This is a family friendly podcast for Caniacs by Caniacs. We're talking of course about the CAROLINA HURRICANES of the NHL. Brad and Raymond have been fans of the Hurricanes for over 60 years combined, going back to the days of the Hartford Whalers. Whether you're just watching your first hockey game, or you've been a fan for decades, this is the podcast for you. We look forward to talking about the Hurricanes and their Caniacs, as well as answering your questions or responding to your comments. So whether you're a Caniac, or Jerk, we're here to bring you our love for the best team in the NHL.
Welcome Coach Ryan (certified by Hockey Canada) from the HotGarbageSports YouTube channel to join us and talk some puck. If there is 1 episode to listen to this season make it this one, this guy know his stuff. And if you can't listen, at least do yourself a favor and check out his YouTube channel for great and fair hockey analysis, even for the Canes. Coach Ryan brings the knowledge of the game from a national level, but without the big market bias. He's our #1 YouTube hockey follow.
The Canes are now down 0-3 in the ECF again, and have only one a single period through those 3 games. As always, Ray and I will be tough but fair in our thoughts, but this one is going to start the process of taking an honest look at what is happening in this series. If you're unsure now is a good time mentally for this one, feel free to skip and move on to game 4.Our post-season analysis will probably be starting next week when we welcome on Coach Ryan from Hot Garbage Sports.
We welcome Hayes Permar from The Rialto Theater this week! We talk about his Caniac journey, he knows more hockey than he lets on, Channel 8 parodies, potential ECF matchups and more. And the quote of the week from Hayes is "We know how to fan!" Don't miss this one!
This was very late after the game so apologies on any quality issues. A quick look at games 4 and 5. We could not be prouder of all the boys on the team, what an accomplishment to make their 3rd Conference Finals in 7 years.

A little cathartic day today with our guest Bethany! We talk about Bethany' Caniac journey, we tell Ray he's wrong in a returning segment, we talk about why we feel upset with where the team is at, Mikko is not being traded, and more!
A former guest Beth invited Ray, I, and our friend ElJay to Toronto for the Canes/Leaf Saturday night and what a night it was! This round table was recorded in the Air Canada Signature Lounge (shout out to Shannon our amazing hostess). We dined on the most incredible food, had seats directly behind the Canes penalty box (Hi Aho x2 and Walker!) and as always, great hockey talk. Please forgive the background noise I did what I could on our $0 audio engineering budget. Hah
Bleacher Report Hockey writer / social media star Sam Prevot joined us in the Cellar to talk about the 4 Nations Faceoff. This has far exceeded anyone's expectations and there is at least 1 huge game on tap still to come in Canada v Finland. We hear about Sam's journey through the ranks, her time with the PHF, swapping from Rags to Canes (Thanks Skinner!), and more.We also talk about what we've seen so far at the 4 Nations Faceoff and what is still to come. To paraphrase Meat Loaf, 2 out of 4 ain't bad with a 3rd string goalie in net. The Canes drop back to backs vs the Kittehs, but came back and beat both the Rags and Stars so it's not a bad week at all Caniacs. Ray and I talk about the weeks' games, goal tending options, what could we steal from Nashville perhaps, and why we need to see the forest and not the trees.

Lots of Wolves on this list, the Russian pipeline is BOOMing, and more We also do a lightning round of predictions on the season, so don't miss our opening night episode so let's #RaiseUp!

(TW - There is a brief mention of suicide that I left in as an integral part of a compelling story)(There are a few "damn"s I left in as well)
This week, Ryan Henkel from The Hockey News joins us as we talk about what it's like to be a Canes beat reporter. We talk about Ryan's intro to journalism, his beginnings covering hockey, the transition from fan to reporter and more. We also discuss the Canes new signings and Ryan's initial impressions of them, along with Scott Morrow's performance against the Blues. We wrap this one up looking at the playoff picture again as it's still anyone's WC2 in the east, and the President's Trophy and Metro Championship are both up for grabs.
