Note to the listeners: Due to some computer snafus onMike's end, the first five minutes of this episode are lost. We join this one as it is already in progress. This week, Mike and Ariel are on hand to talk Wishmaster 3Beyond the Gates of Hell. While we were warned we might experience something on par with the lows of the worst Wrong Turn franchise, this one is, just sort of there. It's not the worst thing we've ever watched, but it isn't all thatmemorable either. What is memorable is the mid-episode existential crisis Mike has as he ponders whether eternity would ever get boring, or if there is capitalism in the Afterlife, and if so, does Jesus make people toil in factoriesputting little screws into “Footprints” framed posters? We do talk about the movie a bit, and whether this is the same Djinn as the same movie, ponder why the Djinn doesn't act a little nicer when granting wishes in order to get the prophecyto come true, and wonder if Angels would ride public transportation. Good times. Mike also makes the argument again that Wishmaster 2 laid the groundwork for the landmark Supreme Court case of Citizens United. All that, plus a little bit of Buffy talk.

In this episode of Fundamental Footprints, we sit down with Joseph Oakes to explore his academic journey from Bob Jones University (BJU) to earning a Ph.D. and teaching at Virginia Tech. Joseph reflects candidly on his time at BJU, offering insight into the academic rigor that shaped his trajectory and prepared him for graduate-level work at NC State. While many discussions about BJU often focus on its cultural and institutional controversies, Joseph brings a nuanced perspective, spotlighting the strength of the university's educational programs—particularly in the sciences. He credits the training he received at BJU as foundational, not only for his success in obtaining advanced degrees but also for his effectiveness as a university-level instructor today.Throughout the conversation, Joseph shares how the discipline, structure, and expectations at BJU gave him an academic edge, especially when transitioning into secular higher education environments. His story challenges some of the broad-brush criticisms of fundamentalist institutions by highlighting the positive, lasting impact that a quality education—regardless of its ideological packaging—can have on a student's life and calling.Listeners will come away with a deeper understanding of the complexities within Christian higher education, and how God's calling can work through unexpected paths. Joseph's journey is a testament to academic excellence, personal growth, and the power of perseverance. To Purchase our cigar line go to: https://1689cigars.com/collections/4-freedom-cigars For more info visit our website: https://4freedompodcast.comFor Merch visit this site: https://www.teepublic.com/user/freedom-ministries?utm_source=designer&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=Gq_E0abDp_8

Leddy Hammock Inspired by lyrics from “Footprints” by Sue Riley: The Mother side of God's Love is selfless and unconditional, as if to say, “Stay right behind me and I will lead the way.” The Mother side of God's love knows how to let go, as if to say, “I know you are frightened, but I will keep you safe.” The Mother side of God's Love gives life as a labor of love, as if to say, “You shall know no harm.” The Mother side of God's love shows us the path and helps us find our way, as if to say, “Walk in my footprints.”

He's waiting to see how tariffs will impact the big box retailer's supply chain, alongside TJX Companies (TJX). Tsvetta Kaleynska says a loyal customer base will support TJX even if its store restocks get stalled due to tariffs.
