This episode features music from the upcoming release of Bridges, a 21-song compilation by local tape label Crafted Sounds. There's a ton of great music on this thing, but we only had time to talk about a few including; Merce Lemon, Bat Zuppel, Soft Gondola, The Lopez, Princex, Barlow, and Short Fictions! Enjoy an interview with fellow PGH musician Bruiser Beep, who is also included on the compilation. We talk about their upbringing in Oil City, PA as well as doing the DIY music thing. Can you believe we made it all the way to 20 episodes? Neither can we, but we're gonna just keep going with it! Plug in your earbuds or turn up or radio cause this one is a doozy! Ian is joined this week by co-hosts Cody Clark and Mikey Law to discuss all things the Windy City! Topics of discussion range from visiting the Chicago Music Exchange, peeing in traffic, and eating shitty deep dish pizza. No matter what their opinion on deep dish might be, all three can agree that Chicago's music scene is no joke. Speaking of music, this episode includes reviews of new releases from The Great Deceivers, DROOL, Krozer, Sonny Falls, and of course, the interviewees of the episode, Squid. They were kind enough to let us premiere a brand new single called "Big Red" off their forthcoming album Soda Pop due 5/20. Feel free to skip to the 25 minute mark to hear "Big Red" and the interview without our ramblings! Squid is a progressive, shoegaze, math/weirdo rock band who played their final show last June at Pittsburgh's own Mr. Roboto Project. Ian had the pleasure of sitting with them for a few minutes before their gig and started to talk about the beginning of the band, the future for all four of them, and all things "Watersports and Soda Pop". We hope you love this episode and if you enjoyed any of the music you heard this episode, go buy a song or like a band page. Anything helps and in this day and age its more important than ever to support our local music scenes! Tune in next Friday for more of the best music you haven't heard yet!
