What does product management look like when your engineers aren't writing code? Rags Vadali, founder of Floto and former PM at Google and Meta, joins Lily and Randy to talk about how building AI-native products has completely inverted his process. No PRDs, prototypes before specs, and a new artefact at the centre of it all: the Product Experience Document (PXD).They get into why the real product when you're building an agent is the experience layer on top of it, how synthetic personas work (and where they don't), and what discovery still requires that AI can't replace. In this session from the Retail Collective Summit, founders and CEOs from Rags, &Collar, Beard Club, Caddis Sports, 47G and Spreetail dissect the shifting balance between D2C and marketplaces like Amazon and TikTok Shop. The conversation reveals the raw reality of channel profitability, comparing high D2C gross margins against the lower acquisition costs and fulfillment efficiencies found on Amazon. The panel explores tactical "Trojan Horse" plays—using marketplaces for demand capture and customer acquisition, then driving that traffic back to branded sites for premium experiences and long-term loyalty. From navigating the "nerves" of TikTok Shop to the importance of "lean and mean" operations, these leaders share why being where the consumer already exists is the ultimate competitive advantage. Finally, the group discusses the future of retail operations, including the strategic use of 3PL partners and the role of AI in streamlining creative testing and SEO. Whether you're building a brand moat or optimizing for higher LTV, this episode provides a masterclass in staying nimble in a volatile market.
This one's personal. Jamie Pardee — Jamie The Cleaner — isn't just the Towel Wizard and co-owner of The House of Rags. He's a father, a former semi-pro wrestler, a man who's been through the fire and still chooses to show up with a smile and a helping hand. Tonight we're not here to talk products or polish counts. We're here to talk about the guy who quietly ships hope — every box, every towel, every donation — because he knows what it's like to need it. We'll laugh about his wrestling days, get real about fatherhood, and dig into why Pay It Forward isn't just a campaign to Jamie… it's a way of life. This week on OoohTheyFunny, the crew taps into pure nostalgia with “Kids Are Funny,” kicking things off with hilarious childhood habits we all forgot we had—like drinking water from a wash rag, sprinting to your room after turning off the lights, and creating weird little “systems” that made perfect sense at the time. From there, the conversation shifts into how men and women celebrate differently, highlighting how guys tend to keep things simple while women often turn birthdays into full-blown productions, sparking a debate on whether that's personality or conditioning. The episode wraps with a more reflective segment, “That's Sad,” where a simple realization—like not knowing your own kids' phone numbers—leads into a deeper discussion about how technology has replaced everyday skills, changed how we connect, and whether convenience has quietly made life less personal. It's a mix of funny, relatable, and lowkey thought-provoking moments that'll have you laughing one minute and thinking the next.
What I Know About Earth, Wind & FireWhat I know about Earth, Wind & FireI thought could be told in under a minute,But I was wrong. This group has countless accolades, awards, achievements….And then there's the “ME” relationship.I was introduced to Earth, Wind & Fire in 1975when I noticed the “That's The Way Of The World” albumresting against my old man's record player.Pop (my dad) didn't buy albums,he usually would buy “45's”…or singles—Some of you may not know what a “45” is,and because he was a working musician, pop only purchased music to learn the song.Pop was studying the entire album. That told me that there was something special about this group.Earth, Wind & Fire created “Grown Folks Music,”and in their “hey day,” that didn't work for me.But, it was great for everyone else. The Rags to Riches story of Maurice White and his band, originally named “The Salty Peppers,”came from humble beginnings. From Memphis to Chicago to California,The recruiting of brothers Verdine & Freddie,The alliance with Collaborator Charles Stepney,The addition of Al McKay, Larry Dunn who introduced Philip Bailey.Because of the practices of Maurice Whiteone by one, each walked away. Ending Maurice Whiteand Earth Wind & Fire's Hit Parade.Well, Philip Bailey returned, but not the hits. Before Maurice White diedHe built something great and easy to enjoy,And to learn more,Press play.

If we reach back into the annals of our deep rich history as a club, we'll see that in late July 2025, we were wiped off the planet by a formidable Bulldogs outfit that belted us by 88 points. We've had time to reflect since then, and an off season to prepare. And it's great signs, as our positive trajectory as a Premiership contender is clearly evident, bridging the gap since that fateful Thursday night by 7 to be a mere 81 points off the Doggies.Positive signs for the Orange Army and Season 2026.Listen in as Rags is joined by Team Orca as they rummage through the debris for any signs of life or positivitiy, and look forward to the battle at the Beanstalk against the Trillion Dollar Saints.Never Surrender.----To get in contact, drop an email, comment on Spotify or message on X.We love reviews or ratings.Email: thesquinterspodcast@gmail.comYouTube: NeverSurrenderByTheSquintersX: The SquintersInstagram: gws_squintersFB: thesquintersTikTok: the.squinters
The rags-to-riches story is powerful. But some people never left the rags — they just learned to perform them. We love a comeback story in America. But lately I've been noticing something that bothers me — people who've stopped climbing and started exaggerating. Instead of reaching the next level, they keep polishing the backstory. Making the bottom sound worse so the middle feels like the top. In episode #1491, I break down why glorifying where you started is a sign you've stopped moving — and the only two reasons you should ever look back at all. One of them will completely reframe everything you've been through. Your past is a path to light for others. Not a trophy to polish for yourself. Hit play. Then look forward. Who This Episode Is For If your best story is still about where you started — this one's for you. Key Takeaways Glorifying your struggle instead of building on it is a sign you've peaked — and decided to perform instead of progress Your past is not your identity. It's where you were, not who you are Charity that centers the giver isn't charity — it's marketing. The same applies to backstories told for applause There are only two valid reasons to look back: gratitude for how far you've come and lighting the path for someone still in it The people who've truly been through the worst rarely lead with it — they lead with what it built in them Questions for Reflection Are you more focused on where you're going or where you started? Be honest. Is the story you keep telling about your past serving others — or just serving your ego? If your backstory disappeared tomorrow, would you still have something compelling to say about your future? Action Steps Audit the story you tell most often about yourself. Is it forward-facing or backward-looking? Rewrite your one-liner to reflect where you're going, not where you've been. If you've genuinely overcome something hard, identify one person still in that situation and use your experience to light their path — not post about it, but actually reach out. Set one new goal this week that makes your current level feel like the new starting point — not the finish line. Featured Quote "If you've gone through a rough time and you use it to light a path for others — that's what makes it all worth it. If you're just using it to pat yourself on the back, it was all for nothing."

Send a text This episode explores the fundamental theological conflict between merit-based religious practices and the concept of divine mercy. The Scale of JudgmentConrad uses the visual of "the scales" to compare how different traditions approach righteousness:Islam: Highlights the concept of the Mizan, where a believer's good deeds are weighed against their bad deeds on the day of judgment.Catholicism/Orthodoxy: Discusses how traditions like Lent, the rosary, and penance are sometimes viewed as a means to earn merit or shorten time in purgatory.General Secularism: Notes that even non-religious people often hope their "kindness" or "charity" will eventually outweigh their faults. The Problem of Human Effort Human goodness is an insufficient "currency" because the scale is actually measured against God's perfect holiness.Inadequate "Rags": Citing Isaiah 64, he explains that human righteous deeds are viewed by God as "polluted garments".The Debt of Sin: He asserts that even a single sin outweighs a lifetime of fasting, and religious merit cannot bridge the gap between humanity and a holy God.The Gospel Solution: Grace and FaithSalvation must be received as a gift rather than earned through performance:The Divine Transfer: Christian Gospel is a "divine transfer" where Christ takes on human sin on the cross and, in exchange, grants His perfect righteousness to the believer.Gift vs. Debt: Drawing from Ephesians 2 and Romans, salvation is a gift of grace received through faith, not a result of works.A New Motive: He clarifies that while believers should still perform good deeds, the motive changes from earning merit to expressing love and gratitude for the favor they have already received. The Scale of JudgmentConrad uses the visual of "the scales" to compare how different traditions approach righteousness:Islam: Highlights the concept of the Mizan, where a believer's good deeds are weighed against their bad deeds on the day of judgment.Surah 9:101-103: The trumpet is blown on that day.."those whose good deeds weigh heavy will be successful but those whose balance is light will have lost their souls forever and will stay in hell."Catholicism/Orthodoxy: Discusses how traditions like Lent, the rosary, and penance are sometimes viewed as a means to earn merit or shorten time in purgatory.Council of Trent: Conrad references the teaching that a justified person merits an increase in grace and eternal life through good deeds.Canon XXIV: States that justice received is preserved and also increased before God through good works.Canon XXXII: Asserts that the good works of a justified person truly merit an increase of grace and eternal life.General Secularism: Notes that even non-religious people often hope their "kindness" or "charity" will eventually outweigh their faults.Bible Insights with Wayne ConradContact: 8441 Hunnicut Rd Dallas, Texas 75228email: Att. Psalm 37 is a tremendous encouragement for those tempted to be disillusioned with the seemingly prosperous wicked and the frustrating futility of doing things the right way. David reminds the righteous that the picture in Psalm 1 is indeed true. God will not permit the wicked to flourish long; it is those who keep the way of the Lord and walk in righteousness who will inherit the land. There are only seven basic plots: Overcoming the monster, Rags to riches, Voyage/Return, Comedy, Tragedy, Rebirth, and the Quest. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is all seven. "The Classic Literature Podcast'.Oliver Twist is not just a novel—it's a cry. A cry against cruelty, against hypocrisy, against a society that punishes the vulnerable and rewards the corrupt. But it's also a cry of hope. Because even in the darkest alley, Dickens insists that light can break through. That grace can find the lost. In this episode, we'll explore how Oliver Twist and we'll meet characters who embody both sin and salvation. We'll trace the spiritual arc of a boy who begins with nothing but a name—and ends with a family, a future, and the hope of redemption.Support the showFollow and Support All my Creative endeavours on Patreon. On this episode of the MalloryBros Podcast, the Bros start with J. Cole's album announcement and his new track “The Inevitable,” setting expectations for what's coming next. That conversation naturally opens the door to a real debate about the Big 3 in Hip Hop — whether that label still holds weight or if the culture has already moved on. From there, the Bros talk about Kai Cenat's recent viral moments online, discussing how quickly public perception can shift and how easily narratives and morals change once the coast is clear. The conversation touches on intent, criticism, and the reality of being under constant public scrutiny. The episode also dives into Druski's viral church skit, questioning where the line is in comedy and whether his success has put him in a different category than his peers. The Bros discuss his style, his influence, and what separates him from the rest of the comedy space right now. Terrell presses Terrance on his thoughts about Trae Young and the Washington Wizards, before the conversation takes a lighter turn into video game soundtrack nostalgia and how certain music instantly brings you back. Later, the Bros talk about a viral social media breakup, the role online attention plays in relationships, and how public perception can outweigh real-life context. They also touch on a more serious topic involving a missing spouse, before closing the episode with NFL playoff reactions and their AFC and NFC Championship picks.

Even billion-dollar teams start simple first. Rags Vadali's team at Meta gave small businesses in Brazil two phones—one red, one blue—and spent two months tracking every customer message in a spreadsheet. No fancy tech. No code. Just analog data collection. That experiment validated what became a $5 billion product. In this episode, Rags explains why the hardest part of building a tech product has nothing to do with technology—and why non-technical founders who understand this have a massive advantage in 2026. What you'll learn: Why Meta validated billion-dollar products with spreadsheets before writing code The difference between what to build (your job) and how to build it (AI's job) Why talking to customers beats "figuring it out" behind your computer Why 2026 is the best time in history for non-technical founders to start If you're ready to stop overthinking and start building, this episode will show you exactly where to begin. P.S. This January, Rags is joining Tech for Non-Technical Founders as a guest instructor. If you want 1:1 coaching from someone who has launched products to 600 million people, enrollment opens January 13th. Details at the end of the episode. I wanted to start off the year (and the new season of the podcast) with something momentous, and who better to take us there than one of the great operatic artists of the twentieth century: Canadian soprano Teresa Stratas. I have not yet done a full episode on this artist, though she provided me with what was probably my greatest night in the opera house (I get into that in the episode, as well as featuring a rare excerpt of her in that shattering performance). As always with my podcast, I like to provide unexpected glimpses of such a great singer, alongside many of her most legendary moments. So not only do we hear Stratas' legendary interpretations of her favorite roles (Mimì, Mélisande, Lulu, Violetta, and Salome [the latter a role she never portrayed onstage]), we also hear her in Mozart, her favorite composer, as an operetta singer, as an interpreter of Lieder, in her single Broadway role in the short-lived Rags, and in another of her creations, the title role in Australian composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks' Nausicaa, as well as two late career Met roles, Liù and the Komponist, roles she had sung there at the beginning of her career, more than thirty years earlier. Along the way, we hear her with artists who have already been featured in previous seasons (Gabriel Bacquier, Florence Quivar and Fritz Wunderlich), but also singers who will each be featured in the upcoming series of the podcast, including Tom Krause, Wiesław Ochman, Bernd Weikl, Elizabeth Harwood, and Vasile Moldoveanu. Also much discussion also about what makes Stratas unique as an interpreter, and why she deserves to be ranked among the very greatest. Welcome to Season Seven! Countermelody is the podcast devoted to the glory and the power of the human voice raised in song. Singer and vocal aficionado Daniel Gundlach explores great singers of the past and present focusing in particular on those who are less well-remembered today than they should be. Daniel's lifetime in music as a professional countertenor, pianist, vocal coach, voice teacher, and author yields an exciting array of anecdotes, impressions, and “inside stories.” At Countermelody's core is the celebration of great singers of all stripes, their instruments, and the connection they make to the words they sing. By clicking on the following link (https://linktr.ee/CountermelodyPodcast) you can find the dedicated Countermelody website which contains additional content including artist photos and episode setlists.
