Kintsugi means "joining with gold" in Japanese. The centuries old art is more than an aesthetic. For the japanese, it's part of a broader philosophy of embracing the beauty of human flaws. It reminds us that something can break and yet still be beautiful. Once it's repaired, it's stronger in the places it was once broken. Here I want to bridge the gap in having conversations about God, Mental Health/Illness, and everything in between whole also showing that what you consider to be broken and/or imperfect, God sees as a masterpiece. During many moments of my own personal time of reflection and prayer, the question of how solitude, loneliness, and isolation have affected my life and what they are, have come across my mind. I'm not perfect by any means. Everything I have said mentioned in this episode I'm still learning to practice for myself. One of the many reasons why I decided to create this platform was so that I can share my own journey in my deepening with my relationship with God, my mind, body, and soul. I hope you all are able to gain some new found knowledge and more importantly the encouragement and confidence to implement these practices into your every day life. The discussion of what life looks like after a failed suicide attempt is one I don't hear talked about enough. As someone who had a failed attempt just a few months ago, and many others before that, I'm familiar with the process all too well. In todays episode, I hope me sharing my story and journey will give those who have a loved one with a past of suicide attempts a better understanding, and for those who are in the process of putting their life back together, a sense of hope with the fact that you're not alone. As John moved closer to God in the process, the storm hit harder than ever, taking him to his knees. We still live in the world where stigma is very much alive and it affects everyone in different levels in different ways. Now this doesn't just go for people outside of the church, this goes for people inside of the church as well. The church is not just a building with four walls, the church is the group of people who have come together in one Accord to say that they believe in God, and they believe that Jesus is our Lord and savior who died and Rose in three days from the grave. We don't have to let stigma exist anymore. It's time to push against it. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kintsugi-talks/support
