A man gets blamed by the Gemara for destroying Jerusalem — and he didn't do anything. He wasn't invited to the party. He didn't start the fight. He just stood there and watched someone get humiliated and thrown out, and said nothing. That silence, Rabbi Prisman argues, is the real story of the Churban — not hatred, just people who stopped noticing each other. This Tisha B'Av, that's the connection worth making: not just mourning a building, but closing the gap between not hating someone and actually feeling their pain. Ahead of Tisha B'Av, a hard question worth sitting with: if "I don't hate anyone" is the bar you're clearing, is that actually enough?
In this episode, Dave and Jamison answer these questions: I stayed too long at my first company and now my career is ruined? Hi both, long time listener. (Since I graduated university 4 years ago actually and felt I could never find a job but listening to you guys made me feel not like such an outcast in our field.) I graduated in 2022. Didn't really apply around much and almost immediately accepted the full time offer from the company I did my internship with during my degree. And fast forward to middle of 2026… I am still here. I've long stopped growing as an engineer and have actually been stuck on a simple CLI tool for almost 4 years now with little to no cloud/backend/etcetera experience to show in my 5 year career. I don't feel I am desirable in the job market at all due to this and waited way too long to look for a job because I was comfortable and happy. I feel paralyzed (no need to put on your space therapist hats BUT some career advice would be wonderful!) (Also did I mention I am in Canada and want to move to Europe and live the rest of my life there but visa sponsorship with my level of experience is impossible? Maybe that'll be for my next question…) Thanks for all you do, cheers! I have a non-CS engineering degree, and am looking to transition into Software Engineering. I have the option of pursuing a degree with Tuition Reimbursement from my job, but am in a bit of a strange situation deciding which degree. Basically, I've figured that with my current Engineering background I could pursue either a second Bachelor's degree through Universities offering a “Post-Baccalaureate” program in Computer Science, or a Master's degree, with maybe only a slightly longer program to get the Master's as opposed to the Bachelor's. Otherwise the total length/cost of the programs would be roughly the same. I have heard though that it might not be a great idea to go into a Master's program unless you know what specifically you want to study. I am curious what you think would be more “hire-able” between the two options for someone pursuing the career change into Software Engineering?

A house in Hamden, Ohio held sixteen children the State of Ohio didn't know it had. That's where this one starts, and it doesn't get easier from there. Deputies in Vinton County weren't hunting for kids the day they knocked. They were serving a warrant on something unrelated, and the state's own Attorney General has said outright that nobody walked in expecting to find children. No school district had these kids on record. No neighbor had ever flagged them. The oldest is eighteen years old and, per investigators, still can't write her own name — a detail that says everything about how long this went unnoticed. Tony spends real time on what happened around that house, not just inside it. Store clerks noticed years of small warning signs and only put the pieces together once arrests hit the news. One neighbor, living seventy feet away, insists he never saw a single child there in six years — and probably means it. A psychotherapist explains the specific psychological wiring that lets people witness something wrong and file it under someone else's problem, again and again, without ever registering the choice. Four adults are facing sixteen counts each of second-degree felony child endangering. Each has pleaded not guilty. No indictment has been handed up. Then the episode zooms out to the system itself — a mandated-reporter law with no real enforcement, a funding formula that pays states for taking children but nothing for finding them, and a parallel case in Washington, D.C. that shows this failure isn't confined to one small county. The kids were found. The system that was supposed to find them wasn't the reason why. In this episode the guys sit down with Nick Hexum, lead singer and co-founder of 311, just hours before a live show. Nick opens up about how the band has stayed together for 35 years, his path to sobriety in 2005-06 and how the band stuck by him through it, bringing weights on the road since 1993 and having a full gym dressing room on every tour, and why exercise was his earliest tool for managing anxiety and depression. He covers the study showing dance and exercise outperform SSRIs for depression by one and a half times, how he syncs his workouts to BPM-specific playlists, working with a vocal coach who saved his career, losing his youngest brother to an overdose and finally writing a song about it, Shaq showing up to their music video during the NBA playoffs with two left shoes and a siren on his SUV, meeting Joe Strummer of The Clash and finding a 311 sticker on his boom box, the Rick Rubin creativity principle of audience coming last, and his new Americana solo project with mandolin and fiddle. He also shares his thoughts on AI in the music industry, how the Grateful Dead touring model saved them from the Napster collapse, and why he surfed ten-foot Santa Cruz waves the day before this interview. Send us your feedback — we're listeningIsaiah 26:3 — Perfect Peace for the Mind Stayed on God Live from London, England — where faith meets the world in daily prayer and global hope. Hobart • Hamilton • Singapore • Dallas • Buenos Aires PEACE • ASSURANCE • REST Good evening, and welcome to DailyPrayer.uk. I'm Reverend Ben Cooper. Thank you for ending this day with me. As the evening settles around us, let's pause together, open God's Word and gently place our thoughts into the faithful care of God. As another day comes to its close, our minds can still be busy. We replay conversations, think about tomorrow and carry questions that remain unanswered. Yet the Lord does not ask us to solve everything before we rest. Instead, He lovingly invites us to fix our hearts upon Him, discovering a peace that reaches deeper than our circumstances and steadies us from within. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV) “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” What a beautiful promise for this evening. God's peace is not fragile or uncertain. It is steady, dependable and deeply rooted in His unchanging character. As we choose to place our thoughts into His care, anxious minds begin to settle, weary hearts find fresh assurance and tomorrow no longer feels like a burden we must carry tonight. So this evening, let's gently remind ourselves that fear will not win, because Jesus Christ fills every trusting heart with His perfect and lasting peace. Father, thank You for bringing us safely to the close of another day. Thank You for every kindness You have shown us, every quiet answer to prayer and every reminder that Your faithfulness has remained constant. Lord Jesus, bless every listener tonight. Bring healing to those who are unwell, comfort to those who feel alone, peace to troubled minds and renewed confidence to everyone facing tomorrow with uncertainty. Help us release every anxious thought and receive the gift of Your perfect peace. Holy Spirit, calm our hearts, quiet our thoughts and prepare us for refreshing sleep, knowing that Your faithful love will meet us again with the morning light. Across the world, from Hobart to Hamilton, from Singapore to Dallas and Buenos Aires, may every listener close this day with confidence, resting securely in the perfect peace that comes from trusting God. He did everything right. Stayed loyal. Showed up for his family. And one day in Florida he found out his wife had been having an affair. That was the moment everything he thought he knew about himself collapsed. Adam Lane Smith sits down with Ralph Brewer, author of The Dead Bedroom Fix and founder of Dad Starting Over, to break down what actually happens to a man after infidelity and divorce, why so many men get stuck trying to recover alone, and what the woman who loves a divorced man needs to understand about the fear he is still carrying. What you will learn in this video: 1- Why discovering infidelity destroys a man's existential safety at the deepest level 2- Why so many men attach themselves to the wrong woman and ignore red flags for years without knowing why 3- Why a man who hates his wife still tries to pursue her and what he is actually looking for 4- Why the divorced man is hesitant to commit again and what his hesitation is really about 5- What the woman dating a divorced man needs to know about the wounds he is still carrying 6- Why men try to recover alone and why that almost always makes things worse 7- What the single most important thing is a man in a dark place after divorce can do right now 8- Why the lone wolf mentality is one of the most dangerous lies men tell themselves If you love a man who has been through divorce and cannot figure out why he keeps holding back, this conversation will show you exactly what he is carrying and what he actually needs from you. This morning I woke up to a flood of comments on our Football Show. Some were laughing with us. Some were insulting my accent, my English, my opinion on a soccer game. And here's the part that doesn't make sense... that same show just crossed 100,000 views in 30 days. The algorithm doesn't know the difference between love and hate. It only sees engagement. For 400-plus episodes of Content Is Profit, I played it safe. Stayed in the middle. Meshed with everybody. This episode is about what happened when I stopped... and the fear that keeps most people from ever hitting publish. I break down the two kinds of comments (and why your fear can't tell them apart), three reasons the hate is actually good for your business, and five things you can do to keep creating true to your message... even when your stomach drops. Be you. Put it out there. The negative always comes... but so does the good.

Something happened that you cannot explain, and none of the explanations you have been handed since hold any weight. You prayed the prayer of faith. You declared the promise out loud. The outcome you were certain of never arrived. What you are left holding is a faith that worked exactly as it was supposed to and a grief it did nothing to prevent. Bethany Wohrle joins me for one of the rawest conversations this show has hosted. Bethany leads worship for Bethel Music, and in 2020 her family walked through the unthinkable: her five-month-old niece died suddenly, with no cause an autopsy could ever name. Bethany declared healing over her on the way to the hospital. She did not get her miracle. What she got instead was a confrontation with the difference between faith that manipulates outcomes and faith that survives losing them, and that confrontation is the spine of this conversation. You know the pull toward turning Jesus into a good luck charm, a rabbit's foot you rub until He hands over the result you have decided you are owed. Bethany will not let either of us get away with that. We talk through what grief does to a body, what a sacrifice of praise actually costs, what to do the night foreboding fear shows up uninvited, and why surrendering your right to understand is not ignorance but wisdom. This conversation will not hand you a resolution. It will ask whether your faith can still worship in the room where the miracle did not happen. Guest Bio Bethany Wohrle is a worship leader with Bethel Music and has been part of the Collective since 2018. Originally from Florida, she began leading worship young in her local church before relocating with her family to Redding, California, and later serving on staff as a worship pastor in Lubbock, Texas. Bethany now lives in Nashville with her husband, Chris, and their two sons, and her debut solo album, Reason That I Sing, was written in the years following the sudden death of her infant niece. #willardlibrary #ghosthunting #hauntedlibrary Join us on Patreon for ZERO ADS ALWAYS! www.patreon.com/hauntedcitypodcastThe Willard Library in Evansville, Indiana is one of the most haunted buildings in America, and tonight we found out why. After hours, with the doors locked and the ghost cams rolling, we went looking for the legendary Gray Lady... and something started talking back. What we captured in this investigation is some of the wildest spirit interaction we have ever documented. A child spirit begged us to spin and run with him through the stacks. A voice clearly told one of us to "SPIN FOR ME" in a whisper the whole live stream heard. And in the final moments, a spirit guided us straight to a Record of Death, page 30, and helped spell out the name of a child who died of cholera in Columbia, South Carolina in July of 1861.Built in the late 1800s, the Willard Library was the dream of Willard Carpenter, who poured nearly his entire fortune into it and died before it ever opened. His wife passed just nine months later. Legend says his daughter Louise, furious at being left out of the will, never left the building at all. For over a century, staff, police, and visitors have reported the Gray Lady drifting through the genealogy department, a dark shadow figure no one can identify, and a playful child spirit who just wants someone to find him.In this episode:The history of Willard Carpenter and the family curse behind the hauntingThe active staircase where the Gray Lady and a young boy have been seenThe genealogy floor and the famous shadow figure photographed by policeA solo sit in total darkness that pushed us to our limitThe "spin and run" game with a child spirit named BillyThe record of death moment that left the whole team speechlessThis was one of the most intense and interactive nights of our entire run. The Whore of Babylon continues to seduce the nations with her immorality. In a recent school shooting in the Philippines, one of the perpetrators has been seen wearing KMFDM merchandise... the same band long associated with Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Similar connections to KMFDM and its imagery have also surfaced in the Abundant Life Christian School shooting, adding to a disturbing pattern where the same cultural influences appear in multiple acts of school violence. The repeated presence of the same themes raises serious questions about what is shaping the worldview of those who commit these atrocities. Although KMFDM is a German industrial band, its reach and cultural impact were amplified through American media and entertainment channels, which helped globalize and normalize its darker aesthetic and messaging. In that sense, America has often functioned as a conduit... exporting cultural products that carry with them themes of rebellion, nihilism, and anti-Christian sentiment. What begins in one nation is amplified and disseminated globally, and the fruit of that influence is increasingly difficult to ignore. And we have to ask... is America this the woman who rides the beast? Doctor Kay is joined again by Doctor Ray at long last! They get to discuss their personal theories about Scamanda timelines and relationships, before dipping into the topic areas for today's episode. Dr.s Kay & Ray start with the ways in which Amanda's & West's purported timeline was challenged by their own admissions in the Bonus Episode. Then, the doctors challenge three themes that arose across the reunion and bonus episodes of Summer House Season 10. Specifically, they challenge the objectification and villainizing of black castmates on Summer House, KJ being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) while in the hospital, and the popular response going around the other podcasts of “if being married to Kyle was so bad, why did Amanda stay with him?”.REALITY TEST WITH US: Do you agree with the other podcasters that Amanda should have left Kyle if she was so unhappy? Finding an affordable apartment in New York City is hard enough. WNYC and Gothamist reporter Catalina Gonella spent months investigating allegations against David Michael, a man who describes himself as a real estate adviser. Dozens of renters say he took deposits for apartments they never got, then disappeared when they tried to get their money back. She explains how the alleged scheme worked and why small claims court offered little relief. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Jerry with the sounds of Tommy Lugauer at halftime who refused to say the game was over. Craig Carton said the game was over during his halftime show. We heard Mike Breen's call on the OG tip-in. Mike Brown said it was the biggest play in Knicks history. Wemby talked about how things can go from here.
Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber close the conversation by sorting through the strange mood after the Knicks' Game 3 loss, from Evan's poker faced exit as an independent basketball observer to fans wondering whether their own rituals somehow changed the result. The loss felt unfamiliar, but the confidence around the Knicks remained strong as the series shifted toward a critical Game 4. They also react to Craig Carton accidentally spoiling the Yankees game for Chris McMonigle, debate more officiating complaints from Knicks fans, and revisit the Josh Hart and Luke Kornet scuffle. The segment wraps with the Yankees' dramatic win over Cleveland, highlighted by Cody Bellinger's clutch hit and a bullpen that was nearly out of options.
