WORT 89.9FM Madison · “The Park People” Film to Showcase Madison Locations Back in 2024, WORT welcomed a University of Wisconsin student film crew into our studio to shoot a short called “Tuned In,” which takes place in fictional community radio station WALE.  Prop posters for made-up local bands still grace the walls of our Combo A studio.  The director of “Tuned In,” Corey Holl has graduated with a degree in film and graphic design and has stayed in the Madison area, forming the video and film production company “Cut the Deck Creative.”  Cut the Deck's latest film, “The Park People,” currently in production,  will be shot entirely in Madison.  Producer and director Corey Holl joins us in the studio, along with co-producer and cinematographer David Guenther. Aujourd'hui sur Demain N'attend Pas, j'ai la joie de recevoir Wale Gbadamosi-Oyekanmi, un entrepreneur franco nigérian extraordinaire, décidé à bouger les lignes sur les grands problèmes de notre époque. Fondateur de Dare Win, une agence qui a marqué la pub digitale en France, et élu publicitaire de l'année en 2022, Wale est habitué à mettre sa créativité au service des plus grandes marques du luxe et du digital et à gérer de l'hyper-croissance. Tout bascule avec le Covid, la mort de George Floyd et le mouvement Black Life Matter.Wale décide alors de tourner la page. Il cède son entreprise et met ses compétences, son argent et son réseau au service des enjeux qui lui tiennent à coeur.Et depuis, il est inarrêtable !Quand la dissolution nous prend tous de cours, il comprend que les résultats des prochaines élections se joueront sur le niveau d'abstention. Et que les jeunes forment le gros des troupes abstentionnistes. En à peine deux semaines, avec une dizaine d'irréductibles, il lance le collectif « Mouiller le Maillot ». Il sollicite son réseau de footballeurs, les stars comme les équipes de quartier. Ils enfillent tous un maillot floqué « Je vote ». Une mobilisation éclair entre les deux tours, qui devient vite virale. Cette fois-ci, l'abstention reste faible et le danger est repoussé… jusqu'à la prochaine fois. On ne saura jamais la part jouée par la campagne animée par Wale… mais une chose est sûre, son attitude nous rappelle que nous pouvons tous prendre des initiatives et faire mentir le fatalisme.Wale a poursuivi ses engagements pour la jeunesse, toujours en se reposant sur les stars du sport et de la musique pour créer de la viralité. Il utilise notamment ce mécanisme pour produire Têtes Plongeantes, un documentaire choc sur la santé mentale des jeunes où les Champions du monde 2018 se confient sur leurs troubles de santé mentale en dialogue avec des jeunes concernés. Un docu vu plus de 2 millions de fois en quelques mois...Aujourd'hui, Wale a posé pour un temps ses valises au Nigéria, pays d'où est originaire sa famille, et se mobilise auprès de l'industrie créative du pays.  Cet épisode est un véritable anti-dépresseur, une invitation à ne jamais nous résigner et à oser agir sur les sujets qui nous tiennent à coeur. Dr. Olaf Meynecke is a whale expert at the University of Queensland. He advised Timmy's rescue team.
