We're back and trying something a little different! We watched several shark movie trailers and decided to talk about them. "Visionary" "director" of The Room, Tommy Wisseau has decided to dip his toes into the shark infested water for his next "film". We do a deep dive into the trailer/underwear commercial for Big Shark! Then, we do a fresh watch of a movie we are personally excited for, The Meg 2: The Trench! We also check out the trailer for an oily shark in Black Demon, an opportunistic cash grab called Cocaine Shark, and, for some reason, Wes Anderson's Asteroid City (shrug emoji). It's a big goofy time. Join us! And check out all the trailers below. So, were getting some new Star Wars movies, a final Tarantino movie and a new movie form infamous filmmaker Tommy Wisseau.
Dustin and Logan head back to Deutschland for Sky Sharks, the German-produced film about nazi zombies that ride flying sharks. That old story. And while they're digging into this CGI festival of blood, guts, and uncomfortable nudity, they sample Topling Goliath's Digital Dawn IPA. It's a thought-provoking episode that makes one ponder things like: What would you do with a flying shark? What is a digital beer? Why does that woman sound like Tommy Wisseau?

Tim and Kelli discuss the 1999 crime, drama, thriller The Talented Mr. Ripley, currently streaming on Hulu. Why? Because we simply MUST know how the peeping is, Tommy! Did you know this film inspired Tommy Wisseau to make The Room? Was Tom Ripley always like this or did he become like this? How deep can one go into the Ripley psychology?! Deep. How did PSH make this character so distinct and real? Do we feel for Freddie? Do we hate Freddie? What was going on in Hoffman's career at this time? What does this film mean? How do you balance "who you are" with what is right? Do we have to know everything and WHO EVEN ARE WE?! We close out with where Kelli draws her creative inspiration from. All that and maybe a little bit more in this fourteenth episode of "That's That: A Philip Seymour Hoffman Retrospective Podcast." This episode's guest is friend, filmmaker, and collaborator, Kellie Rae Jordan. Follow The Jordan's Create on Instagram to keep up with the many film and artistic projects that Kelli has going. "That's That" is sponsored by One County Film Company, produced and hosted by Timothy Mark Davis, edited by Ryan Arnst, with show music composed by Jessica Rae Huber, and artwork by Drew Hanagen. Additional music from Kevin Graham and Tillman Silescu. Our next episode is on the 1994 drama/romance When a Man Loves a Woman, currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Our guest will be crowd favorite and new dog owner Samantha Sweeting Davis.

They did not watch The Room, they did not! On this week's episode, a double-misser as Davis and Schroeder managed to escape seeing Tommy Wisseau's classic film, "The Room." The guys "tear apart" the film and discover that it's basically a soft-core porn film with less sex and aren't impressed with Wisseau's acting abilities. Davis and Schroeder may not have liked it, but they have a lot to say about it! Enjoy and oh, hi, Mark. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

One of the best bad filmmakers ever Neil Breen is like a low budget Tommy Wisseau. For his day job he's an architect in Las Vegas. At night, he's the world's greatest hacker with a major messiah complex. We argue a lot of the so bad it's good merit and there's a lot of yelling which makes sense for such a rage inducing film. Recorded on January 8, 2018 Dre, Pete and Sam discuss a wide range of topics: Disney screwing up a Black Panther pin, Tommy Wisseau probably going to the Oscars, the true inspiration for Rick Sanchez, and Dre going on and on about how much he loves watching Japanese Pro Wrestling.

Dumb Nerds: Comedians Talking About Smart Topics They're Too Dumb For
“You’re tearing me apart, Lisa!!” How many times have you and your friends screamed that in terrible delight? We have Tommy Wisseau to thank for such a treasure. Comedian Zach Olsen (UCB, Bay Watch Watch podcast) comes on to talk about his love for “The Room”, a 2003 independent drama written, directed, produced by and starring Tommy Wisseau. Cassi and Zach also take a field trip to the movies before the recording to see “The Disaster Artist”. Spoiler alert: They loved it! (And will not spoil the film for you.) Instead Zach and Cassi get into what makes “The Room” so perfectly bad, how it got made and why Tommy Wisseau is so fascinating and strangely mysterious. It’s an episode guaranteed to make you want to watch “The Room” and quote Tommy’s lines and laugh all day. Enjoy! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
