Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com About a year ago, Big Daddy Kane switched from a two-wheel Harley Ultra Limited to a Harley Tri-Glide trike. He was hoping that the trike would better serve his needs due to a few underlying medical issues. Well, there's only one way to find out, and that's to get a trike and ride the heck out of it. In episode 210 of the podcast, we had a great time discussing trikes and had another Haley Tri-glide rider present, Big Daddy Kane's dad. Take a listen! LAB-210-Why He Switched to a Harley-Davidson Trike & Real Biker Talk-Special Guest Rick Kane Sr. Big Daddy rode the heck out of his Harley trike over the past year. Most recently, he rode it 3200 miles during a 9-day trip to Sturgis 2020, the 80th Anniversary. He was also riding with his passenger during the trip and riding in our larger group of about 12 motorcycles. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Big Daddy started experiencing some issues as a trike obviously handles differently than a two-wheel motorcycle. There is a lot more pressure on your arms and wrists as you are not leaning but turning the bars through corners. You use your arms a lot more and he was experiencing arm fatigue and wrist pain due to a medical issue. He also found it difficult at times to keep up with the group, both while passing cars and during corners. Both are expected on a trike as you can't take corners as quickly and the heavier trike will not get up and go as fast while passing as a two-wheel Harley will. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! There are many other things you should know if you're considering a Harley trike. With that said, Big Daddy switched because of some particular issues he was having, which others may not have. The trike is certainly perfect for many riders out there. Big Daddy is just sharing his personal experiences and journey while trying a trike during this episode, so take a listen. Ultimately, Big Daddy traded in his Harley trike during Sturgis at Black Hills Harley-Davidson and left with a 2020 Harley Ultra Limited and he's loving it! That, along with many other things will be seen in my Sturgis 2020 documentary film when it's released! NEW FREE VIDEO RELEASED: Surprise Visit to the Law Abiding Biker Motorcycle Store? He holds a private pilot's license – not something you hear about too often! And away from the skies, he spends a lot of his time caring for his daughter who suffers from a rare condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Stephen tells us all about it and the challenges they've had to work through.
Stephen Cooper joins the Adventure to discuss the ngTemplateOutlet, how it's used and where you'd add it to your application. It allows you to put a template into place where you have the outlet so you can specify what to put into the spot you have the template in and then specify the variables that it uses. This allows you to have a custom template for a specific item. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Since creating Law Abiding Biker™ Media about 8 years ago, I have had the opportunity to meet so many awesome bikers within the motorcycle community. This community is so giving and has helped us so much along the way. There are so many unique backgrounds and life stories within the community. I love interviewing bikers and sharing their stories and experiences as I did so in this episode. I had the pleasure of interviewing Patron Member Terry McDonough of Medford, Oregon. We had such a good time that we split the conversation into a two-part podcast series, so make sure you listen to part 1 and part 2 in order, so it all makes sense. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Terry is another great example of the supportive biker community that surrounds Law Abiding Biker™ Media. He supports us financially as a Patron Member so we can continue to help, educate, entertain, and inspire as many bikes as we can worldwide. There are many benefits to becoming a Patron Member and one of them is being able to attend ride and meetup events, such as Terry did in Sturgis this year. Terry has some unique skills having worked with sheet metal for years. He asked me why I hadn't put sheet metal tops on the workbenches in the Law Abiding Biker Shop. He noticed in the videos on our YouTube channel that we have wood tops. During our conversation, he offered to shape and create sheet metal tops for the workbenches and I was humbled by the offer, to say the least. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! So, this fall Terry came all the way up from Medford, Oregon to Yakima, Washington where the Law Abiding Biker Media Shop and Studio are located. This is a 7 hr drive and he simply measured the workbenches but we got to hang out and talk. Weeks later, I drove to Medford, Oregon to Terry's sheet metalworking shop and filmed the process of him bending and creating the bench tops. I will be releasing a full documentary film on the entire process, so make sure you're subscribed to the YouTube Channel, so you know when it releases. Last, Terry drove back up to the shop with the metal workbench tops and installed them. Wow, they look great! And this was all donated by Terry. I'm am so grateful and humbled by his kindness. Of course, while I had him in the studio, we sat down and did a couple of podcast episodes. Not only is Terry good with sheet metal but he has a ton of experience with motorcycles. And he shares some unique experiences he's had while working in Antarctica. NEW FREE VIDEO RELEASED: RickRak GoPro Fork Mount For Harley Davidson 2014 to Present Sponsor-Ciro 3D CLICK HERE! This week on the Governance Update with Chris Eddy and Stephen Cooper, local government consultant Mark Davies drops by to unpack the recently released rating system review. We discuss the conflict issues, or lack thereof, in relation to a Council vote on an alleged misconduct matter and more.
This week, Chris Eddy and Stephen Cooper are joined by Hannah Duncan-Jones from Local Government Victoria for an update on LGA 2020 implementation; new guidance on personal interest returns; and a review of mandatory candidate training. We also discuss this week's LGPRo virtual conference, and a study that reveals the conflicted, harassed and insecure life of a council CEO.
Governance is back! Talking Codes of Conduct troubles, more CEO movements in the sector, model working documents for finance practitioners, and induction prompted conflict of interest quandaries. Join Chris Eddy and Stephen Cooper for another mostly useful discussion now.
