In this emotional and unforgettable episode of Ravished, hosts Nik and Donna dive deep into The Women by Kristin Hannah, and let's just say… we were not prepared. From the very first pages, this sweeping story of courage, friendship, sacrifice, and resilience pulled us in completely. We laughed at the tender moments, cried through the heartbreak, and absolutely fell in love with the strength and complexity of these women.Nik and Donna unpack the emotional weight of the Vietnam era, the often-overlooked stories of women who served, and the powerful themes of love, identity, and belonging that Kristin Hannah captures so beautifully. We share our favorite scenes, the moments that wrecked us (yes, tissues were involved), and why this novel will stay with us long after the final page. If you're ready for a heartfelt conversation about a book that truly ravished us, this episode is for you.

Welcome back for the final episode in this months theme of Rom-Coms I Fell For! And I'm ending this month with a classic 80s movie from my childhood, Can't Buy Me Love. But this time I'll be watching, reacting and then reviewing the movie because it's been awhile since I've done that. I went in expecting the worst—and somehow it still disappointed. The only thing this movie gets right is its final conflict, which avoids the usual rom-com misunderstanding and instead focuses on clashing goals and priorities. Unfortunately, that's the lone bright spot. Everything else falls flat. There's zero romantic chemistry, weak comedic timing, and performances that never rise above average. The script feels like a checklist of tired rom-com clichés, and the story ultimately exists just to sell a book rather than tell anything meaningful. No real character growth, no depth, and shockingly boring. Unless you're a hardcore fan of the actors or the book, skip this and watch literally any other rom-com. #RelationshipGoals #RomComFail #MovieReview #HonestReview #NoChemistry #BoringMovies #SkipThisOne #AmazonPrime #RomComProblems #FilmCritic #MovieTalk #NotRecommended #WatchSomethingElse #ClickbaitButTrue

Any takeaways from this episode?Dearest, gentle listeners… our Bridgerton series is back, and today we are talking Bridgerton Couples. We're starting with Chaotic Edition (Healthy Edition drops next week).Today we're breaking down the couples who brought:
A fresh 2026, book to screen Rom Com, based on the novel by Emily Henry, starring Emily Bader and Tom Blyth (YES, President Snow, but as a brunette). This little snack features a couple that lies to themselves for years that they're not in love, while they date and almost marry other people because they're too stubborn to admit that they like each other. Not gonna lie, sometimes things can be good for just the DRAMA of it all. And this is DRAMA.
In this episode, the hosts dive into their favorite and least favorite romantic comedies, from elite enemies-to-lovers arcs to friends-to-lovers that absolutely should have stayed friends. They break down the rom-com tropes that still make them swoon—and the ones that should be permanently retired. With hot takes, nostalgia, and a little cinematic judgment, they revisit the films that shaped their expectations of love (for better or worse). Some classics get their flowers. Others… should have never been made.Follow & stay connected:IG: @thanks4urconcern @berenicediazm @ellaltudorTikTok: @thanks4yourconcern @ellaltudorYouTube: https://youtube.com/@thanksforyourconcernpod

Tubi may not have the same name recognition as Netflix or Hulu, but the streamer continues to offer original content, with several recent programs targeting younger viewers. That's the case with "Kissing Is the Easy Part," an adaptation of a romance novel by Christine Duann. The film stars Paris Berelc and Asher Angel, who both chat with co-host Bruce Miller about the film. Before that, Miller and co-host Terry Lipshetz chat about the Winter Olympics, which are in full swing, as well as their interactions with Olympians over the years. Miller also talks about the new miniseries "Love Story," the FX/Hulu program from Ryan Murphy that looks at the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. And finally, Lipshetz not only names off all of the "Bridgerton" characters A through H, but offers his thoughts on the latest season, which recently dropped the first half of season 4 on Netflix with the second half to come at the end of February. This season takes a Cinderella story approach with Benedict and his love interest. About the show Streamed & Screened is a podcast about movies and TV hosted by Bruce Miller, a longtime entertainment reporter who is the retired editor of the Sioux City Journal in Iowa and Terry Lipshetz, a senior producer for Lee Enterprises based in Madison, Wisconsin. The show was named Best Podcast in the 2025 Iowa Better Newspaper Contest. Theme music Thunder City by Lunareh, used under license from Soundstripe. YouTube clearance: FV694ULMCJQDG0IY

Not every rom-com love story was built on fantasy. In this Valentine's Day special episode of KDTime, we're flipping the narrative and celebrating the couples who actually had what it takes to last. These are the relationships built on communication, friendship, growth, and choosing each other beyond the final scene. From slow-burn love stories and friends-to-lovers arcs to couples who learned how to grow together instead of apart — we're breaking down why these romances worked and why they'd still be standing long after the credits rolled.Because real love isn't perfect — it's intentional. And sometimes… rom-coms got it right.Am I wrong? And BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE is available from Bridwell Press. James's ROMANTIC COMEDY is available from Four Way Books.Show Notes:Paul Verlaine was born in 1844. Read more about him here. Verlaine was an Aries sun, Leo Moon, and Scorpio ascendant.Arthur Rimbaud was born on October 20, 1854, and you can read more about him here. Rimbaud was a triple Libra (sun, moon, ascendant). Rimbaud met Verlaine in September 1871, a month before his 18th birthday. Following his tumultuous relationship with Paul Verlaine, which ended in 1873, Rimbaud traveled extensively through Europe, often on foot. He became a trader/merchant, selling coffee, hides, and eventually guns, becoming a "soldier of fortune." In 1891, a tumor developed on his right knee and forced him to return to Paris and died later that year at 37, without knowing how popular his poems had become in Symbolist circles. The gun Verlaine used to shoot Rimbaud recently went up for auction. One of the poems Rimbaud sent to Verlaine in 1871 was "Le Dormer du Val," which you can watch recited as part of the Favorite Poem Project here. (Recited by chef Jacques Pépin.) Rimbaud and Verlaine wrote a collaborative poem, "Sonnet to the Asshole" which you can read (and read about) here. In 2016, the poet Eileen Myles told The New York Times, "I think men should stop writing books. I think men should stop making movies or television. Say, for 50 to 100 years. Sounds great." Read the interview here. When we reference "tongue in the butt," we are talking about a segment from an early Breaking Form season 1 show called "Bad Animals." Valentine's-ish Literary Romance: Lucas Oakley on Nearly Departed, Boys Book Club & love stories that stay with you long after readingJoin Kate and Lucas Oakeley for this Valentine's-ish episode of The Book Club Review, recorded at Housmans Bookshop in King's Cross. We're exploring literary fiction where love takes centre stage, but the reward is complexity rather than a guaranteed happy ending.Nearly Departed manages to combine the enjoyable tropes of Rom Com with the thoughtful exploration through writing that we associate with literary fiction. We explore how Lucas's real-life experiences—witnessing a fatal cycling accident and his father's first wife dying young—shaped the book's exploration of love, loss, and second chances, and the art of balancing humour with heartbreak while playing with rom-com tropes.Of course, we've got plenty of recommendations for love stories with emotional depth, including Lily King's Writers & Lovers, Andrew Kaufman's All My Friends Are Superheroes, Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day, David Nicholls' Sweet Sorrow, Douglas Stuart's John of John, and hot-book-of-the-moment Wuthering Heights. We're also discussing Boys Book Club, the organization Lucas has co-founded to encourage men to read and talk about books. What makes a great book club pick for an all-male book club? We're going to be finding out. We've even got Valentine's recipe – rigatoni with a long-simmered ‘Sunday sauce' – and a couple of cocktail ideas. All in all, the perfect ingredients for a literary Valentine's weekend.Become a member of The Book Club Review communityJoin The Book Club Review community on Patreon for ad-free listening, extra episodes, Kate's weekly reading diaries, the opportunity to connect with other listeners in the chat groups, and at the higher tier to talk books in-person with Kate at the monthly book club. Happy Friday the 13th!… oh and also Valentine's Day. This week we finally go through with our rom-com episode that we've been mentioning for years. We start out the episode talking a bit about the passing of Brad Arnold from 3 Doors Down. It definitely hit us hard. We go on to talk about a bunch of rom-com movies that we have seen over the years and we give our thoughts on them. Greg throws out some famous lines and sees if Alex can guess the movie it's from. You'll be surprised who is more of a rom-com fan!
On this episode the guys discuss romcoms, endless caloric intake, and much moe. Enjoy.

A weekly news roundup with our reporter colleagues throughout the state. First, in early 2023, Rochester City Council purchased 15 self-contained heated and cooled units to be placed in the city's only sanctioned homeless encampment, Peace Village. But three years on, Peace Village is still vacant, and those shelters now sit in snow-covered storage at a city lot on Dewey Avenue. WXXI News' investigations and City Hall reporter Gino Fanelli explains why. Then, Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado ended his primary bid against Governor Kathy Hochul this week. WNYC's Jimmy Vielkind has the latest in the race for New York State's highest position. We end the week with a nod to Valentine's Day. CITY Magazine pop culture critic Johanna Lester joins us for a look at the staying power of romantic comedies, and we take a rom-com quiz!
