Wednesday Evening Bible Study through the book of Judges. The first judge was Othniel, nephew of Caleb.
When we see someone who has possibly turned from God we must NEVER treat them harshly or judge them from our perspective. We have NO IDEA what brought them to their circumstance. Yes, it could have been their choice to partake in harmful sin. But it also could have been the result of someone else's sin which harmed them through physical, emotional, spiritual, or sexual abuse. Or they could be struggling from the tragedy of heartache or loss. Regardless of the REASON- Jesus is our REMEDY.
Are you afraid to have your understanding challenged? There are a few stories from the Bible that have been taught wrong so many times that we are afraid to take them as they are found in God's Word. The story of Deborah is a perfect example. She was a prophetess. She was a judge. She was never condemned for either of those roles in Scripture. God has used women over and over to speak for Him and do His will. We must ALL learn from them and follow their example as they followed God. This is not a gender story. This is a Godly person OBEYING GOD.
Jesus Is My Redeemer! He has redeemed me and He continues to redeem me day by day!
Let us lay aside the WEIGHTS of this world and walk at LIBERTY following Christ!! For He is Glorious!
Matthew 5: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Each Sunday morning we have been studying the 5 crowns mentioned. This message is about the crown of rejoicing for those who have shared the gospel and brought souls to Christ.

“And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.” Psalms 78:8 “That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:” Isaiah 30:9 “But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.” Jeremiah 5:23

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works." I Timothy 2:8-10
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. I Timothy 2:1-8
Phebe Romans 16:1,2 "I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also." When God Calls: We must Acknowledge Him. We must Answer Him!
"And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west. And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship. And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me." ACTS 27:10-25
