Kelly and Tammy explore Pixar's WALL-E, a film that dares to say almost nothing for the first forty minutes—and somehow says everything about curiosity, connection, and what it means to be alive. They talk about how the filmmakers watched silent films for months to learn how emotions work without dialogue, why a frictionless life is enfeebling, and what a lonely robot can teach us about slowing down and looking closer. It's about the magic of noticing small things and why the films WALL-E and Her both arrive at the same moral: meaningful connection is what saves us. Doors close, choices open. We're diving headfirst into a cascade of Disney Would You Rather dilemmas that test how we think about mentors, sidekicks, power, and responsibility, all while keeping the fun at full throttle. From Yen Sid's steady hand to Merlin's lovable chaos, we explore what good guidance really looks like and why structure vs. spontaneity is a decision you make as much as a personality you have.We square off on sidekicks—Mushu's snark and magic versus Pascal's quiet loyalty—and unpack why conversation, humor, and a little dragon fire can change the course of a hero's journey. Then it's tools and power: Mary Poppins' bottomless carpet bag or the Robin Williams–level whirlwind of a rules-bound genie. We talk constraints, creativity, and why having limits can sharpen the wish you truly want. Add Maui's hook versus a magic carpet, and we hit the big question: is freedom the ability to go anywhere, or the power to become what the moment needs? Our map gets bigger with world choices: the neon tech of San Fransokyo or the layered communities of Zootopia. One of us craves invention and labs; the other dreams of social design that celebrates difference. We bring that lens to everyday life with Baymax's gentle healthcare support versus WALL·E's eco-minded cleanup—care for the body or care for the planet—and push further into team dynamics: the scrappy resilience of the Resistance or the specialized punch of the Avengers. Fashion even gets strategic with Edna Mode's tailored clarity against the Fairy Godmother's high-reach magic. And we end with the ultimate risk call: accept Maleficent's curse or negotiate Ursula's contract. Spoiler: we're reading the fine print and bringing a pen.Join us, pick your path, and tell us where you land. We gaan iets nieuws doen. Lenny's Podcast: Product | Growth | Career ✓ Claim Key Takeaways Deliberately understaff projects: Constraints force creativity and prevent bloat from politics and bureaucracyYou've gone too far when teams can't ship basic functionalityThe sweet spot is uncomfortable but productive tensionGood teams get tired; great teams run in the red constantly and destroy good teams in that momentHigh alpha, low beta framework: Evaluate people and processes on upside potential (alpha) versus volatility (beta)Prioritize high alpha opportunities even with higher betaProcesses exist solely to lower beta but suppress alpha as a trade-offThe nuanced dance is decreasing volatility where needed (like payroll) without killing upside in innovation areasKnow when to quit your startup: If you're not certain you have product-market fit, you don't have itCompanies that hit big do so quickly; the “never quit” mentality is VC propaganda designed to extract value from founders, not protect themPivot twice or three times maximum, typically by year fourYou're running an experiment to see if the universe has binding receptors for your product. If not, move on… Leadership means fighting entropy relentlesslyTeams naturally optimize for local comfort and disorderExecutives must demand 99% energy levels daily, or the system decaysTop performers don't get 10% more rewards; they get 10-100xBeing “chill” accomplishes nothingWithholding negative feedback is selfish because you prioritize your comfort over making teammates and the company better Read the full notes @ podcastnotes.orgMatt MacInnis is the chief product officer and former longtime COO at Rippling, a unified workforce management platform valued at over $16 billion. We discuss:1. Send us a textWhat if Disney World added a park built on discovery instead of nostalgia? We clink Space 220-inspired cocktails and blueprint a fifth gate where a kinetic Atlas Spire orients you to realms of myth, exploration, and city-of-the-future wonder. We compare our AI prompts and pull the best ideas into a cohesive vision: a Mystic Manor–anchored spirit land with living art and folklore; an oceanic realm shaped by Sinbad and 20,000 Leagues energy with a Leviathan coaster that fakes “underwater” with lighting and no-visible-track sections; and a Cities of Tomorrow district that swaps retro chrome for global futurism, blending Big Hero 6 kinetics, real plants, and WALL-E's hope.We go big with Society of Explorers and Adventurers—Journey to the Center of the Earth reimagined, steampunk research vehicles, and a live “Grand Symposium” where inventions delightfully misfire. Then we expand Zootopia into a full metropolis: tundra, Sahara, and rainforest neighborhoods tied together by a trackless Hot Pursuit chase that starts with a perfectly timed sloth gag. To balance the IP, we stake out Realms of Legends, an original mythology land led by a soaring theater experience, a character-rich Path of Heroes walkthrough, and a Legends Carousel that turns classic ride charm into worldbuilding.Food and atmosphere seal the deal. Picture a Gathering Table that feels communal and candlelit, a stargazing lounge over the park, a caravanserai alive with Silk Road flavors and roaming storytellers, and kiosks serving hand pies, flatbreads, tea flights, and seafood. We even place the park with Skyliner access and a Meridian Grand Lodge offering a dedicated entrance and rooftop observatory. The result is a full-day experience where rides, shows, and dining are stitched together by a single promise: exploration that rewards curiosity. If this sparks your imagination, follow, share, and leave a review. Tell us which land you'd rope drop first and what attraction you'd add to make the fifth gate unforgettable.

The WnT Podcast is officially back for 2026! In Season 6, Episode 80, titled "New Year Same Show," Wheelerj28 and the crew kick off the year by airing some grievances, as Tyler calls out Mitch for some lingering Christmas treat drama. The team also dives deep into the massive Stranger Things theatrical finale and debates the fan theories about a secret bonus episode dropping soon. It's not all fun and games, though—the guys open the phones to vent about the Winnipeg Jets' brutal 9-game losing streak and discuss the newly announced Olympic hockey rosters. Plus, they break down Manitoba's new traffic laws (Bill 38), the list of "banished words" for 2026, and the spicy rumors surrounding a Lady Gaga and The Weeknd collaboration for the World Cup. From Gen Alpha slang to a real-life Wall-E, this episode covers everything you missed while ringing in the new year. @TylerCarrfm @Wheelerj28 @Energy106fm Tyler Carr on Tik Tok

On the Chad & Cheese Podcast, hosts Joel Cheesman and Chad Sowash welcomed Alexis Meschi, the pasta-making, client-charming co-founder of Ora Marketing — not Aura, because apparently, we're not glowing with ethereal vibes, but slinging strategic social media for recruiters and staffing agencies. Hailing from California's Bay Area, Alexis, a former school teacher with three young adult daughters (who occasionally crave Taco Bell over gourmet Italian), dished on her “done-for-you” marketing agency that crafts LinkedIn-centric content like videos, posts, and articles to help recruiters snag clients without breaking a sweat. She's all about keeping it real on LinkedIn, the recruiter's digital watercooler, while side-eyeing TikTok as a brain-corrupting time vortex—sorry, no dance videos here! Alexis tackled the AI hype, warning against tools that promise the moon but deliver digital lint, offering a five-point checklist to dodge the fluff: ensure the tool solves a real problem (not just shiny candy), fits your workflow without turning it into a circus, provides actual human support (not just a dusty FAQ), shows clear 30-day results (numbers, not warm fuzzies), and boosts human connection, because nobody wants to recruit via chatbot therapy. With a nod to society's WALL-E-esque obsession with instant gratification, she insisted humans still crave real connection—unless you're in the U.S., where Uber Eats and Instacart are apparently our love language. Catch Alexis on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexis-albright-meschi-8b10a2243/), where she's serving up marketing wisdom with a side of wit, and skip the TikTok scroll to keep your brain uncorrupted.

In this episode of AwesomeCast 761, Michael Sorg is joined by Intern Mac and Intern Tony for a wildly geeky night of robots, AI, VR, and very silly holiday gifts. We kick things off with the new Robosen Shockwave Transformer robot, a $1,000 self-transforming Decepticon boombox that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker, then fall down a rabbit hole of programmable Transformers, Buzz Lightyear, and WALL-E robots for STEM-minded kids. From there, Mac highlights Apple's latest Apple TV “liquid glass” intro, crafted with real glass panes and practical effects instead of AI – a hopeful sign for human artists in an AI-heavy world. Sorg shares what it's like living with an AI-generated news anchor on his Telly-style TV, including a bizarre “buff Judge Elvis” story that looks nothing like the real judge and points toward a future of AI hosts on gas-station and in-store TVs. The crew then revisits GameStop's “Trade Anything” day, reacting to reports of taxidermy, cans of beans, cursed plushies, and stressed-out employees caught between corporate hype and real-world chaos. On the gaming and VR side, we look at a mod project that brings classic shooters like Quake III, Doom 3, Redneck Rampage, and Quake 4 into standalone VR on Meta Quest headsets and reminisce about the clunky mall-VR rigs of the 1990s. Chachi's Video Game Minute covers the Helldivers movie, Netflix's proposed Warner Bros / WB Games deal, and rumored Japanese studios making design applicants draw by hand to avoid AI shortcuts – which leads into a deeper chat about Netflix potentially owning Mortal Kombat, Batman Arkham, DC Comics, and what that means for movies and games. Tony's Awesome Thing of the Week is pure chaos: the TikTok-viral “Butts on Things” activity books, puzzles, and Cheek-to-Cheek card game – proving once again that everyone finds butts funny and weird gifts win Christmas. We wrap with internship reflections, from Apple sock purses and new Apple gadgets to everything Mac and Tony have learned about podcast production, live streaming, editing, and social media on the Sorgatron Media shows. Stick around to the end for a tease of our Patreon-exclusive segment featuring the creepiest robot dogs you'll ever see.

In this episode of Quakers Today, co-hosts Sweet Miche (they/them) and Peterson Toscano (he/him) invite you to learn more about the sometimes baffling practice of silent worship. Whether you're a long-time Friend or someone who has never stepped into a mostly silent meeting, we are pulling back the curtain to explore what happens in our hearts, minds, and bodies when we sit together in worship. The Purpose of Ministry We speak with author Rhiannon Grant about her book, Speaking in Quaker Meeting for Worship: What, When, How, and Why. Rhiannon helps us understand the purpose of spoken ministry in the silent meeting, explaining how speech that deepens silence is a vital part of our shared spiritual practice. Quote: "The purpose of ministry then might be understood as deepening the silence of meeting for worship." Read a review of Speaking in Quaker Meeting for Worship by Paul Buckley at FriendsJournal.org. Learn more about Rhiannon Grant's book and other Quaker Quicks at QuakerBooks.org/Collections/Quaker-Quicks. Our First Meetings for Worship Peterson and Sweet Miche share their first experiences in Quaker worship: Peterson's search for community after 9/11 and Sweet Miche's feeling of guidance at Pendle Hill. We also hear from Paula Christophersen, a Quaker in Germany, who shared her first experience of ministry. You can watch the full video of Paula Christophersen on YouTube or at QuakerSpeak.com. Meeting for Worship with Attention to Worship Peterson introduces a new format for meeting for worship he's been experimenting with: Meeting for Worship with Attention to Worship. This model of worship uses the meeting's existing structure to guide newcomers by making the internal work of worship visible and conversational. Quaker Fiction We explore how writers use fiction and poetry to make the internal, mystical experience of worship visible. Anne E.G. Nydam's story, “The Conduits”, reveals the flow of connection in meeting through glowing lines of light. Peterson shares two of his short stories! “Penn's Spring”, uses a mysterious, unexplained wet patch on a meetinghouse wall to represent a spiritual movement in a "stagnant and dry" meeting. “What Is Actually There” features a high-schooler named Jordan reflecting on the enduring effort of the Quaker path. “A Fine Showing for the Court of Owls” by Jonathan Doering is a story about the radical Quaker abolitionist Benjamin Lay. Read Quaker-themed fiction and poetry in the November 2025 issue of Friends Journal. Listener Responses Who is someone you've encountered in fiction that embodies Quakerness? The character could be from a book or movie. They could be a hero or even a minor character, and they do not need to be Quaker. This month's fictional “Quakers” include: Pooh Bear, Maisie Dobbs, Gumby, Ted Lasso, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, WALL-E, Stevens from The Remains of the Day, and Dorothea from George Eliot's Middlemarch. Next Month's Question We want to hear from you! What do you believe now that you didn't believe before becoming a friend or before encountering Quakerism? Leave us a voice memo with your name and town at 317-QUAKERS (317-782-5377). (+1 if outside the U.S.) You can also reply by email at podcast@FriendsJournal.org or on our social media channels.
