To be able to see God working in our lives, we have to be intentional to seek Him and choose to believe with expectancy that He is always at work. To be able to lay down all that we are and open our hearts to God in faith and expectancy. It is definate that we will see Him move in a special way. If we choose to believe that God speaks then it changes how we listen and with time it becomes more organic because we get familiar with His voice and how He speaks. Our commitment is grounded on the fact that, we believe He is present in our lives, at all seasons and through every circumstance. Hence with this confidence, our heart desire to see and hear His speak to us will be fulfilled. When we have faith God is real, and He is good, then our faith pleases Him and then He opens more opportunities to us to get to experience or encounter Him in a special way. In His love, He draws us to Him by allowing us to experience Him. The more we experience His presence, we experience His love too..... a love that transforms us from inside out. This is a journey of Trust.

The truth of the matter is podcast is all about providing an honest, contextual, historicized, Philosophical and Psychological view of the Bible through the use of Hermeneutics, while sharing some personal experiences from myself, Daniel and on occasion our special guest. This week we have two guests. Paul Granger who has a podcast called: where did you see God? And Terrance Mcullen who has a podcast called: what's the value? Both of these gentlemen are good friends of mind and thought it would be an honor to have both of them in to discuss the purpose of New Year's resolutions, the importance of friendships, the definition of wisdom, the definition of love, how we could measure change and the meaning and purpose of suffering. We're investigating a key piece of gamebook history this episode as we explore The Cave of Time, the first proper Choose Your Own Adventure book by Edward Packard with art by Paul Granger. With 40 different endings this packs a lot of adventure into a small package. It spawned a wildly successful franchise but is this book actually any good? Has there ever been a time in your life when you say to God, “I've had enough?” I know I have, and my returning guest, Paul Granger talks about a time when he's felt this way as well. I was connected with Paul by a mutual friend and we actually had a conversation on another podcast prior to this one. This works out well sometimes, because it allows us to get deeper into the discussion since we already have a baseline understanding of each other. Paul brought "love God and love others" as his strongly held belief to discuss for the show. What I knew about Paul from our prior conversation was that he would be super thoughtful about why he believed so strongly in this idea and he would also be super open to examining/challenging it to try to understand it better. We discussed why there are some Christians who would agree with his belief but don't follow it, why people are skeptical of Christianity, why so many Christians feel compelled to "stand up" for God, and if suffering is ever something that we should accept in the world. As someone who identifies as a "Christian" in a time when the definition of that can be pretty murky, Paul Granger strives to live out the values he claims to believe in his home, his community, and his work. For nearly 20 years he has served with non-profits and ministries to support communities that have historically been underserved and neglected. He now foregoes a traditional paycheck, instead raising support so that he can stand with his neighbors in a deeper way, while also producing content like writings, videos, and his podcast, "Where did you see God?" From the start of 2019 when this podcast was first published I have desired to have faith filled conversations about the tension we live in sometimes between what Scripture teaches about healing and what we are to do as Christians with our experiences of pain, sorrow, and suffering. One on hand we want to believe that the absence of mental illness and its symptoms is evidence that God has chosen to heal us completley. He has learned that these elements of his identity supersede and shape the rest. One of the ways God has invited him to live out the call to "love God and love others" is through the "shepherding gift": providing pastoral support, creating space for conversation and community, and advocating for those that may go unseen. Functionally, he has spent the last two decades serving with various ministries, and now serves full time alongside YWAM in loving his neighbors in authentic ways. He also loves to create, whether it is his podcast "Where did you see God", writings, or videos. He loves spending time with his wife and kids, and they see their home -- which God gave them in a crazy way -- as an important piece of how they love their neighbors as a lifestyle.
