सयानी बुआ कहानी में सयानी बुआ लेखिका की अपनी बुआ थी। जो हर काम को समय से करना ज्यादा पसंद करती थी।वह काफी कठोर थी। सबसे अपनी बात मनवाने में माहिर थी। अनावश्यक चीजों का दुरूपयोग उनको पसंद नहीं था। वह स्वयं स्कूल में एक पेंसिल को जब तक छोटा होकर हाथ में न आ जाए गुस्से लिखती थी। रबर को भी ५-६ साल तक चलाती थी। चीजों को संभाल कर रखना वह खूब जानती थी। लेखिका को अपनी बुआ के बारे में पिताजी से पता चला ।वह भी सयानी बुआ से बहुत डरती थी। एक दिन उनके पिताजी ने आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए उनको सयानी बुआ के यहां भेज दिया। लेखिका सहमी सहमी गई थी। परिस्थिति सच में बहुत गंभीर थी। सयानी बुआ साफ सफाई बहुत पसंद करती थी। एक बार एक नौकर ने उनके ५ रूपयों के कांच के डब्बे को तोड़ दिया था तो उन्होंने उस बच्चे की बहुत पिटाई की थी। A इस प्रकार की सयानी बुआ के पास जाकर रहकर पढ़ाई करने का अवसर लेखिका को मिला।

The narrator risked to enter in the clouds. No sooner he entered in the clouds everything turned black. He saw anther aeroplane without lights on its wings. The pilot waved his hand to the narrator and asked him to follow him. The narrator followed the pilot of another aeroplane as his compass, radio went dead. Even there was not enough fuel in his tank. With the help of another pilot, he landed safely and when he went to receptionist to thank the pilot he was informed by the lady that there was no any other plane flying in the sky that night.
His First Flight' by Liam O' Flaherty tells about the need for courage and self-confidence to overcome fears in life. A young seagull looked desperately at the vast expanse of water that stretched before him. His parents, brothers and little sister had flown away and left him alone on the rock. There was no food and he was hungry. He could not fly. Many times he had tried to run forward to the brink of the ledge and flap his wings. But he was afraid and felt that his wings would not support him. Despite making countless efforts his parents could not persuade him to make an attempt to fly. He was starving and felt that he would die if he did not get any food. He saw his mother tearing a piece of fish with her beak. When he cried out to her she just screamed back mockingly. Then he saw his mother approaching him with food and was very happy. But she stopped at a distance. He was very hungry so he dived at the fish. His mother flew upward and he started falling. He was terrified for a moment but then he realized that he was flying. In this way he made his first flight.

यह story अंदमान निकोबार द्वीपसमूह के एक प्रचलित लोककथा पर आधरित है। अंदमान निकोबार दक्षिणी द्वीप लिटिल अंदमान है जो की पोर्ट ब्लेयर से लगभग सौ किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है। इसके बाद निकोबार द्वीपसमूह का पहला प्रमुख द्वीप कार-निकोबार है जो की लिटिल अंदमान से 96 कि.मी. दूर है। पौराणिक जनश्रुति के अनुसार ये दोनों द्वीप पहले एक ही थे। इनके अलग होने के पीछे एक लोककथा आज भी प्रचलित है। जब दोनों द्वीप एक थे तब वहां एक सुन्दर सा गाँव था जहाँ एक सुन्दर और शक्तिशाली युवक रहा करता था जिसका नाम तताँरा था। वह एक नेक और ईमानदार व्यक्ति था और सदा दूसरों की मदद के लिए तत्पर रहता था। निकोबारी उसे बेहद प्रेम करते थे। वह अपने गाँव के लोगों के साथ सारे द्वीप की भी सेवा करता था। वह पारंपरिक पोशाक में रहने के साथ अपनी कमर में सदा एक लकड़ी की तलवार बाँधे रहता था। वह कभी तलवार का उपयोग नही करता था, लोगों का मत था की तलवार में दैवीय शक्ति थी।
बड़े भाई साहब' कहानी प्रेमचंद द्वारा रचित है। प्रेमचंद की कहानियाँ हमेशा शिक्षाप्रद रही हैं। उन्होंने अपनी कहानियों के माध्यम से किसी-न-किसी समस्या पर प्रहार किया है। बड़े भाई साहब समाज में समाप्त हो रहे, कर्तव्यों के अहसास को दुबारा जीवित करने का प्रयास मात्र है। इस कहानी में बड़े भाई साहब अपने कर्तव्यों को संभालते हुए, अपने भाई के प्रति अपनी ज़िम्मेदारियों को पूरा कर रहे हैं। उनकी उम्र इतनी नहीं है, जितनी उनकी ज़िम्मेदारियाँ है। लेकिन उनकी ज़िम्मेदारियाँ उनकी उम्र के आगे छोटी नज़र आती हैं। वह स्वयं के बचपन को छोटे भाई के लिए तिलाजंलि देते हुए भी नहीं हिचकिचाते हैं। उन्हें इस बात का अहसास है कि उनके गलत कदम छोटे भाई के भविष्य को बिगाड़ सकते हैं। वह अपने भविष्य के साथ खिलवाड़ करने से भी नहीं चूकते। एक चौदह साल के बच्चे द्वारा उठाया गया कदम छोटे भाई के उज्जवल भविष्य की नींव रखता है। यही आदर्श बड़े भाई को छोटे भाई के सामने और भी ऊँचा बना देते हैं। यह कहानी सीख देती है कि मनुष्य उम्र से नहीं अपने किए गए कामों और कर्तव्यों से बड़ा होता है। वर्तमान युग में मनुष्य विकास तो कर रहा है परन्तु आदर्शों को भुलता जा रहा है। भौतिक सुख एकत्र करने की होड़ में हम अपने आदर्शों को छोड़ चुके हैं। हमारे लिए आज भौतिक सुख ही सब कुछ है। अपने से छोटे और बड़ों के प्रति हमारी ज़िम्मेदारियाँ हमारे लिए आवश्यक नहीं है।
