Modern man exists as a shadow of who he was created to be. Manhood has been hijacked by society and replaced with a caricature of what manliness looks like. Having been convinced to ignore his tribal instinct, man has grown increasingly lonely. With no tr
Hello! We're back with our first episode from the offseason following our debut season, and we are THRILLED. Elated even. We've got a newcomer in our midsts and he joins us for the first time this episode. Let's see how he does.
A man will lose his shadow at some point in his life. The question is whether he'll get it back or not.
Cammie has been on the podcast before. But things are a little different now. Things are so different, in fact, that we brought Cammie in to talk very openly about how different they are. This is a great episode.
We've talked a decent bit about Godless. But we've never really unpacked the relationship the whole show is built off of. It's time we talk about Frank and Roy.
Hey, welcome back. How's ya motha? Just kidding you're not in Boston. You're inside of a horse stable, talking to Tom Brown! And he's an expert on training horses! Your name is Ben Derrick, and this episode will tell you everything you need to know about equestrian activities and how they relate to being a man.
Mauricio sits down with fellow Hangarman Justin Adkisson to discuss his experience with the phrase "long enough to forget who you are."

We took a trip. It was good. Listen to the episode about the trip.
A Hangarman lives in authentic community. The Hangar's call to “ruck up” is not just a call to action, it's a call to community. One easy way to identify a Hangarman, is that you won't find one isolated. Hangarmen are constantly seeking authentic community. Dictionary.com defines “ruck” as the great mass of undistinguished or inferior persons or things. Though not inferior, men in hiding feel very little of themselves. The Hangarman is an imperfect man in the company of other imperfect men who have come out of hiding and are ready to reclaim manhood.
A Hangarman lives as his authentic self. The journey to find his authentic self is the undertaking of the Hangarman. Peeling back the false self, the Hangarman searches for who he is in the image of Christ. He strives to live authentically before all people, having put to death all of his false personas presented to different sects of society. You can be sure that a Hangarman is exactly who he says he is.
A Hangarman is not consumed by greed. A Hangarman is generous to those in need. He recognizes that all he has is a gift from above, and as a result his resources are dedicated to serving God's mission. Generosity is not only measured by dollars given, but by time and energy devoted to the care of others.
A Hangarman is set apart. The Hangarman is not necessarily nobility is social standing, but a gentleman by character. He stands out among men, not because he is highlighted, but because he allows others to be. The Hangarman doesn't seek attention for himself, he draws attention to others by highlighting them, and to Jesus by highlighting Him. Emulating Jesus, the Hangarman puts others above himself and recognizes his responsibility to help carry his brother's burdens. The Hangarman makes decisions based on how it will benefit the world rather than how it will benefit himself.
A Hangarman is a man of action. It is easy to find oneself isolated and paralytic having faced the beasts within. Recognizing one's brokenness is a difficult journey to take and one can grow weary. A Hangarman recognizes where he is and refuses to sit still. With the help of his company of Hangarmen he begins to move forward towards victory over the situation. Hangermen don't just identify, they spring into action.
A Hangarman is a man of honor. Having a “keen sense of ethical conduct” (Webster's) the Hangarman lives in such a way that clearly reflects the values that the Hangar asserts. The Hangarman carries himself in such a way that brings honor to himself, his family, his church, The Hangar, and most importantly to God. A Hangarman is not expected to be perfect, but he is expected to admit wrong and accept consequence honorably as a representative of the King.
