Have you ever wondered what it's REALLY like to be a #hollywoodassistant? Now is your chance. I invite fellow assistants to my apartment and ask them what it's like to work for another person. And we drink.
I'm so fortunate to have Jeremy as my guest. He has a true Hollywood Hero story. He went to a well-known little school to study NEUROSCIENCE and after he fell in love with the arts, decided to pursue a career in entertainment. He is "good in small sips and has a sweet tooth" and is a delight!!!!!!!! He's also a terrible ice cream profiler....
I sat down with Farah, a self proclaimed "basic bitch" who ordered a twist on the Moscow Mule. She substituted ginger beer for Kombucha Ginger Ade, cause you know, sugar. We talked about her love for Saddle Ranch on Sunset, meeting a VERY hot celebrity and then her transition to viral fame when her face was plastered on numerous celeb media sites.
Seamus really put my Irish accent to the test in this week's podcast. I made him a sazerac (p.s. absinthe is NOT cheap) and we discussed some things in English and some things in French. I apologize for my witch cackle, but his joke at the end GOT ME GOOD.
Heather joined me this week and her little Polish self requested the easiest drink to date: vodka rocks with lime. I don't know what I loved most about her - her Midwest accent, her sass mouth, or the INCREDIBLE stories she has from working a handful of... interesting jobs. This week is a little bit longer than usual but trust me, it's worth it.
This week I dragged good old Billy Bourbon down to Ktown to talk shop with me. He asked for anything with bourbon so I picked an "Aqueduct" which is a twist on an Old Fashioned. If you're curious which meme we were laughing at google "angry happy chihuahua."We talked first jobs, dream jobs, and hand jobs. You're welcome.
After what felt like a half hour, I finally finished Jasmine's drink of a blood orange margarita (from scratch, mind you) and talked to her about what it's like to be in the room with writers, some less than stellar things she's had to do for an old boss, and who she would follow if she could only follow one account on Instagram.
Much like Cary Grant, my guest Grant was 100% pure class. I made him the bourbon based drink, Fields of Gold, and we talked about coming out stuff, a 7AM alarm, and how important the color of coffee is.
Jessica gave me my first challenge and asked that I prepare a Moscow Mule. Even though the unused mugs smelled a little like dog food, we got into the nitty gritty of life as an aspiring film producer. Also, I got a little drunk and we couldn't stop laughing. Turns out, I make a STRONG Moscow Mule.
Jax, an aspiring comedy writer, came over and we learned that I am terrible at opening wine bottles. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a nice glass of $3 Chuck. The moral of the story is that Jesus is always the way in.
This episode's guest, Will, chose a Neopolitan milkshake from In N Out. He maybe had one of the (literal) shittiest job in high school and he has me to thank for playing matchmaker. We also get #real and talk about #oscarssowhite. More importantly, you'll find out which GOP presidential candidate he'd smooch.
In the premiere episode, Holly gets an Amaretto + Lime and we talk about her early success, her past career as a babysitter, and some gems in her dating history. *Special note, she refers to me as "Whiskey Richard/Dick", which is the name of the email address associated with the podcast. Enjoy! xo
