edition "Elf" Prosecco SCENE OF THE CRIME: From the North Pole all the way to Manhattan and back again! -- Hey — glad you made it to our cozy chaos. This episode is basically two things: a heavy pour of festive Prosecco (shoutout to the blingy Manos bottle) and a full-on, goofy love letter to Elf — plus the ridiculous trivia and fan theories that make holiday movies feel like family. We talk traditions, awkward childhood rituals, terrible gift-control impulses, and why some of our favorite seasonal things still hit like warm nostalgia. We nerd out about Elf like it's evidence in a case: Jon Favreau's direction, Will Ferrell's enormous golden-retriever energy, Zooey Deschanel's surprise musical cameo, James Caan's grumpy-dad groove, and even that weird Central Park ranger theory that adds a darker layer if you let it. There are shower scenes, department store mayhem, real-life crowd reactions caught on film, and a few production easter eggs (Wanda name tags and stop-motion nods) that are delightfully silly. Also: yes, we taste the Prosecco. It's festive, metallic, and exactly what you want for toasts — light, apple-y, and not too sweet. We compare it to champagne, Cava, and whatever else you line up on a party table while you argue whether donut holes count as zero calories and whether sparkling wine and popcorn are an acceptable holiday combo. (They are.) We get real about the season, too. If you're feeling pressure to show up for people who drain you, hear us: you don't have to. Treat holiday plans like a dinner party you actually want to attend. Set boundaries, keep what's meaningful, and let the rest go. If all else fails, borrow Buddy the Elf's wide-eyed wonder for a few minutes — it's the best kind of permission slip to feel joy again. So pour yourself something fizzy, fold a little ridiculousness into your traditions, and enjoy the stories — goofy, tender, and truer than you might expect. From our cramped, sparkly loft to wherever you're nesting this season: happy holidays, however you celebrate. Cheers.

Laci and Matt are joined by their friends AJ and Kristie from the In Love With Horror podcast to go through the history of the modern Christmas classic Elf (2003). First, the podcast goes through the history of the movie, starting as a spec script in the '90s with Jim Carrey vaguely attached. It entered development hell for years before being revived with Will Ferrell and Jon Favreau, before ultimately becoming the classic it is today... one that you just know Warner Bros is threatening to turn into a cinematic universe at any second. Sugar, Cheer, and Corporate Trauma – Elf (2003)This week on Bad Dads Film Review, we crack open a modern Christmas classic and ask the hard questions: how much maple syrup is too much maple syrup, and is Christmas cheer a viable alternative energy source? Our main feature is Elf (dir. Jon Favreau), the 2003 festive juggernaut that turned Will Ferrell into a full-blown Christmas institution. Ferrell plays Buddy, a human accidentally raised as an elf at the North Pole, who travels to New York to find his real father – a joyless publishing exec played with peak deadpan misery by James Caan.We get into:Why Elf works when so many studio Christmas comedies don'tFerrell's perfectly calibrated performance: total sincerity, zero cynicismThe fish-out-of-water chaos of Buddy vs New York (elevators, taxis, raccoons)Corporate burnout, absent fathers, and why this is secretly a film about emotional illiteracyZooey Deschanel's Jovie as the anti-manic-pixie manic pixiePeter Dinklage's Miles Finch: tiny man, nuclear rageForced perspective, stop-motion throwbacks, and Bob Newhart quietly holding the whole thing togetherWe also talk Elf on the Shelf fatigue, Christmas parenting arms races, and why forgetting to move a plastic elf at 6am is more stressful than most full-time jobs.Yes, the ending leans hard into mass sing-along cheer-powered magic. Yes, it's shameless. But Elf earns it by committing fully to warmth, kindness, and the radical idea that being nice to people might actually matter.A rare Christmas movie that works for kids, parents, and deeply cynical adults who swear they “hate festive films” but somehow still quote this one every December.Strong recommend. You can now text us anonymously to leave feedback, suggest future content or simply hurl abuse at us. In this week's episode of The Kibbe & Friends Show, the crew kicks off the Christmas season with one of the most beloved holiday films of the modern era: Elf. Rob, Corndog, and Bernie dive deep into what makes this 2003 classic so timeless—from Jon Favreau's intentional “Rankin/Bass meets live-action” style, to the practical effects and forced-perspective tricks that give the movie its handmade, storybook charm. They break down everything from Buddy's fish-out-of-water innocence in New York, to Zooey Deschanel's vintage-inspired performance, to the behind-the-scenes choices that turned a goofy comedy script into a heartfelt family movie that has joined the ranks of A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation as a true annual staple. But being K&F, the review doesn't stop at plot and characters—the guys treat Elf like a full-blown car movie. They dig into the real New York City Crown Vic taxis Buddy dodges throughout the film, talk P-codes and wheelbases, and then go full “Corndog Spec Ops” on the five different sleighs built for production—including which were stunt shells, which survived, and why the hero sleigh might secretly be Mopar-powered. If you love Christmas movies, deep-cut trivia, and automotive rabbit holes disguised as holiday cheer, this is a must-listen episode. One of the promises of this country has been the freedom to walk down the street without being harassed by the government. But even being an American citizen isn't stopping ICE agents from grabbing people with passports or IDs—and detaining them for hours. At the same time, many of the thugs and sadists who want to do the grabbing and snatching are pathetically failing basic physical fitness tests. Plus, JD is painfully unfunny, Republicans calling Democrats 'terrorists' has real world consequences, and Dems need more normal people running for office—but they should save the wild card candidates for long shot races.
